CHAPTER 5 ~ THE NIGHT CONTINUES ~ Ned sat on the couch what seemed like forever before he got up and descended the stairs. He didn�t know how long the test would take but he knew it had been way to long. He walked into the room to find Alexis sitting on the edge of the bed starring at something. Alexis immediately felt his presents and looked up. Ned walked over to her as he saw the tears in her eyes. �Should I take those tears as happy ones or sad ones?� He asked as he kneeled down in front of her. �I really don�t know.� She replied as she looked back down at the stick she held in her hand. Ned took the stick from her but never looked at it as he noticed her tears following more rapid. �I don�t know why I�m feeling the way I�m feeling.� Ned looked at the stick quickly and then pulled her into a tight embrace. �Because you feel like you�ve lost something.� �But it isn�t like I had anything to lose.� He looked her in the eyes and said. �Yes you did.� She looked at him confusingly. �You�re dreams� Alexis smiled slightly as she pulled his head back to her chest. She knew exactly what he meant. No she didn�t really have dreams about a child but yet in some ways hoped the test had come out positive. �Alexis?� �Yes� �How would you feel about trying to have one?� �What?� She asked as she pushed his head back. �I don�t know, as I was sitting downstairs waiting for you to come back and I started thinking about what life would be like if we had one.� �Really?� She asked shockingly. �Really.� �I was kinda thinking the same thing as I was sitting here waiting for the results myself.� �And?� � I kinda like the idea of raising a child who looks just like you.� �Then what do you say we try?� �Are you serious?� Ned got up on his knees and pushed her back onto the bed bringing his lips to hers. �I�ve never been more serious.� �But what about our families?� �The hell with them if they don�t like it.� He said before overtaking her mouth with his. Alexis broke the kiss and pushed him back slightly. �Ned do you really want to have a ........� �A what Alexis?� �A you know what.� She replied. Ned brought his lips closer to hers. �A baby Alexis.� �Yes.� �Say it.� �Say what?� �A baby.� �I can say it.� �Then say it.� He demanded �A ba......� �No� He replied before touching her lips with his. �Tell me you want to have one.� Alexis pulled him into a deep kiss more or less in the hopes that he�d drop the conversation. Ned broke the kiss and Alexis once again pushed him back, but this time she also pushed him off of her. She rolled her body partially on top of his and began placing tiny little kisses across his chest as she spoke. �Where were we earlier?� Ned knew what she was doing but didn�t care he knew she couldn�t avoid the issue forever. �I think we were right about here.� He stated as he slowly removed the remaindered of her clothes along with his own. ~*~ The next morning Alexis woke up to the smell of french toast. �Ummmm I could get use to this.� She said with her eyes still closed. Ned placed the tray on the nightstand and bent over giving her a kiss good morning before she opened her eyes. Alexis snaked her arms around his neck and went with it. Ned reluctantly broke the kiss and began chewing on her ear as he whispered. �So what do you think the chances are that we made that baby of ours last night?� Alexis�s eyes popped open as she pushed him back. �We didn�t use protection last night did we?� Ned shook his head no with an evil smile. �Is a ......... really what you want?� Ned laughed as he sat up next to her. �When you first told me you might be I was a little scared and yes I will admit that it was the last thing I wanted but once I got to thinking about it, I realized that I�d love nothing more then to have a child with you.� �Ned I real do need time to think about this.� Ned bent over and picked up the tray of food. He picked up the fork and piled on some french toast and then feed it to her. �Okay if time is what you want then time is what you get.� �Thank you.� He placed some more food on the fork and into her mouth. �But you�re time runs out once we�re married.� Alexis� eyes popped open wide again as she stopped chewing. Ned laughed at her as he took his hand and placed it along her jaw and helped her move her mouth back and forth to finish the food she had in it. �I so love you Alexis Davis.� Alexis swallowed her food and smiled brightly. �I love you Ned Ashton more then you�ll ever know.� Ned picked up another fork full of food and shoved it in her mouth. �Eat up my darling you never know when you might be eating for two.� Alexis picked up the pillow behind her and smacked him with it. �Oh you want to play do you?� Ned stated with an evil tone. �Ned Ashton don�t you dare!� She yelled as he grabbed her legs pulled her down picked up the other pillow and smacked her with it. An all out pillow fight occurred until Ned changed the game to a sexual one by grabbing her in the last place she expected. �Ned somebody�s at the door.� She yelled as he tried to bite her ass. Ned looked up at the clock and sighed. �Damn that�s probably Nikolas; we have to go over some paperwork before he takes off to meet with a new group we might be signing on.� �I didn�t know you had any new prospective groups lined up for L&B.� Alexis said as Ned crawled out of bed. �It�s a new group Nikolas found last week.� He replied as he quickly put on his pants and shirt. �I know how badly this Eddie Angel thing is effecting you so I didn�t want to get you to involved.� �So you hired another lawyer to draw up contracts.� She stated with a sad tone. Ned walked over to her and kissed her lips lightly. �There isn�t any other lawyer in this world that I�d rather have draw up my contracts.� He stated with a seductive tone. �Good save.� She replied as his lips left hers and the doorbell rang again. �You better go answer that before he leaves.� Ned walked over to the door and turned back. �You gonna get dressed and come down?� �Nah.� She replied as she lowered herself further under the covers. �I think I�ll wait here. You are coming back right?� �I am now.� he stated before he walked out the door closing it behind him. |
