Frodingham, an extract from Whites Gazeteer and directory of Lincolnshire 1842

Frodingham is a small village and township, on a bold declivity of the wolds, overlooking the vale of the Trent,9 miles W.N.W. of Brigg, and contains 73 souls and 964 acres. 15p, of land, but its parish is in the soke of Kirton and includes also Brumby, Crosby and Scunthorpe townships.  Chas. Winn, Esq., owns most of the soil, and is lord of the manor, and patron of the church (St. Lawrence) which was rebuilt, except the tower, in 1841, and has many memorials of the Healey family, formerly seated here.  The vicarage, valued in K.B. at £12. 16s. 8d., and now at £222, is enjoyed by the Rev. G. M. Hodgson who has 28a. 3r. 11p. of glebe, besides eight acres at Tetney, purchased with Queen Anne's bounty, and about 100 acres at Crosby and Scunthorpe, allotted in lieu of tithes at the enclosure, in 1809 and 1832.  The poor widows of the parish have £5. 16s. yearly, from £100 left by Thos. Williamson, in 1775, and £16 derived from the bequest of Widow King.
