O-Town's performance at the Miss America pageant was not a successful one. They performed "Liquid Dreams" for the first time, but it was not good because their ear phones weren't working. Meanwhile, Erik's biological father (whom he hasn't seen in 19 years) calls him to say he wants to see him sometime. Since Erik had other things on his mind, O-Town's performance for Teen People was fine except for him. Erik was wondering if the only reason his father wanted to see him was because of the fame...Erik wouldn't even share the problems because he grew up keeping stuff to himself. O-Town has a HUGE new house in Orlando. Ashley got 1st pick of bedrooms (they pulled straws for it). Later, we were introduced to Jacob's girlfriend, Janie.
Episode 2: April 20, 2001
When the guys perform in Trevor's hometown, Rancho Cucamonga, he visits with his family and meets up with his ex, Kelly. She comes back with the guys to Orlando. When he's with Ashley, he tells him that when he saw Save the Last Dance he thought about how much he wanted love. He asks Kelly back out, but she says she doesn't want a boyfriend. When she goes back home, she calls Trev and says she wants to give love a try...O-Town goes and records "Girl". Jacob does an awesome leadd, but Clive says Jacob's voice sounds too "rock" and that it takes away from the group. Jacob says he doesn't want to be a backup singer and he doesn't want to change "Girl". The guys go to a photo shoot, but when Jacob is called for the individual shots, he protests and flips off the photographer. He goes as far to say he doesn't want to be in a boyband and storms off the set because pictures have nothing to do with making music. The rest of the guys worry that Jacob's actions will give the group a bad image.
