As she sat, silently staring out the window,
A slow smile crept across her face.
As though she had a secret no one else knew,
Or a joke she remembered from long ago.
She continued to stare, to watch through the window,
The people and the cars that go by.
She loved watching the people, walking around,
Bicycling, blading or driving.
And as she sat there alone, looking out the window,
She suddenly heard a voice.
A cool, calm hand touched her shoulder,
and she snapped out of her reverie.
She stared at the face looking back, as she had through the window,
and an even bigger smile appeared.
For this was who she'd been waiting for
The one who would keep her from being alone
The one she could call "her love"
