Life goes on - In Zekie's Memory
While we live on, and our dear sweet loves ones leave us far too soon, we must continue until it's our time to reach to them, and walk the Rainbow Bridge together. I'd like to touch on a few things such as getting involved in local rescue. Doesn't have to be golden rescue but any rescue. I live and deal with golden rescue, but if your heart is with another group, find them and volunteer. If you can foster, after all rescue can't do their work without foster homes.Golden Retriever Rescues across the United States can be found Click here to get to the Golden Retriever rescues.
Find out how you can help your local rescue. AZRR has a webpage with some hints which you can find By clicking here.
Why would you want to adopt a senior or special needs dogs? I think Zekie told us why, but here are more stories to help you step up and make a decision. Click here to read why! Another way to make a contribution is to talk to people, educate them on appropriate treatment of pets, talk to them about checking their pets and having wellness exams. Zekie's illness could easily have been fixed if it had been caught early enough.
If you have a dog with cancer, there are people out there to help. An email group called Canine Cancer is a wonderfully supportive group. They can help you by experience, with knowledge of what things have worked for them, as well as many other things. If you would like to have help dealing with your cancer patient, write an email to: I Want to Join the Canine Cancer Group
