Dr. Moorthy has over 14 years of experience in US semiconductor industry ( LSI Logic Corporation, Lam Research)  and academia. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA and B.Engg, from PSG Tech, Coimbatore, India, and M.Tech from  IIT-Madras in India.
- Currently working as an Associate Professor  in Electrical and Electronics Engg. at BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, Hyderabad.
- Worked for well-known companies in US in VLSIC Process and Product engineering.
- Experienced in installation, qualification, process development and operation of  VLSIC equipments - DNS spin coater/developer, Novellus CVD system, Lam Research plasma etch systems, KLA-Tencor thickness measurement systems, Nikon steppers, Keithley DC Parametric testers, Credence IC testers, ElectroGlass probers
- Experienced in organizing Quality Improvement programs, Statistical process control and ISO9000 audit
- Completed certificate program in Object Oriented Programming using Java and courses  in C/
C++, Oracle
- Taught Semiconductor Device Physics, VLSI fabrication, and testing at MS Ramaiah School
of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, India.
- Teaching Courses and guiding projects in the areas of VLSI Design, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers  in CBIT, Hyderabad.

- Installation and programming  of Laurell spin coaters for photoresist and polymer coating.
