Waiting Room Mac: So tell me what happened? Julia: I don�t know. I came home to my apartment and it was unlocked and all the lights were on. I looked down and saw Alexis lying on the ground unconscious. She was bleeding. Mac: Any signs of forced entry? Taggert: Not a bit. It seems that Ms. Davis opened the door to whoever her attacker was. Mac writes this down. Is she going to be all right? Mac looks up at Julia. Julia: The doctors said she should be fine but it�s going to be a rough couple of weeks. Mac touches her arm. Mac: We�re going to do everything we can to find out who did this. Julia nods. Julia: She was in the middle of a trial. Taggert: What trial? Julia: Umm� something about Skye Quartermaine. She was suing for malpractice I think. Taggert and Mac glance at each other. Taggert: Was she representing Ms. Chandler-Quarmertaine? Julia: No this doctor, Jake Caldwell. I think they were involved. Taggert: Alexis? He glances at Mac. Julia nods. Well thank you Ms. Barrett if there�s anything else you can tell us you know where to get a hold of us. Julia nods and walks away. Mac: Alexis was dating her client? Taggert: Better find out all we can on this Jake Caldwell. Also, find out where Ned Ashton was. Mac: Wouldn�t Ned go after Caldwell? Taggert shrugs. Taggert: You can never be too careful. Mac: But Ned�s in with her now. Besides, Alexis should wake up soon. She�ll be able to tell us who did this. Taggert nods. Then back to the Quartermaine case. Felicia seems to think we�re missing something. Taggert: Do you want to get your wife to let us know what we�re missing? Mac: Ex-wife and you know she�s not going to just tell us. She got to make us want it. Taggert: Well I don�t want it. Let�s go. Mac nods and they leave. Basketball Court Lucky: You�re not so bad, Courtney. Courtney: I believe I beat you pretty badly. They hug. Good game anyways. Susan: You should play college ball. Courtney: I would if I went to college. Susan: None of you go to college? Peter: Toby and I went to Harvard. We�re going to transfer to Columbia because it�s closer to here. Liz: I was planning on going to art school� Susan: I can�t believe it. Mom and Dad would have killed me if I didn�t go to college. Gia: I used to go to Columbia until I ran away from it. It was fun but I don�t know I felt kinda stupid around most of those people. Courtney: Do you think I could play for the PCU team? Susan: I�m sure you could. They�re really good but so are you. But if you don�t think you could pay for college� Courtney glances at the rest. Courtney: I might know someone who could pay for my college. Liz: You�re not going to ask Sonny for the money? Courtney shrugs. Toby: Sonny Corinthos? Lucky: You know of Sonny Corinthos? Toby: I do read the news. He�s in it a lot and he lives in Port Charles. Lucky nods. Susan: I really think you guys should continue your education. Lucky: And do what with it? Susan: Well I�m going into politics or law but there�s medicine, business, PCU has every major. Liz: We should do it. My parents would be so happy, now that my sister�s a doctor of course. Gia: I don�t know if I could go back in, besides Nikolas isn�t going to do it. Courtney: So do something without the prince for once. Liz: Wait a second, is Olivia going too? Courtney: If she wants. Liz purses her lips. Alexis�s Room Bobbie: Now the surgery went smoothly but she�s still going to be a little groggy. Just give her sometime. Okay? Ned nods. Ned: Thank you Bobbie. Bobbie smiles. Bobbie: Sure. She walks over to the side of the bed. Alexis? Alexis hun it�s me, Bobbie. Can you open your eyes? Slowly Alexis open her eyes. Hey there. Bobbie takes her hand and smiles. Do you know where you are? Alexis: Hospital? Bobbie nods. Bobbie: Yeah but we�re going to fix you up and make you feel so much better. I�m going to go check on another patient and then I�ll bring Tony in so we can talk about your care. Okay? Alexis nods. Good. You mind if I leave you with Ned here? Alexis shakes her head. Okay then. She looks at Ned. She�s all yours. Ned nods. Bobbie leaves. Ned pulls a chair over to the side of the bed and sits down. Ned: Hey hun, how are you feeling? Alexis: Like I was hit by a truck. She rubs her forehead trying to clear the fog in her brain. Ned: When I got the call, I was so worried. He takes her hand. I never imagined this. I felt like I couldn�t breathe. Alexis: I�m fine Ned. Now you can leave. Ned: I don�t want to leave. I never want to leave you again. Alexis I will make room for everything that comes along with you but I want to be with you forever and ever. Alexis: That�s all I�ve ever wanted Ned� Ned: And you�ll get rid of Jake? Alexis furrows her eyebrows for a moment. Alexis? She takes a deep breath. Alexis did he do this to you? Tears well up in her eyes. Ned stands and kisses her on the forehead. I will help you in any way I can. She closes her eyes for a moment. Alexis: I knew you would come. I kept thinking that everything would be all right because you would come and you would save me. Ned: And I would have Alexis, you know that. Alexis: I was so scared and I was trying to pretend I wasn�t. I hoped that he would go away if I pretended I was fine. The tears begin to roll down her cheeks. I�m sorry, I�m so sorry Ned I should have listened to you. Ned touches her cheek and kisses the other cheek. Ned: Alexis. Alexis: I remember when I was young and Helena would come in. Afterwards I would just lie on my bed singing to myself and Stefan would just pet my hair saying over and over.... He would sit there are say over and over I�m so sorry, so sorry Alexis. He would cry more than I would. Ned: Alexis, I�m sorry too. Alexis: I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything would turn out okay. Ned: Everything�s going to turn out okay from now on Alexis. I won�t ever let anything happen to you again. I promise. She reaches up and touches his face. He leans in and kisses her. Now you need your sleep. Alexis: You�ll stay? Ned: I�ll be here when you go to sleep and when you wake up. I�m never leaving again. Alexis smiles softly and closes her eyes. Luke�s Office Luke: Jenny my love, how wonderful to see you again. They hug. I can see you�ve been busy. He slaps Paul on the back. Paul shrugs. He walks back over to his desk and pours himself a drink. So how has life been treating you man? Paul: All is well, nice house, quite a few kids. Luke: Eh? You should tell Sly to go find my boy. I remember when they were like peas in a pod. Jenny raises an eyebrow. Paul: Yeah I�ll do that. Felicia: I took them to see Ned. Luke downs his drink glancing around. Luke: So? Felicia: So what? Luke: How�d he take it? Felicia: Well he said he wanted to speak to you. He�s got something else in mind. Luke glances up at her very interested. It will probably be a little while, Alexis is in the hospital. Luke slams down his glass. Luke: Alexis? Why what happened? Felicia: Apparently that new guy she was seeing attacked her. Luke rubs his forehead pouring himself another drink. Luke: Is she okay? Felicia: I don�t know. All I�ve got is what Mac told me. Luke glances up at Paul and Jenny. Luke: Well I should go see what Ned has in mind. I�ll get back to you if I find anything out. Paul and Jenny nods. Alexis�s Room Tony: The preliminary tests look very good Alexis. We were able to tape up that broken rib and your concussion seems to be clearing up well. Other than that there�s no real physical damage. He glances at Bobbie. Bobbie: However General Hospital would be willing to off you their mental and emotional health services. I can recommend someone. Alexis: Is this because my family owns the hospital? Bobbie: Alexis, hun, it has nothing to do with that. Jake hurt you in more ways than we�ll even know. Alexis nods. Ned: Do you want me to get Kevin Collins for you? Alexis: No. I�m fine, I�ve been through worse before. Ned sighs, putting his hands in his pockets. Kristina looks down upset. Tony: I can release you once these last x-rays come back. Alexis smiles. Alexis: That would be great! Stefan: Make sure you do all you can for my sister before you do that Dr. Jones. They all turn around to see Stefan walking through the door. Staring over at Alexis, he walks straight to her bedside. She opens her arms to him and they hug. He looks down at her petting her hair for a moment. I should never have left you. Alexis: I can take care of myself Stefan. Stefan: And I see how well that worked. Kristina: Stefan, Alexis isn�t a child. I trusted him too, as did Julia. Steafn sighs taking Alexis�s hand. He glances around from Tony to Bobbie to Kristina to Ned and to Peter. Stefan: Alexis? Alexis: Well I�m glad you showed up. She follows Stefan�s eyes and glances at Ned. Stefan: Alexis? Alexis: Stefan, you remember Peter. He glances down at Alexis. Stefan: Tony�s son? Alexis nods. Stefan smiles, walks over to Peter and hugs him. Alexis: I know I should have told you that Peter was still alive. Stefan: You saved his life? Alexis nods. I�m not upset. Between Kristina and Peter, you�ve saved our family from my mother. He puts his arm around Peter and smiles. Peter: It was your mother who was after me? Alexis purses her lips and stares up at Stefan. Stefan: Peter, everyone was after you son. Nikolas was not conceived and so you were the only one of the next generation. Why are you pushing this? Alexis: Tony and Alex are alive. Stefan raises his eyebrows. Nikolas and Jax are in Russia right now because they have Chloe. Stefan: You sent Nikolas? Ned: Nikolas volunteered! Alexis: No matter. When I am released I plan to go out to Russia to help them with anyone who plans to join me. Outside Old Romanov Palace Jax: So you think they�re hiding Chloe in the old palace? Nikolas shrugs. Don�t you think that would be kinda obvious? Nikolas: It�s the best I can think of and until my aunt is well enough to come here, you�re gonna have to take some direction from me. Jax: I don�t usually take directions from anyone, not even Alexis. Nikolas: What�s important to you here Jax? Jax stares at him confused. Is it pride, is is saving face for Alexis, what is it? Jax: You think I came because I want to make Alexis proud of me? Nikolas shakes his head. It�s Chloe, you know that. Nikolas: Good then let�s try to find her. Jax walks up to the boarded up entrance. He peers inside. See anything? Jax: Did you think I would? Nikolas shrugs. No nothing. Maybe we should go around to another entrance. Nikolas: This one is fine I�m sure. He hands Jax a flashlight. Jax plays around with it for a second. Jax: Do you think Alexis was lying when she said she was okay? Nikolas: You�re worried about her? Jax shrugs. Jax: She�s a friend of mine. Nikolas scraps the groud with his foot, putting his hands in his pockets. Nikolas: Alexis wants to come out and help, nothings going to get in the way of it. Alexis�s Room Ned: Just because they�re letting you out, doesn�t mean you have to go running to Russia. Alexis: I�m not going to argue this with you Ned. I know you want to protect me but there�s not other way around it. This is my family and I must deal with it. I just hope that you say you�ll come along. Kristina glances up at Ned who scowls. Luke: Well I would like to say I�d join you but I wasn�t invited. Alexis smiles. Stefan rolls his eyes. Stefan: No one wants to invite you Luke. Alexis: Actually I would like to invite you Luke, that�s why Ned told you to come over. Luke: What�s up, Tash? Alexis: Luke if you�re going to be obnoxious, I�m not gonna to tell you. Luke sits on the edge of the bed. Disgusted, Stefan walks out the door. Luke: You�ve got my attention, love. Alexis smirks. Alexis: Tony and Alex are alive. Luke: This is craziness. It�s like one Cassadine after another. Can�t you guys handle dying ever? Alexis shrugs. Alexis: They�ve got Chloe. Luke: Shit. Between that and Tracy� Alexis: We, Kristina, Stefan, Ned and I are going to Russia to help Nikolas and Jax who are already there. Would you care to join us? Luke: You know I�m all for mission impossible Alexis, but do we have any idea what we�re doing? Alexis: Do we ever? Luke: Well I suppose I should go then� He thinks for a moment. I�ll see if I can get a crew together and meet you there. Ned: I think your son�s going. Luke: Lucky? Why would he go? Alexis: Peter, who I guess I should tell you is Tony and Alex�s son, is planning on bringing a crew down too. Luke: Don�t you think they�re a little young? Alexis: Not any older then when you killed my father. Luke nods. Luke: Who�s this Peter taking? Ned: Hopefully not my cousin� He�s dating Emily. Alexis: Nikolas said they were planning on checking out the old palace and we should meet them there. The four of us are flying out as soon as I can get out of here. We�ll see you then? Luke nods. Hotel Room in St. Petersburg Ned: I�m glad I have a classy gal along with me that wants to spend the night in the nicest hotel in St. Petersburg before going off in search of the ghosts of the past. Alexis walks over to the couch and sit down. Alexis: What else could be better? He smiles and sits down on the couch. Ned: There�s something I wanted to talk about before we go into the depths of hell. Alexis roll her eyes. I want to discuss us. Alexis stares at him for a moment and then takes his hand. Alexis: All my life I�ve been independent. Stefan would try to take care of me and time and again I would run away from that until I finally ran so far I came to America. Ned interlocks his finger with hers. Ned: And now? Alexis: Kristina came and tried to take care of me and you can see how well that went. So finally I met Jake who didn�t want to take care of me, he liked me for who I was, or at least I thought. And when I realized I was wrong, I knew you were right, you don�t want to live my life for me you just want to keep me safe. Ned: That�s all I�ve ever wanted. Alexis: I also knew that my relationship with Jake was as over as soon as I started. When I gave my heart to you I meant it Ned. I love you with all my heart and you are the only man I�ll ever love. It doesn�t matter what happens in life, you can be angry, date my sister, go off and marry Lois, it doesn�t matter because I will always love you. That�s my truth. He leans in and kisses her. She lays her head on her shoulder and sighs. Ned: You�re right about that, the only thing I want is for you to be safe, and when I saw you lying in that hospital bed I knew I had failed at my mission. While I couldn�t understand what you could see in a man like Jake, I never realized that you couldn�t love him. Maybe because it�s that besides all our problems you are my soul mate. She smiles. We understand each other so inherently that it almost becomes a problem. When we�re doing something we don�t want to do, we get angry with the other for trying to talk us out of it, because we really want to give in. Deep down you knew that Jake was trouble didn�t you? Alexis thinks for a moment. Alexis: I suppose I must have. When I was in this hospital I would sit and think about all the things I should have noticed about Jake and there were many. I guess I just never saw them because I wanted to believe that if you could love someone else so could I. Ned: But I couldn�t love anyone else. She turns around to face him. He reaches up and draws a line along the side of her face. I love you Alexis. She leans over and kisses him. He wraps his arms around her kissing her back and the kisses grow deeper and deeper. |
