"Al Gets the Girl" - SOW

Al and Natalie's devious plan to win their trueloves starts to pay off this week on One Life to Live when Jen accepts Al's proposal and Jessica begins to doubt Seth. Jen turns to Al for comfort following her mother's arrest. He tries to cheer her up with another marriage proposal, and this time Jen accepts. "We are both so swept up in the moment," Marston says in character. "The emotions are running high on both ends." While it may seem as if Al is pouncing while Jen is vulnerable, Marston disagrees. "I don't think Al really takes advantage, not directly. Maybe innately he just understands timing...but it's not anything planned." So why does Jen accept this time? "It's a combination of a lot of things on her part," Marston explains. "Guilt, of course. A need for security because her family life wasn't always that stable and he is a pretty emotionally stable person. There are a lot of qualities about him that she does actually dig. It's just that she's not really in love with the kid." A point which the devastated Cristian brings up to Jen upon hearing the news. But she is determined to see this through to quell her guilty conscience," says Marson. "She still believes that [his paralysis] is her fault." Al's cohort, Natalie, also has a good week when her plot to cast doubt on Seth's character works. Not only is Seth beaten up by Chad for hitting on his sister, but Max lays him off as well. Even Jessica can't be sure Seth is innocent. When she questions him about his whereabouts the previous night, Seth realizes Jessica doesn't trust him. All apears to be rolling along for the dastardly duo, but then someone catches Al...being a stand-up guy. Will he be able to convince this person to keep his secret?
