Just inside the palace
Alexis: Let�s take this corridor as far as it goes. Ned nods. She takes his hand. We haven�t heard from Nikolas yet so my guess is that they haven�t found anything. Ned nods, glancing down the corridor. She takes his arm. Let�s go. They begin to walk. Ned lets go of her arm walking closer to some of the pictures on the wall.
Ned: Are these all Romanovs?
Alexis: I don�t know Ned. She stops for a moment. Wait do you hear something? Ned glances over from the portrait he stopped in front of.
Ned: No I don�t think so. He glances back at the painting. Alexis walks down to the next corridor and peers down. Ned tears his glances away and begins walking. He passes Alexis not knowing she has stopped. I was thinking that this maybe the wrong place. This place is really strange and spooky but� Alexis? He turns around. Alexis what are you doing?
Alexis: I don�t know I keep hearing something.
Ned: I don�t here anything, let�s keep going.
Alexis: You keep going Ned. I�m just going to glance down here and I�ll catch up with you. Ned walks over and take her hand.
Ned: We should stay together.
Alexis: We have our whole lives to stay together. Let�s just separate, I�m sure we�ll meet up eventually.
Ned: I really don�t like this idea. Alexis touches his cheek.
Alexis: I know you don�t. She leans in and kisses him. But I hear this singing, I would like to follow it. Just let me follow it and we�ll meet up. He puts his arm around her waist and kisses her.
Ned: I love you.
Alexis: I love you too. Now go! He smiles and kisses her again. Then he leaves. She glances down her corridor and begins walking.

Back entrance to the palace
Stefan: Theory say this is how they made the royal family leave during the Revolution.
Kristina: Wow, really? It must have been very disgraceful to them. Stefan nods.
Stefan: The Bolsheviks not only wanted to rid the world of the royal family but they needed to put them in shame and ruin the reputation of the Romanovs. It was the only way to get the countrymen to follow them. They come to a crossway.
Kristina: Do you want to go left or right?
Stefan: Well this is Russia, Kristina, everything is always to the left. Kristina smiles. You and Alexis, you have the same smile. I never noticed that. Kristina blushes. It�s beautiful. You know, it�s a trait handed down from the Tsaress Alexandria. She was a beauty in her time, the most beautiful, powerful and wisest women in the world.
Kristina: I remember learning about her. I remember the love story of Nicholas and Alexandria.
Stefan: It was nothing less than perfect. He smiles. He takes her hand. Sometimes it�s better to live in the present. Tell me about life in the past few months.
Kristina: Alexis and I moved out of that apartment.
Stefan: Life I said. Alexis tried to get the most out of life and realized that all she ever wanted out of life was what she already had, invariably Ned Ashton. I just can�t seem to rid her of that man. Kristina smiles.
Kristina: You don�t like Ned?
Stefan: He�s a Quartermaine, although that�s beside the point. She loves him with all her heart. Many woman can fall in love more than once in their lives, but Alexis never will. She clearly loves Ashton and he�s the only man she�ll ever devote herself to. He�s her other half not matter if they�re fighting or joyously in love. It�s clearly not my decision.
Kristina: Well I�m glad you�ve given them a chance.
Stefan: I�ve come to realize it�s something I must learn to handle in order to keep my sister in my life. So how have you been in my absence?
Kristina: If you�re asking about my love life, Stefan Cassadine, you may just come out and ask it. Stefan smiles.
Stefan: I didn�t want to pry.
Kristina: You�re my brother I wouldn�t think it was prying. Speaking of, what have you been doing during your travels.
Stefan: I traveled all over the world, it was wonderful. I went on this long cruise and I happened upon this dark-haired woman. Even when I went to Greece she was there, but I was never bale to talk to her.
Kristina: Wow. That�s strange. She stops. Should we try this door? Stefan glances down the hallway.
Stefan: There are a lot of doors. He glances around. How about you try this one and I�ll try the next.

* The next few scenes all happen at the same time in the Romanov Palace*
Alexis walks down the corridor glancing behind her as she walks. She continues to hear the singing.
Alexis: Who is singing? Hello? Is someone there? She stops glancing around, noticing she is deep inside the palace by this point. She again hears the singing, it�s a Russian ballad. She sees a faint light up ahead. Hello? She walks briskly toward the light. Hello? In the distance she spies a young girl. The girl is leaning against the wall. Her legs are bunched up against her chest and she has her arms around her as she sings to herself. Hello? The girl looks up at her. Alexis gasps and takes a step back. She stares at the girl with the long caramel colored hair. The soft brown eyes and thin cheeks on the sweet face that looks back at her. My lord, she� She looks again. She looks like me!    She walks toward the girl slowly. Hello there. Quickly the girl grabs the door handle behind her and runs through the door.

Kristina steps slowly into the room. She closes the door behind her softly. She glances around the room.
Kristina: So this is a palace. She reaches down and touches the soft threads of the red and purple carpet. Very nice. She smiles thinking for a moment. Stefan cannot be telling the truth. I cannot be related to these people. Slowly she stands up. She walks up to the chair in the front of the room, careful not to muss up the carpet. What is this place? Surely this cannot be the throne room, I had heard that it was much larger than this. This is no bigger than my old room in Alexis�s apartment. She studies the throne for a moment. I wonder if this is pure gold. As she reaches out to touch the throne, the door slams open.
Man: What do you think you�re doing?! Kristina jumps back startled. She stares at the man holding a tray.
Kristina: I�m sorry, I just wanted to know� She glances around. Forget it. She stares at him again. You know English?
Man: Of course. The man is clearly angry. Kristina nods slowly. Now will you please leave!
Kristina: What room is this?
Man: What?
Kristina: This room, the one we�re in. It is a part of the castle of the Romanov�s. I was just wondering what room it is.
Man: Are you supposed to be here? Kristina stands there silent for a moment. How did you get in?
Kristina: The doors�
Man: There are no doors here, no entrances and more definitely no exits. He walks over and grabs her arm. Let�s go. Kristina yanks her arm back trying to break away from his grip, but it is too strong for her to handle.
Kristina: Let go! Stefan! Help me! The man stops yanking on her and just grips her arm. He stares at her for a moment.
Man: Did you just call for Stefan? Kristina bites her lip.
Kristina: (calmly) Would you just let go of my wrist?!
Man: Absolutely not! He yanks on her arm again and she realizes that she has no choice but to follow him. Glancing back at the beautiful room, Kristina follows the man out the door.

Ned continues walking down the hallway Alexis and he were on.
Ned: G-d I hope Alexis catches up with me soon. He shoves his hands in his pockets again as he continues to look at the pictures. Across the hallway he notices a mirror. Yeah they would have a mirror here. I didn�t even know the Romanovs had mirrors. He walks over to the mirror. Well I don�t look much different here. He glances again. Although I could use a small weight loss. He chuckles to himself. He listens for a moment hoping to hear the singing Alexis had heard. He is about to start walking again. Wait a minutes. He glances in the mirror again. He turns around and sees only a wall behind him. Hey, what is going on here? He turns back to the mirror. He stares deeper into the mirror. But that�s not what I see behind me. He stares again. Ned is able to make out that there is another room that he is seeing. It is clearly a library full of books although he cannot make out the titles on the spines. He notices a women walk into the room. Trying to see her, Ned stares hard into the mirror. Ned is now able to make out her body, her long, curly, blond hair and her long legs. A picture comes across his mind. He shakes his mind. No, it can�t be. He stares again. Dawn? He jumps back. No I must be seeing things. He turns away from the mirror. This place surely has me spooked, that can�t possibly be Dawn. He begins to walk away as he thinks. No, Dawn has been dead for over a decade. She�s not a Cassadine, she�s a Quartermaine and when Q�s die, we die.   We buried her. He shakes his head, trying to clear his mind. Give it up Ned� just keep going. He nods to himself and keep walking.

Stefan walks into a room that clearly is not made for a man. He notices the high bed and the numerous mirrors.
Stefan: What is this scene here? He walks over to the dresser. There are no pictures, no signs of the person that lives in the room. Whose habitation is this? He turns around to glance around the room, leaning slightly on the dresser. Surprisingly it begins to move. Well, what do we have here? He pushes on it as it turns like a door. He walks through it to a well-lightened room. Interesting� A door on the other side of the room opens.
Woman�s Voice: I�ll check on the newcomer again, but I really don�t think I should tell her the plan.
Woman�s Voice #2: Oh, dear dear, you needn�t worry. The first woman enters the room.
Woman 1: Well I�ll do as you please, as usual madam. She turns around. Oh my!
Woman 2: What is it Katya dear? Woman 2 steps just barely inside the room. She stares at Stefan.
Katya: Ma�am, who is this? Woman 2 walks toward Stefan who stands his ground. She touches his face.
Woman 2: Lose your way son? Stefan looks interested. Katya stares at Stefan, slightly afraid.
Stefan: I am not your child.
Woman 2: Darling, how did you manage your way into this room? Stefan is silent. May I ask your name?
Stefan: May I ask yours?
Woman: I am not a toy, don�t test me. Now, darling, you are Mikkos�s younger son, are you not?
Stefan: I am that, and you are Alexandria Quartermaine.
Alex: Cassadine, please. Stefan nods.
Stefan: Yes, I believe Hell rose up the day you joined this family.
Alex: It is still an unfortunate incident that you can call yourself a part of the family. Stefan presses his lips together. Katya, dear, will you take this gentleman to the drawing room? Katya nods. Stefan walks toward Katya giving Alexandria a menacing look as he leaves.

Alexis walks over to the door. She turns the knob slowly, looking behind her as she walks through the door.
Alexis: Great, another hallway. She glances around and notices the girl running away behind her. Wait! She begins to follow the girl. Wait! As she gets to the end of the hallway, the girl glances back to see Alexis following close behind. She picks up speed as she turns the corner.

After following the man through various (and sundry?) hallways, Kristina is forced through a door into a room that seems to be a dining room.
Kristina: Wait, hold on. She yanks her arm back and the halt. The man stares at her.
Man: What do you think you are doing?
Kristina: I didn�t mean to disturb what is going on here. That room was so beautiful. Can you tell me, please sir, please tell me, I just want to leave.
Man: But you haven�t seen everything yet. There are many more beautiful rooms here.
Kristina: Please, I do not want to meet the people that live here. She presses her lips together. The man studies her carefully.
Man: Who are you? Kristina stares at the man, wondering whether or not to trust him. As she glances around the room, Kristina notices there are no other doors. The man slowly lets go of her arm and Kristina decides that she really has no choice.
Kristina: I am Kristina Carter-Cassadine. May I ask your name? The man looks her over.
Man: But you are not related to the tsar?
Kristina: I do not wish to be. Please, if we work together� maybe we can get out of this.
Man: I have been here for too long, there is no getting out. He sighs. But maybe you can help someone else. He puts the tray down on the table.
Kristina: Why can�t you tell me your name?
Man: The tsar and tsarina call me Sergei. That is not my name fair miss.
Kristina: What is your name?
Sergei: I do not know. Madam I cannot tell you why I do not know my name, I hardly understand it myself. Kristina takes his hand.
Kristina: Well then Sergei, I would like to get you out of here so that you can remember your old life.
Sergei: I am afraid to. The tsar and tsarina take very good care of me and since I cannot remember that time, it is hardly a good idea to go back to it. Possibly though, if you could help, the newcomer could remember their old life.
Kristina: Why do you call them that? Sergei stares at her confused. Do they think that they are the tsars?
Sergei: Of course they are madam.
Kristina: No, hun, they are not. She lets go of his hand and walks to the other side of the room. She gazes at a painting on the wall. You may call me Kristina.
Sergei: How I would love to, but madam, I fear for you if someone were to hear me. She turns to gaze on Sergei.
Kristina: What was that room?
Sergei: It is the tsaress�s private throne room. When she has a decision to hand out, especially when it is upon one of it, she has madam Katya bring us into that room.
Kristina: You are the second person to have saved my life so far.
Sergei: You may claim to be related to the tsar but I can tell that deep down, your character is nothing like his. Kristina smiles. Your fieriness may be abundant but it does not lead to evil.
Kristina: Are you afraid of the tsar?
Sergei: Every day of my life. Kristina walks over to him and takes his hands. Please, ma�am, may I take you to see the newcomer? Kristina stares up into his blue eyes.
Kristina: Yes, Sergei, lead me the way. Smiling, Sergei squeezes her hand. They walk over to the clock and he pushes it to reveal a tunnel. They walk in.

Ned, feeling very self conscious, begins to sing softly as he walks down the corridor. He thinks back to the days after Lois had left with Brooke. He remembers sitting next to her empty cradle, singing to her, hoping that somewhere, she could hear his message.
Ned: Darling Brooke, I will be home to you soon. He glances up to the heavens and smiles. Yes, Brooke, I know you feel my love. Sighing, Ned continues to walk again. He notices another mirror and walks over. I do hope this one does not make me hallucinate. Ned stares in expecting to see the same image as before, but does not see that. Instead, he sees a room filled with toys. Ned spies a woman sitting on the ground on the left side of the room. She holds a doll in one arm as she piles legos with another. I wonder who this is. Ned stares in deeper. He is able to make out long, dark brown hair. The woman seems to be of a smaller stature and very thin. Brenda! He stares deeper. Oh my g-d! He jumps back. Shaking his head. This can�t be happening! Glancing around, Ned sees no one. I don�t understand� how am I hallucinating like this? He rubs his forehead. Refusing to look into the mirror, Ned begins to walk further down the hallway. This better lead me somewhere!

Stefan follows Katya down another long hallways.
Stefan: This is clearly a Romanov palace, all these long corridors. Katya glances back at him but says nothing. Stefan clears his throat. Spying something interesting up ahead, Stefan strains his eyes to get a better look. However, Katya turns to walk the other way.
Katya: Sir, this way, please. Stefan nods and turns to follow but as he glances back he again realizes he wants to follow where his gaze is taking him. He runs toward Katya pushing her to the ground, hard and runs the opposite way. Stefan glances back to make sure Katya is still laying on the ground as he runs in the direction he desires. He comes up to a door with a small light flickering from underneath. Stefan tries the handle but is does not turn.
Stefan: Surprising. He takes out his pocket knife and goes to work on the door. Finally he is able to pry the lock open and turns the knob. A man is in the room. He sits in a chair with his hands tied behind his back. As the man looks up at him, Stefan recognizes the man. Jasper Jacks?
Jax: Stefan. Jax smiles. I had hoped for Ned or Alexis, but you will do fine. Come let, untie these ropes. Stefan nods and walks over to untie the ropes.
Stefan: Where is my nephew?
Jax: Hiding hopefully. Tony and Alex don�t know that he�s here, but I�m sure if they find out he�ll be killed immediately.
Stefan: How did you get separated?
Jax: We had found the most of the other prisoners, when Katya squealed on us and Tony and Alex came running. I told Nikolas to find somewhere to hide and get out of the palace as soon as possible. The prisoners again went about their businesses and I was caught by Tony.
Stefan: Why did you bring him, when you knew he was in trouble?
Jax: He decided to come, he�s 25, I can�t tell him what to do. Anyways, it wasn�t until we get here that I realized that they were after Nikolas more than Peter. Stefan finishes untying Jax and Jax stand up, rubbing his wrists.
Stefan: Tell me about these prisoners.
Jax: It�s unbelievable, they don�t even know their past lives. Some of them seem very familiar but� It�s all very strange.
Stefan: Why are they here?
Jax: I don�t know. They don�t even consider themselves prisoners.
Stefan: Hmmm� Have you found Chloe?
Jax: I�m still looking.
Stefan: You were doing a lot of looking in here!
Jax: Oh, right, that was my fault! It�s your crazy family! Stefan crosses arms.

Alexis notices that if she keeps following the girl, its either a dead end or the boilers. The girl gets to the dead end and bangs on the wall crying.
Alexis: Hun, don�t worry. I�m not going to hurt you! The girl turns back to Alexis, leaning against the wall and sobbing. Alexis walks up the girl. Kneeling down to the girl�s height, Alexis looks up into the girl�s eyes. Hi there. I�m Alexis. I�m not going to hurt you. Can you tell me your name?
Girl: Marie.
Alexis: Hi Marie, don�t be afraid.
Marie: How did you get here?
Alexis: I came through the entrance from the outside.
Marie: There is no entrance. Alexis tugs on Marie�s sleeve thinking.
Alexis: Why are you here, Marie?
Marie: I live in the basement. I�m not allowed upstairs.
Alexis: Where are your mom and dad?
Marie: Mom and Dad live upstairs. They don�t like to have me around. I was a mistake. Alexis bites her lip, knowing that all of this is familiar to her.
Alexis: Marie, will you show me how to go upstairs.
Marie: I can�t go the way everyone else goes, do you want to go the back way?
Alexis: That�s fine. She stands up and takes Marie�s hand.
Marie: Alexis?
Alexis: What, hun?
Marie: Will you stay with me? Marie looks up at Alexis. Alexis gazes down at Marie�s deep brown eyes, so full of hope.
Alexis: Of course I will.

Kristina and Sergei enter a room, only half painted.
Sergei: The newcomer came so unexpectedly. A woman walks over to them.
Kristina: Hi, I�m Kristina.
Woman: Are you new too?
Sergei: There�s only one newcomer at a time. The woman nods.
Woman: I�m Chloe Morgan� She glances up at Sergei. Well, for the moment anyways.
Kristina: Oh Chloe! You�re the woman we�re here for!
Chloe: Who are you here with?
Kristina: Ned, Alexis and Stefan.
Chloe: Stefan? Where�s Jax?
Kristina: We don�t know, he came out here with Nikolas a while ago.
Chloe: So, Kristina, how do I know you?
Kristina: I�m Alexis�s sister. Jax found me and brought me back to town the day you died.
Chloe: Interesting choice of words. Where�s Alexis? Where�s Ned? I�m dying to see them.
Kristina: There�s another interesting choice of words. Chloe smiles.
Chloe: You do remind me slightly of your sister.
Sergei: Madam is related to the tsar and tsaress. Chloe rolls her eyes.
Chloe: These people. Kristina, you have to get me out of here or I�ll end up like him, not knowing my name or my past and living in the past.
Kristina: That�s the plan, but we have to find the others. I want to get Sergei out of here too.
Chloe: There�s a lot more where he came from.
Kristina: How many? Chloe looks up at Sergei.

Ned is still wandering down the hallway.
Ned: This palace is crazy. Alexis! He receives no reply. So obviously she�s not coming back. He continues to walk. Man, there�s another mirror. Maybe it�s the mirrors that are hypnotizing me. Somehow, he cannot seem to keep himself from walking up to the mirror and looking in. It looks like its just me again. He stares for a moment. Maybe not. This time Ned sees a large room with many beds. There is a man sitting on one bed whittling away at a piece of wood. The man seems much older. He has grayish-brown hair. His brown eyes seem very tired as the man whittles as if in a trance.
Ned: He looks so familiar. Ned stares at him for a moment hoping something will come to him. I can�t remember who that is. Ned sighs rubbing his forehead. He glances up at the mirror again. Whoever you are, I�m not really seeing you. My mind is playing tricks on me and I know that. I�d better go find Alexis. He sighs, giving the mirror one last glance.

Stefan: Will you show me where those prisoners are?
Jax: I don�t know how to get there from here. Stefan sighs.
Stefan: Well we�d better go searching, shouldn�t we? Jax nods. Stefan puts his pocket back in his pocket and walks out the door.
Jax: What did you do to Katya?
Stefan: Would you had rather me go with Katya to see my uncle, or save your life? Jax rolls his eyes. He squats and checks Katya�s pulse.
Jax: She should be okay. Stefan nods. Jax stands and looks around. That direction looks familiar.
Stefan: Let�s go then.

Chloe: You ready Kristina? Kristina nods. Chloe glances up at Sergei, who nods and opens the door. Chloe and Kristina walk into a large room filled with beds. There are about ten people in the room who turn and stare at Chloe and Kristina.
Sergei: The newcomer has brought this young madam Kristina. The young woman is here to take us away from here. Another door opens and Marie walks in with Alexis close behind.
Kristina: Alexis! Alexis looks up shocked to hear the sound of her sister�s voice. She sees Chloe.
Alexis: Chloe?! Chloe smiles broadly and runs toward her friend.
Chloe: Alexis!   They reach each other and hug tightly. Oh, my Alexis, I�ve waited so long for this moment! They lean back, staring at one another, with their arms still around each other.
Alexis: Chloe, I�ve missed you sooo much. When we got that letter, I was just so exited.   Alexis winces.
Chloe: What is it?
Alexis: Just a few broken ribs. Chloe lets go of her friend and they sit down on and empty bed. Kristina watches from a distance.
Chloe: When Sergei brought Kristina to see me, she said she was your sister.
Alexis: Jax brought her back to me. I can tell you that story, but not now. Chloe nods.
Chloe: Then she said that you were here, and I just couldn�t wait to see you. She smiles again. And now you�re here. It�s like a dream come true.
Alexis: Chloe, you are my best friend. It�s been a nice year but something was missing, you were missing. I�m so happy to have found you again. They smile and hug again. Marie walks over and touches Alexis�s shoulder.
Marie: Alexis, I shouldn�t be up here. Alexis takes Marie�s arms and pulls her down next to her. Alexis puts an arm around Marie.
Alexis: Marie, I will protect you.
Chloe: You should listen to her, she�ll do anything for someone who is important to her.
Marie: I am important to you. Alexis smiles.
Alexis: Yes you are. She squeezes Marie�s shoulder. Marie, this is my good friend Chloe. Chloe, this is my good friend Marie. She�s 12.
Chloe: Hello Marie.
Marie: (softly) Hi. She looks down. Alexis looks pained. She remembers when she was young and was introduced to people. She remembers how scared she was of everyone.
Kristina: Where�s Ned? Alexis looks up at her sister, suddenly remembering that she is there.
Alexis: I left him when I heard Marie�s singing. I don�t know where she went. Where�s my brother?
Chloe: Stefan�s here?
Alexis: Yes, but he has been instructed to let you be. Chloe nods. Another door opens and Stefan and Jax walk in. Chloe and Alexis both raise their eyebrows.
Chloe: And Stefan�s with Jax? Alexis shrugs, obviously confused. Both men walk over to the women.
Jax: So you finally made it? Alexis rolls her eyes. Hey Chloe. She smiles.
Chloe: Hi Jax. I�m so glad you came. When I got that letter out, I wasn�t sure you would ever come.
Jax: Nothing would keep Alexis or I or Ned away. Speaking of Ned�
Alexis: I don�t know where he went.
Chloe: Hello Stefan.
Stefan: Hello. Kristina walks over and Stefan puts an arm around her. So these are the prisoners. They glance around. A fourth door slams open.
Ned: This is what that hall leads too?!
Alexis: Ned! He looks over at her and smiles. She stands. He walks straight over to her and they hug. He keeps his arms around her waist as they smile at each other.
Ned: I love you. She cups his face in her hands and kisses him. Chloe sighs happily.
Chloe: I see that at least they have gone back to normal. They turn around, both smiling happily.
Ned: Hey Chloe.
Chloe: Hello, my favorite ex-husband. Ned lets go of Alexis long enough to hug Chloe. Alexis sits down again and puts her arm around Marie. Ned glances around. Tony has been kidnapping these people for years.
Ned: Hey I recognize him. He walks over to the man he has seen in the mirror. The man is still sitting on the bed, whittling. Hello. The man looks up at him.
Man: Hello. Can I help you?
Ned: I�m Ned Ashton, who are you?
Man: Igor. Ned furrows his eyebrows.
Ned: Wow that doesn�t sound familiar.
Sergei: It�s not his name, but it�s the only name her remembers. Ned turn around and stares at Sergei.
Ned: Frisco? Sergei stares at Ned slightly startled. You�re Frisco aren�t you? Ned walks toward Sergei.
Sergei: They call me Sergei, I don�t know who I am. Ned slaps Sergei on the back.
Ned: Frisco Jones! It has been a long time. I�d never forget a face like yours. Kristina walks over to Frisco and smiles up at him.
Kristina: I told you I could help you, I brought my friends. Frisco smiles down at Kristina. Now you know who you are.
Sergei: (carefully) I� am� Fris-co� Frisco Jonesssss�. He thinks to himself. I am Frisco Jones. He smiles. I like that. Do you remember my life? The fab four glance at each other.
Ned: Of course I do. Do you know how you got here? Frisco shakes his head. Kristina takes Frisco�s hand. Frisco smiles.
Frisco: But it was all worth it� He runs a hand through Kristina�s hair.
Ned: So all these people have different names? Frisco nods. Wow. He walks over to Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Stefan. So what do we do now? The first door opens again.
Alex: What a wonderful question dear! Alexandria walks in followed by an unhappy Luke, Laura and Felicia.
Alexis: Luke? What happened? Luke glances at Alex.
Luke: That happened. He sighs. Felicia stares at Frisco with his arm around Kristina.
