~Silence fills the air~ Alexis� Penthouse �I�m so glad you�re home!� An excited Ned states as he walks threw the door. �You�ll never guess what I picked up today?� Alexis was so into the file she was reading that she wasn�t really paying much attention at all. �Did you have a good day at work sweetheart?� Ned sat on the couch next to her and dropped a box on the table. �I can�t believe we�re are actually doing this!� He kissed the side of her head. �If anybody would have told me a year ago that you and I would actually, one day in front of god, say I do to one another.......... I�d tell them they were crazy.� �That bad of a day huh?� She replied not looking up. �Well don�t feel bad mine wasn�t much better.� She dropped the papers on the table. �And at the rate things are going it doesn�t look like it�s going to get much better any time soon.� She looked over and noticed the box and then smiled up at him. �So what�s in it?� �Our future.� Ned yelled before grabbing her face and pulling her into a kiss. �Awful small box don�t ya think?� Alexis asked as she broke the kiss. �You have no idea what I'm so happy about, do you?� �Sorry sweetheart not a clue.� She stated as she got up and walked over towards her desk. �But lord knows I could use some good news right now.� She pulled out a bunch of files. �Do you have any idea how much work I have to get done before court tomorrow morning?� She threw her glasses on the desk. �I don�t know why Sonny does this to me? You�d think by now I�d....� �Alexis Davis we were talking about our future, not you�re crime boss client.� �I�m sorry sweetheart, you�re right� she walked back over to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. �It�s just I�ve had a very long day.� She took the box from him and shook it. �So what�s in it?� �Apparently nothing important.� He stated sadly as he grabbed the box. �I�m going upstairs to take a shower. I promised grandmother we wouldn�t be late.� �I don�t suppose you could go to dinner without me?� Alexis fearfully asked as Ned gave her a very disappointed look. �Sweetheart I�m sorry it�s just I have a lot of work to do and.......� �It�s fine! You don�t want to go to a family dinner with you�re soon to be in-laws, you don�t have to go.� He stated cutting her off while heading for the stairs. �Ned.� Alexis yelled as the doorbell rang. Alexis walked over to the door and opened it. �Yes� �Alexis Davis?� A man asked holding a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.� �Yes thank you.� She replied as she took the flowers from him and closed the door. She placed the flowers on the desk and pulled out the small card. �To my wife to be. You�re eyes are as bright as the sunshine You�re smile is as wide as the sea. You�re in my heart forever and my soul for eternity. Love your husband to be.� Alexis looked up towards the stairs before she closed her eyes and began to silently cry. The Quatermaine Living room �Tell me again why I have to be here?� AJ asked �Because like it or not you are a part of this family.� Alan scowled. �Can we please not do this tonight?� Monica asked. �Monica�s right.� Lila noted. �Tonight we are all here to support Ned and Alexis in their decision to get married and I for one couldn�t be happier.� �Neither could I.� Stated Emily as she walked into the room and kissed her grandmother.� So where is the happy couple anyway?� �Late as usually.� Edward bellowed. �Sorry I�m late, but I got stuck at work.� �I refuse to have my house filled with Cassidine�s so get out.� Edward demanded �Nicolas is a part of Alexis�s family and he is more then welcome in this house.� Lila stated. Emily walked over to Nicolas and pulled him onto the couch and out of the line of fire. Edward looked at Lila. �I�m almost afraid to ask what other unsavory characters you�ve invited tonight my dear?� �Well good evening everyone, I hope I�m not to late?� �Not at all Jax.� Monica said turning towards Edward. �If anything I�d say you�re right on time.� Outside the Main House Ned and Alexis have just pulled up into the driver and Ned shuts off the car. Alexis grabs his arms just before he opens his door. �Ned wait.� �Alexis were already late.� �Ned please.� He looks over at her. �Okay fine what is it?� �I just wanted to tell how sorry I am for what happened earlier.� �There�s nothing to be sorry about Alexis.� He opened his door, got out and walked over to her side of the car helping her out as well. �I�d love to know what was in the package.� �I told you.� He took her hand in his and they began to walk. �It wasn�t anything important.� |
