At home, Marcy sits alone, listening to the voice on the radio and surfs the net, looking for ideas about how to help Al. She considers whether shes doing the right thing by not going to his parents, scared shes playing God with his life. Marcy talks to herself trying to sort it out.

Marcy: If I dont do something soon no I cant think that way. There has to be a way.

Marcy begins to formulate a plan, and picks up her diary to pen her ideas.

Her heart starts beating rapidly, terrified about the role she must play if she has the guts to do it, but more terrified at the thought of the alternatives.

Voice on the radio: I know what its like to lose. You get scared to take risks, but then you have to remember nothing is really safe in this life. Life itself is a risk. Whats amazing to me is that we have the courage to getup each day. But if you dont get up and go out and take risks, whats the alternative? Are you really living?

Marcy writes in her diary, taking long pauses to think. Her thoughts and her writings blur with the sound of the music and the voice on the radio.

Marcy: If only I was a hot thing like Jen, I would give myself to Al, and keep him so busy, he could get through the withdrawals.

Marcy smiles slyly to herself.

Marcy: I dont even know if Id like it. I never had sex with anyone. I would with Al though, I mean, if he felt that way about me.

Marcy pauses.

Marcy: Who am I kidding? What would I do even if he wanted to? What, lure him to a seedy motel on the outskirts of town and tie him down, and act like a dominatrix? Yeah, right! Oh, and like Im gonna wrestle him down? This is nuts!

Marcy stares off into space with a huge grin, lost in her fantasy of wrestling with that particular sweet boy, and comes out for brief moments of reality.

Marcy: Oh Marcy, no dirty thoughts! But then again, maybe Al would like it. Marcy continues to fight her fantasies, but her heart betrays her at every turn.

Marcy: But he doesnt think of me like that, and after what happened with Joe rejecting me for that kiss, like Im EVER gonna try something like that again no way. Once was enough for me to learn my lesson. Okay, lets get serious Marcy girl! I wonder if I could give him sleeping pills, safely that is. Even so, I still have to get him to the motel. Okay, I guess the motel is definitely part of the plan. I know. Ill act like Ive been taken there against my will, and I called him to help.

Marcy pauses to think it through.

Marcy: No. Hed end up calling the police. I can just see it now. Marcy giggles.

Marcy: Ill tell him some whopper about how I found something I cant show anyone, and Ill say I cant talk about it on the phone. Ill say hes the only one I can trust and that he has to meet me someplace private. But how would I keep him there, and get him to drink something with sleeping pills in it, AND stay long enough for it to take effect?

Marcys face turns serious.

Marcy: Ill have to play it by ear. Ill have to trust myself to know what to do. Oh, wow hell think Im such a freak.

Marcy puts her diary down, and lays back feeling some semblance of peace.

She feels calm, knowing that she has a plan, a plan that can work. Then her thoughts turn to why she keeps wanting to use herself to bait Al.

Marcy: Oh my it cant be Im falling for Al.

Marcy smiles, then her face turns to a frown.

Marcy: Hell never look at me the way he looks at Jen.

Voice on the radio: So dont forget to jump off head first sometimes.

Life is waiting. Goodnight.

A moment later the phone rings. Al is on the other end.

A phone conversation is seen with shots back and forth between Marcys place and the radio station.

Al: I know we dont need to study, uh, thanks to you. I just well, what are you doing?

Marcy takes a deep breathe, a sigh of excitement, as she considers why hes so interested in what shes doing even though he doesnt need anything from her. She smiles, and answers in the most seductive voice she can muster. Her plan would have to wait long enough for a brief interlude with Al.

Marcy: I was just wondering what you were doing, I mean, how you are doing.

Al: Worrying about me again?

Marcy: I cant help it. But dont worry Al. Well figure it out.

Al: Well, we cant fix anything tonight.

Marcy: I know.

Al: Wills having a party again ha ha. You interested?

Marcy: Oh, sure Ill get ready.

Marcy holds the phone with her chin as she pulls out a black, slinky, and silky blouse she purchased earlier. She smiles, wondering if Al would like it on her.

Al: Come over as soon as you are, okay?

Marcy: Careful Al, I might think you have a thing for me.

Al pauses with a huge grin, and chokes a bit. Marcy knocks herself in the head for saying something stupid and embarrassing.

Al: Would you like it?

Marcy freezes. Her eyes widen, and she gulps.

Marcy: Ill see you in a few, Al.

Al: Uh, sure, okay, see ya.

Al stares at the phone before putting it down, wondering why Marcy evaded the question. He talks to himself.

Al: What a bonehead I am! What would a girl like Marcy see in a joke like me? I have nothing to offer, and shes got it together. Ill just laugh it off and say I like yanking her chain. But then, I cant let her think Im poking fun at her weight either. Why do girls think they have to be a waif to be hot?

Al shakes his head. He cant help himself. He imagines himself kissing Marcy, and ponders her possible reactions.

Janine, the redhead Al brought to the first party: Al, you planning to close the place down? You have plans babydoll?

Al: Hi, Jan. Wow, you are a sight for sore eyes.

Janine: Does that mean Im gonna score me some attention from the voice tonight?

Al: Id invite you to a party but I kinda got a girl I asked to go with me.

You are always welcome though, as a friend.

Janine: There was never any strings, so no worries sweet thing. I guess Ill have to stop calling you that if you are getting hooked up with a girl. I hope its not that creepy Jen you told me about.

Al: Oh no.. no way! Its a real nice girl, but I dont know if shes into me.

Janine: Id have to slap some sense into her if she wasnt! Oh, if I were a bit younger, Id be all over you. Oh, yeah, I already am. I better get going before I stick my foot into mouth any further.

Al: Youre the best Janine.

Al takes her hand and kisses it tenderly.

Al: Youre special, and youll find the right guy.

Janine: Your voice to Gods ears.

Al: I only reach the listening audience of our radio station. Sorry.

They chuckle and walk out to their cars together.
