| Waiting Room Nikolas: Emily I would like you to meet Courtney Matthews, Courtney, this is my best friend, Emily Quartermaine. Courtney: Quartermaine? Like she�s related to these rich millionaires. Emily: Somehow. It�s nice to meet you Courtney. Courtney: Same here. Lucky: So we�re now becoming friends with thieves. Courtney looks sheepish. Liz: Hey, we�ve already become friends with former blackmailers. Gia shrugs. So, why not former thieves? Courtney: So definitely former. Liz smiles. Liz: Of course. Lucky hugs Emily and then Liz does. Lucky: So how does it feel to be walking again? Emily: Oh it�s wonderful. Nikolas: So what is this I hear about a new boyfriend? Emily smiles. Emily: He can�t come until tomorrow but he will be here. His brother is coming too, so maybe there�s hope for you Courtney. Courtney: Hey I�m not here to meet a guy. Liz: So tell me, what�s his name? What�s he like? Emily: Oooh interest! Well I think you may have to wait until tomorrow because I would like to go see my grandparents now. Liz: Oh fine! Be that way! Emily smiles. She touches Nikolas on the arm and walks away. Nikolas watches her walk away. Gia yanks on his arm and he looks at her and smiles faintly. Lucky: Wow she looks great, how did you know she was coming in? Nikolas: I didn�t, she called me on my cell and asked me to pick her up. Liz: Well it�s wonderful to see her. Nikolas: Yeah� ICU Waiting Room Kristina leans with her back against the wall and her eyes closed. Jax: Kristina? She opens her teary eyes and looks at him. Kristina: I didn�t know. I mean as much as I tried to get them to realize they were still in love with each other I never really let myself imagine that they were. Jax reaches up and strokes Kristina�s cheek. Jax: You couldn�t see it because they weren�t letting themselves see it. I wish you had always been around. There�s so much more you could have gotten out of life, and you would have seen how beautiful their love was. Now, I�m trying to not to believe that there�s only one right person for everybody. Kristina: Because of Chloe? Jax: Well that and Brenda. But anyways I do believe it is possible that you and Ned are right for each other too, but don�t you think that we should give them a chance to get back what they had? Kristina: How do you know that this is what Ned wants? Jax: Because I know Ned better than he realizes. I�m not a guy who normally has friends that are guys, but Ned�s different. You know that and I know that. What we all want, you, me, Alexis and his family. We just want him to be happy. Kristina nods, tears streaming down her face. So if he says no to Alexis and wants to stick with you, Alexis and I will let him, because that will make him happy. But first we have to give him and Alexis a chance. Kristina: I know that. She wipes her eyes with the back of her hand. Jax�s cell phone rings. Jax: Jax here. You were able to get a hold of her? Soon, when? Yeah that should work. She�s what? Oh I didn�t realize. Fine. Sure that works. Hangs up. Looks back at Kristina. You going to be okay? Kristina: Yeah, uh I�m sure that I can find Nikolas somewhere around here. Maybe he can� She looks up at Jax. Yeah I�ll be fine. She nods. Jax smiles slightly. Jax: Okay well I�ll check back with you later. Sonny�s Room Sonny: Hey Courtney. Courtney walks over to the side of the bed. Courtney: Hey Sonny. Are you feeling okay? Sonny: Oh I�m fine. He winces. Well, I will be, its nothing I haven�t been through before. Courtney nods. Are you doing okay? Courtney: Yeah I�m fine. Alexis and Kristina brought me here and I�ve been hanging around in the waiting room with Carly and Zander and Nikolas. Sonny: That�s good. Courtney: I don�t know what to say, I mean I�ve never visited someone in the hospital. Sonny: You don�t have to say anything, I�m glad you came. It�s good to hear you�re making friends. Courtney: Well I guess. At least Carly isn�t attacking me this time. Sonny smiles. Sonny: She�ll be okay. Alexis knocks on the door. Alexis: How are you doing? Sonny: Well I�ve felt better before; of course I�ve also felt worse. She smiles slightly. Don�t worry I�m fine. Alexis: (defeated) That�s good. Courtney, I�m glad to see that you were able to get in here. Courtney: Yeah I didn�t have a problem, your nephew let me in. Alexis: So you�ve met Nikolas. Good, otherwise I�d have to introduce you. She pauses watching Sonny for a moment. Well, I�m glad to see you�re doing all right. I guess I�ll go back to Ned�s room now. Sonny: Alexis. She turns around. Thanks for coming. Alexis: No problem, anyone would be worried about a friend. She smiles slightly and leaves the room. Courtney: She�s very worried about Ned, and I don�t even know who that is. Sonny shrugs. So tell me about Emily Quartermaine. Lila�s Room Emily: Hello Grandmother. Lila: Oh Emily, it�s lovely to see you dear. I�ve missed you so much. Emily hugs her and sits on the edge of the bed. Emily: So how are you feeling? Lila: My dear, I�m 81 years old, it�s unlikely that I�m going to feeling in perfect shape anytime soon. But for the moment I feel wonderful. Emily: That�s good to hear. Lila: How are you dear? Emily: Oh wonderful. I love being back here in Port Charles, besides the fact we have nowhere to live. Lila: Your father says that you�ll be living in the Port Charles Hotel. Emily: Yeah, just until they build a new house. Lila: Well it should be lovely there. And you�ve seen your friends? Emily: Oh yes, I missed them so much! Lila: That�s wonderful. It�s good to see you so happy dear. Emily: That�s my intention, to never be incredibly unhappy again! Lila: Well I hope that works out for you. By the Remains of the Q Mansion Mac: Man it�s cold! Why did this have to happen on such a cold day? Taggert: You think they planned it for the weather? Mac: No, of course not. Garcia: Well that�s good Comissioner. Mac blows on his hands. Felicia: So boys, any ideas? Mac turns around to face her, smiling. Mac: Felicia! What are you doing here? Felicia: I thought you boys could use some help. And I thought that you could use some coffee. She hands him a cup and he takes it gladly. So do you guys have any ideas? Taggert: Helena? Sonny? Garcia: We never seem to tire of suspecting the same people. Mac: There are problems with those ideas: Helena�s behind bars and Sonny was in the bombing. Garcia: But he came out all right. Taggert: Maybe he went to the mansion at the wrong time? Mac: Not likely. Sonny�s good, he�s very good. Felicia: So what are you thinking Mac? Mac: It�s gotta be something I�m not looking at� Taggert: Well obviously it�s someone who doesn�t like the Quartermaines. Mac: Very good Taggert, next obvious answer. Garcia: Once the teams are done looking maybe we�ll come up with something. Mac: Felicia? Felicia: Well as I have already done, find out every non-family member that visits one of them in the hospital or at the hotel. Mac raises his eyebrows. Sometimes amateurs like check out their work afterwards. Mac: And so far? Felicia: Not much. Mostly Cassadines: Kristina, Nikolas, Alexis� Mac: Not a bad thought. Keep me posted. Felicia: Sure thing Ned�s Room Emily: Alexis! It�s so good to see you! Alexis: It�s good to see that you�re doing so well. She glances at Ned. He wake up yet? Emily shakes her head. Well I was hoping� Emily: Yeah I know. She touches Alexis�s arm and walks out of the room. Alexis walks over to the side of the bed and takes his hand. Alexis looks down at Ned, taking his hand in hers. Alexis: Obviously you don�t intend on doing me any favors� Oh Ned. She covers her mouth with her hand. Ned: I never do favors. He slowly opens his eyes and smiles up at her. She smiles. Alexis: Ned. How do you feel? Ned: Like I never want to go back to that mansion again. Alexis: That�s okay because you can�t. Ned: That bad huh? Alexis nods. So how did you get to be the designate watchdog? Alexis raises an eyebrow. Alexis: Actually I volunteered. He smiles and squeezes her hand Ned: I�m glad. Alexis: Oh well I figured you might want Kristina, but I� Ned: What did you do? Alexis: Nothing. (shocked) Nothing I just� Ned: You miss us? Alexis: When Stefan left I thought I missed him, and in someway I did. He made me realize something. I�m not afraid of commitment, I�m just afraid of losing the one I love. I watched Helena kill my mother. I watched my brother, my father and my uncles die. I watched Helena make one merciless action after another and I feared that I would be next. Then I began to find important people. You, Nikolas and Stefan, you�re all important to me. I can do the best I can, but there was no way I could protect everyone I love except by pretending I didn�t love them. Thus, I chained myself to Sonny who could never love anyone either and thus he would never get hurt because of me. By the time Helena was gone, my sister had appeared and developed feelings for you. I didn�t want her to get hurt, but I�m no longer afraid. Helena�s disappearance allows me to love. Stefan�s voyage helped me to realize that I could. And you, all of this, showed me that I couldn�t forget the past. I want the past to be the present, everything except the fear. Ned: And you want me to agree to that? Alexis: You don�t? Ned: Alexis, I�ve waited to hear you tell me you love me again for a long time. You don�t think it�s too late? Alexis shakes her head. I see where you�re coming from, and maybe I understand a little more why you did what you did. Alexis nods. And, he squeezes her hand, I do miss what we had. But Kristina� Alexis: She�s willing to let us make a go at it. I can understand if you think what�s done is done and you want to move on� Ned: No! No, I don�t want to move on. I miss you Alexis. I know we can�t start where we left off, but I hope that we can get back to that. He reaches up and touches her face. You�re so beautiful. I hope that I can look up at you and say that for the rest of my life. She smiles. Alexis: I hope so too. Mansion Ruins Taggert: Can I help you madam? Woman: No that�s all right. Did all of the family make it out alive? Taggert: As far as I know only the cook died and AJ Quartermaine is in critical condition. Woman: I see. Taggert: Do you live in Port Charles? Woman: No, not anymore. Taggert: But you used to. She looks over at him. Woman: Are you planning on charging me with this crime? Taggert: No I was simply asking a question? Why would you think that I would charge you with this crime? Woman: I�ve told you I live here, I know how the PCPD works. Taggert: Can I at least get your name? The woman looks him up and down. Woman: Tracy. Tracy Quartermaine. Taggert: Oh, so you�re related. Tracy: Only by blood my dear. Taggert looks at her strangely. Taggert: And how are you related? Tracy: Why you must be new here! Alan is my loving brother and Edward ever the perfect father. And you are? Taggert: Detecive Taggert. Nice to meet you. They shake hands. Tracy: I do hope your investigation goes well, it would be a shame to let someone do this to this lovely house. Taggert: Well if you have any suggestions� Tracy: Why would you ask me that? Taggert: I do know that no one would ever call Edward and Alan such things. She smirks. Tracy: True true. It is hard to say truly nice things about my father and brother and all their horrible bastard children. Taggert: I see. Waiting Room Kristina: Hey Nikolas. Nikolas hugs her. I just came here to find you. Nikolas: Kristina, I want you to meet my friend, Emily Quartermaine. Emily, this is my aunt, Kristina Cassadine. They shake hands. Emily: Its nice to meet you. Nikolas has written to me about you many times. Jax walks over. Jax: Hey there. I told you I�d find you sooner or later. Kristina: Where�d you go? Jax: Kristina, I�d like you to meet some of my friends. This is Julia Barrett, Brenda�s older sister and Olivia Barrett, Brenda�s little sister. Guys, this is Kristina Cassadine. Kristina shakes hands with both of them. Emily: Hey Julia, I didn�t realize that you had a sister� Julia: Well Olivia�s been stowed away at a private boarding school for years. Olivia rolls her eyes. Only Ned, Sonny and Jax knew about her, for her own protection. Courtney: I know what that�s all about. Olivia: Yeah well it sucks. I didn�t even get to go to my older sister�s damn funeral! Julia: (warningly) Livy. Nikolas: Well I�m Nikolas Cassadine. I know your sister too. She was a wonderful person. And these are my friends, Emily Quartermaine, Courtney Matthews, my brother Lucky Spencer, Elizabeth Webber and Gia Campbell. Olivia: Well at least it won�t be lonely here. Where�s Ned? Julia: In a second! Olivia rolls her eyes. Olivia: Well this is rather unequal, five girls and two guys. Emily raises her eyes at Nikolas: We don�t really look at it that way. Kristina: She�s rather forward� Julia: Yeah she got all of that from Brenda. Brenda spoiled her little sister rotten and since her death Olivia�s just gotten worse. I don�t even know what to do anymore. After she graduated I tried to get her into one of those ultra private colleges but she just kept sneaking out and skipping classes, all the things Bren used to do. So finally when the last college kicked her out, I heard about Ned and I knew I had to come so I picked her up and brought her with me. I don�t even know what to do with her. Kristina: I�m sorry I never met Brenda, but Ned and Jax make her seem like a wonderful person. Julia looks over at Jax. Julia: She was wonderful and spunky. She loved life so much. Julia sighs and looks back at Olivia. I just don�t think Livy�s going to turn out the same way. The door slams as Jason walks in. Liz: Hey Jason! He walks over and hugs her. Jason: How�s my family? He hugs Emily. Emily: Mom and Dad are doing very well and so is grandmother. Grandfather is doing well too even though he wasn�t in the bomb. AJ� well he�s still in critical condition. Jason nods. Jason: And Sonny? Courtney: It�s going to take a while but the doctors think he�s going to be just fine. Jason looks her up and down. Liz: Oh Jason, this is Sonny�s sister Courtney. Jason takes a step back. Sonny just found her. Jason: Oh I didn�t hear. Nikolas: There are lots of new siblings around these days. He points to Kristina. My aunt Kristina. He points to Olivia. Brenda and Julia�s sister Olivia. Jason looks back and forth with his eyes raised. Your own sister, Skye. Oh, this is Jason Morgan, Em�s brother. Emily: Why don�t I take you to go see Sonny? Jason nods and follows her away glancing back at the group as he leaves. Lucky looks at Nikolas pointedly. Lucky: Well it looks like everyone�s back. Sonny�s Room Sonny: Carly you really shouldn�t bring Michael here tomorrow. It�s not a good place for a young kid. Carly: So what do you want me to do? Tell him his daddy�s hurt and he doesn�t want to see him? Sonny: Do you think I�m planning on dealing with this now? What happened to our ability to compromise? Carly puts up a hand and pauses a moment. Carly: Okay fine. Is there anything I can get you? Zander�s wandering around here too. Sonny: No, you just have him make sure you get home all right. Thanks for checking on Courtney too. Carly: Sure. I left her with Nikolas Cassadine. He�s usually very protective. Sonny: Yeah she�ll be fine. I�m sure he�ll take her right back to Alexis. Jason walks in trailed by Emily. Jason: This is a familiar scene. Sonny smiles brightly. Sonny: How many times do I have to get hurt before you come back? Jason smirks. Jason: Well my family was involved in this one too. Sonny nods. Hey Carly. Carly: Jason. How are you? Jason: I�m doing well. I�ve been out of the business for awhile, its been nice. I actually went to visit Robin for a while. Sonny: Yeah, how is she? Jason: She�s doing very well. She just met up with her mom again. Sonny nods. Carly: Well I can see this is a chance for the two of you to catch up on old times. She glances at Emily. Hey on your visit to Port Charles plan to stay the hell away from Zander you�ve done enough to him already. Jason: to himself She obviously hasn�t learned to lay off yet. Emily: Look he told me he was okay with all of this. I can�t help it there was this guy there, no one can help true love. Come on, you were with my brother until you fell (quoting) in love with Sonny here. She motions. Carly: That whole business is over. I�ve changed. And by the way, I at least tell him in person I didn�t call him on the phone. Sonny: Carly� just stop it. Jason: You know what I�ll come back later, Em, why don�t you take me to Grandmother. Emily: I�d be happy too. She glowers at Carly as they turn and walk out. Ned�s Room. Ned is sitting up in bed and Alexis is sitting on the foot of the bed. Alexis: After all the shootings we�ve been involved in, I don�t think it�s ever been me visiting you in the hospital. Ned: True but of course I don�t involve myself with people who like to use guns for living. Jax walks in. Jax: Ned. Throwing stones not okay and throwing rocks, now that�s definitely not okay. Alexis looks down. Ned: Sorry. He squeezes Alexis�s hand but she does not respond. Jax notes this. Jax: You�ll never guess what females in distress I found wandering the hallways here. Julia, Olivia and Lois carrying Brooke walk in. Ned smiles brightly as Alexis begins to look nauseous. Ned: Wow Olivia, how you�ve grown! Brooke, come here and sit by daddy. She walks slowly over and Jax helps her up to sit next to Ned in bed. She stares at Alexis. Brooke: I thought she didn�t like you anymore Daddy. Ned: No Brooke, Alexis and I are still friends. I will always love her. Brooke: Just like you�ll always love Mommy. Ned glances up at Lois. Alexis: Well I can see everything�s all right here. She stands up yanking her hand out of Ned�s grip in the process. I need to go check on someone anyways. With a final glance at Ned she walks out. Jax sighs, frowning at Ned. Ned: Jax, can you? Jax nods. Jax: Sorry to leave so soon but duty calls. Lois, you coming? Lois: To talk to Alexis? Jax: No I just didn�t think you�d stay. Lois: Actually I�m going to go get a cup of coffee. She follows Jax out. Brooke: Is she mad at you again? Ned: No, Brooke, no one�s mad at me. Alexis just needs time to herself and your mother didn�t come to see me, she came to bring you. Olivia: So this is the lady who ran out on you at your wedding? Julia: Olivia Simone Barrett! Please, give Ned a break. She looks down at her sister sternly. Ned: Yes Livy that was Alexis. We�re trying to work things out so I would appreciate it if you would be nice to her. Olivia: Of course I�ll be nice to her, I just wanted to know if it was her. Ned: I�m glad all of you could come. I haven�t seen some of you in so long. I really hope to be better soon so that we can have fun together. Brooke: When you�re better are you going to play Barbie�s with me? Ned: When I�m better I�ll play what ever you want. Waiting Room Alexis walks in and notes who is there and then sits in the corner and begins crying. Jax walks in but does not see Alexis. Jax: Hey Kristina, hey all. Have you seen Alexis? Kristina looks at him surprised. Kristina: No I haven�t. I thought she was with Ned. Jax runs his fingers through his hair. Jax: She was and they were getting along beautifully until I brought Julia, Olivia, Lois and Brooke in. Kristina: She and Ned were getting back together and you enter with his ex-wife! Jax what were you thinking? Nikolas: Uh, Jax why is my aunt in the corner crying? Jax flips around and notices Alexis. They walk over. Kristina sits down next to her and puts her arms around Alexis. Kristina: Oh Honey it�s okay. It will all be all right. Jax kneels in front of her. Jax: I�m sorry I didn�t realize that it would make you so uncomfortable. Alexis wipes the tears away trying to control herself. Alexis: No, it�s fine. I need to learn to understand that I can�t be the only important thing to him. We�re not even together. Jax: But you guys were getting there and I�m sorry I had to interrupt. Nikolas: Would you like me to take you home? Alexis stares at him and wipes her tears away again. Alexis: No. No he�s not completely out of the woods yet and I want to make sure he�s okay before I do anything. She looks at each one of them. I�m sorry to cry, I never cry in front of people. Kristina: Alexis, that�s okay. We just want you to know that we�re here. Alexis smiles tightly. Alexis: Thank you. I should stop in to see Sonny. Jax: Alexis� Kristina: Hey if it will take her mind off Ned for awhile then fine we�ll go with you. Jax: Well pardon me if I don�t. |
