She's Got Me
This song was easy.

How do you put into words and music all the things you feel about your favorite person?  You can't.

But you can scratch at the surface a little.

This started as a couple rifs I stumbled on while monkeying with the guitar. I'm pretty sure I've heard either rif before, but don't think they are put together like this anywhere else.

The melody and words for the chorus came to me while I was out bicycling once.  The verses, on the other hand, were actual writing process poetry, honed in front of the microphone to make them singable.

This features my first guitar solo.  I tried to do one on the Martin, and another on the Gretsch, the same night.  I hated both of them and went to bed, figuring I would just write another verse.  I came back the next day and played them together, and thought, hey, not bad!  A little dub-in clean-up work, and tah dah, a guitar duet!
Nancy's painting skills seem to improve every time her brush hits the canvas.  The child's eyes pierce you here, so you barely notice the beautiful garden in the background.  You need to see the original to really appreciate it.
Here's a link to the mixdown of the song from April 4, 2004.  Once you get to my briefcase folder, you can right click the song title, and use save target as..., or just double click the song, and it should play (works best for high-speed connection)
The lyrics are here in a MSWord doc file.
