trailer 75424 from 303024 and 61816 from 303040 have been moved from Shoeburyness to Simms metals in Cardiff for scrapping leaving only 303032 and trailer 75613 as the only remaining 303 vehicles

There is a replacement bus service operating between Wishaw, Shieldmuir, Motherwell and Bellshill as well as stations on the Motherwell - Cumbernauld. These services are being operated by Ex London Routemasters.

Chaos at Glasgow Central
This morning, there was total chaos on the Ayrshire lines as an overhead wire fell down outside Shields Depot. All electric trains from 8:30 onwards were cancelled with Ayr passengers having to catch the Girvan Train and Passengers for Paisley the Paisley Canal train. At the Canal station when the 9:08 from Glasgow arrived, there was a queue of at least 700 people waiting to board, the platform was full, the staircases were full and there was a queue on to the street. I doubt if everyone got on the train.

314's receive overhaul
orange 314's 209 and 214 have been in Glasgow Works for an overhaul. 209 is back in service with newly upholstered seats and repaint into a slightly nodernised SPT Carmine and cream livery. They have also took up the new SPT Rail branding. 314214 is expected to return to service shortly. I reckon 201 will be next as it has been sitting at Shields with panto down for a couple of weeks. This overhaul should extend the 314's working life by 5 years.

Work on reopening the line to Larkhall has began with portocabins and diggers in place in a piece of wasteland on the A72 just past M74 junction 7.

New branding for SPT
The Stations on the Ayrshire Line have been rebranded with all signs now having the SPT Rail logo on them. The same is starting to happen on the trains with a 156 now having the SPT Rail on its side.

322's soon to return south
the 5 322's currently covering the Edinburgh - North Berwick and Edinburgh - Glasgow via Carstairs services are due to return to England in April. Ex Virgin class 87's mark 3's and DVT's are supposed to be replacing them. Also a class 318 (318255) was on the 15.19 Central - North Berwick on the 16th February
