The History
of
Northern New Jersey Alumnae Chapter
In the spring of 1962, the late Nancy Kennon moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Newark, New Jersey.  A sister from the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter, Martha Harbison, suggested that Nancy start an alumnae chapter in northern New Jersey

Nancy contacted SAI National Headquarters for the names of all the SAIs in the Essex County area.  As a result of her letter, thirteen members attended a dinner/organizational meeting in April of 1963.

Thirteen members were most enthusiastic and NNJAC was installed in November of 1963 by Jeanette Kirk, National President, the Installing Province Officer and Province President was Lois Horn.
