New Limpopo Projects Investments Limited, NLPI is an investment company registered in Mauritius, held by New Limpopo Bridge Projects Ltd (Mr Zion Elani, Mr. Mordechai Tager). Old Mutual PLC., Sanlam Ltd., Nedbank Investment Bank Ltd., Gensec Ltd., as well as Rand Merchant Bank, being a financier. The shareholders, whose market cap is in excess of US$10billion, have considerable experience (through its subsidiaries) in financial engineering, management, construction and operation of infrastructure related projects. The company has been investing in Zimbabwe since the early 90's.
The company's policy is to initiate, promote develop and manage B.O.T (Build-Operate-Transfer)-based projects by providing the finance and management requirements. The company has already invested US$100 million in a toll bridge and a rail link project, while other projects are under evaluation.
The company is now at a stage of evaluating and tendering for other infrastructure related projects such as the Maputo airport in Mozambique and Zambia railways Limited in Zambia.
