RMAC championship: New respect?

After having won the 2000 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference baseball title, the Highlands baseball team expected to have its season continue with an invitation to NCAA II regionals and a shot at the College World Series.

That invitation never came.

But while stronger tradition and more established names of a few other teams edged the Cowboys when it came time to dole out the regional invites, NMHU took a major step forward with its own dream season.  Bottom line:  if the 'Pokes can repeat as league champs in '01, that invitation mey be forthcoming...
