With the addition of Roy High star Jenny Garcia and several others, Highlands' women's basketball team has bolstered its rebounding and scoring strength for the 2000-2001 campaign.
That should further free up the game of All-American post Becky Gonzales, who led the RMAC in scoring this past season after getting plenty of help in the paint from fab frosh power forward Kristin Branson.
Head coach Cindy Roybal never saw a shooter she didn't like, another plus about this year's recruits, who should work nicely to back up the 1998-99 season's most prolific three-point shooting squad. Point guard Angelic Trujillo and off guard Charity Kurley enter their senior season (Patricia Vigil is a junior) with high hopes of repeating that accomplishment.
