| This song is called the 'Intimidator.' I tried recording a song with this theme last year, but abandoned the project as un-workable. The theme of the song is inspired by our 'leadership' in the White House. Decisions are being made with the justifications commonly used by the neighborhood bully. If anyone feels that they are safer with that type of thinking at the healm, they are sadly and obviously misguided. Every third-grader can see that the type of thinking being used only breeds hatred and more violence. Do you really feel more secure, knowing that more people hate you now than ever before? Anyways, the song is a light and easy listen. It actually is somewhat incongruous. I added a break to cut into the monotony (and preach a little). Thanks to Ted for coming over and recording backing vocals. The tune is really a couple chord progressions back to back. The intro and ending are a flute/mandolin/12-string guitar trio. I tried doing the whole song like that, but thought it needed an edge, so I worked in some distorted electric guitar, etc. I wanted it a bit harder, but it started sounding pretty mushy, so I eased up on the distortion a bit, compromising on what you hear. I have a new system for posting songs. This link takes you to the directory where several songs are now located. You can use the following process for getting songs there - either right-click and use save target as.. from the pull down menu (for dial-up users) or just click on it to play it (this second method works best with high speed internet access). The lyrics are in a word file at this link. |
