CHAPTER 26 ~*~Sonny�s Penthouse~*~ �Good morning!� Alexis said as she walked into a room full of boxes and Sonny taping a huge one up. Alexis looked around the room in amazement, �What is all this?� �Tell me something�exactly how many business suits does a female attorney need?� Sonny asked as he finished taping up the package. �I think I packed two thousand of them!� �This is my stuff?� Alexis asked as she looked at the room full of boxes. �I never dreamed a woman could accumulate so many things.� Sonny joked. �You packed up all my things?� �Well, I�m not sure how accurate the �all� is, but I gave it my best shot.� �I don�t know whether to be insulted or grateful that you did this for me.� Alexis said as she maneuvered her way around the boxes and placed her purse on the table. �You want me out of here this bad huh?� she said as she motioned at the boxes. �I think you know me better than that.� �Yes I do�thank you Sonny, you have no idea how much this means to me.� �This is a big day for you Alexis�a day of sheer happiness�I just wanted to do what I could to give you a jumpstart. I�m almost done. I got all your furniture from the warehouse and loaded it onto a moving van�now I just need to load all these boxes and you will be ready to roll.� �My furniture�wow, I completely forgot you were storing it in the warehouse for me.� �You are taking your furniture with you, right?� �There isn�t enough room for Ned�s furniture and my furniture. We are going to have to decide which to keep�Ned did comment on how great the furniture was when I bought it, so I�ll have to find something to do with his.� �How about I store Ned�s furniture in the warehouse until you guys decide which you prefer?� �That�s a perfect idea!� �What would you do without me?� Sonny joked. Alexis smiled, looked down at the boxes, and then back up at him. �Thank you again Sonny.� She said as she worked her way over to him and pulled him into a tender embrace. �You truly are a great friend.� She said before kissing him on the cheek and stepping back. �So are you. I mean come on, do you really think I would do this for anyone else?� Sonny laughed as he motioned around the room. Alexis laughed with him as she watched him pick up one of the larger boxes. �Now come on, open the door for me and you can supervise as I load these boxes onto the van. Better yet, I think things will move faster if you just go ahead and go to Ned�s and I�ll meet you there when I�m done.� �You�re going to do the moving as well?� Alexis surprisingly asked. �Why?� Sonny stopped in the doorway and looked at her, �Because I want to.� He said before walking out the door. Alexis took one last look around the room before she turned and followed him. ~*~The Gatehouse~*~ A couple hours later, Alexis was pacing around The Gatehouse waiting for Sonny to arrive. She picked up the phone and dialed L&B. �L&B Entertainment.� �Hi Nikolas, is Ned still around there?� �Yea, he�s still here but he�s in a meeting. You want me to pop my head in and tell him you are on the phone?� �No. Just do me a favor�if Ned happens to leave before you do, would you give me a call on my cell phone?� �Sure.� �Thank you Nikolas.� She said as she looked out the window and saw Sonny and Johnny pull up in the moving van. �I gotta go�don�t forget to call.� She said before hanging up the phone. ~Several Hours Later~ Alexis walks down the stairs and looks around. She can't believe that she thought moving her furniture in and Ned' furniture out was such a good idea."I hope Ned doesn't take this as a sign that I'm trying to take over his life." Alexis says out loud before she falls back onto the couch. "I got it!" she yells as she gets up. "I'll just call Sonny and have him bring back half of Ned's furniture and remove some of mine so it won't look like I'm being so domineering." Alexis walks over to her desk, where Ned's desk use to set and shakes her head while rolling her eyes. "How could I be such an idiot!" she states as her cell phone rings. "Alexis Davis." She states with no enthusiasm at all. "Hi Alexis...it's ummm me Nikolas." "What is it Nikolas?" She asked completely forgetting she told him to call. "Well Ned left and he's on his way home." "Thanks for the warning Nikolas it should give me just enough time to hang myself." She states sarcastically. "Less time then you think." Nikolas shot back. "Meaning?" "Meaning I forgot to call you and he should be walking in the door any minute." "What!" She yelled as the door opened and Ned walked in. �Well hello beautiful.� He lends down and kisses her. �You have no idea how great it is to see you after a day like today?� �Bad day?� Ned notices the desk and then looks around the room, taking it all in. �I can explain everything.� A nervous Alexis states. Ned looks back at her with a blank expression. �See I wanted to surprise you and.......� �Oh I�m surprised all right.� He stated cutting her off. Alexis walked past him into the center of the room. �I planned on moving in her while you were at work and well ......I .......I thought that I�d move some of my furniture in.� She began moving hands about nervously. �And moving some.......Not all just some of you�re furniture out and well.� Ned just continued to look at her with that blank express which caused Alexis to ramble even more. �I ended up moving all you�re furniture out and all mine in...........but don�t worry I�ll bring whatever piece of furniture you want back and get rid of whatever piece of my furniture you don�t want.� She started twisting her hair around her finger. �This is your place and by all rights it should have your not my furniture in it...........so please don�t be mad at me because I plan on fixing everything.� She walked over to the phone and picked it up. �I�ll fix it right now......I�ll just call the movers and tell them to bring back the truck........� Ned couldn�t help but laugh. She looked over at him. �What�s so funny?� �You are.� He stated as he walked over took the phone from her and hung it up. �I�m sorry....I know........� Ned pulled her close and kissed her cutting off her words. �Do you think maybe I could get a word or two in?� Alexis laughed slightly. �Okay but no more then five.� Ned looked down at his finger and one by one started counting the words. �How about seven?� Alexis laughed harder. �Did you say something about moving in?� Alexis stopped laughing and closed her mouth. �I see decided to plead the fifth?� Ned teased �I planned this whole thing out and yet it still backfired.� Alexis replied as she walked over sat on the couch and buried her face in a pillow. Ned joined her on the couch and removed the pillow. �I was going to have all my stuff moved....a romantic dinner waiting for you when you got home.......� Ned quickly placed his hand over her mouth to keep her from talking. �You weren�t planning on cooking were you?� Alexis pulled his hand away, and he held on to it tightly. �No I ordered dinner from the grill.� She looks at her watch. �It should be here soon.� Ned looks down at her and laughs. �What�s so funny now?� �Well it�s just that I�ve never had a romantic dinner before with a woman wearing a pair of my old sweat pants a shirt that looks like it�s been thrown in the back of the draw for so long the wrinkles will never come out.� He looked up at her face. �No make up on, her hair in a pony that�s about to fall out.� He grabs her legs and pulls them across his lap. �And sweat socks to match her pants.� He added laughingly. Alexis smacked his chest playingly. �I planned on changing before you came home.� Ned gave her a strange look. �What?� She yelled �Are these my socks you�re wearing?� He asked with the most serious tone he could muster. Alexis started laughing so hard that it didn�t take long for Ned to join her. �Come here� He said as he pulled her close and kissed her tenderly. Alexis broke the kiss but kept her face very close to his. �Is this you�re way of telling me you aren�t mad at me?� �Why would I be mad at you?� He asked. �I�m sure there�s at least one room in this house you didn�t mess with.� Alexis turned her head and looked up the stairs. �I changed the furniture in the bedroom as well.� Ned took Alexis face in his hand and turned it towards the other direction. �I was referring to the kitchen.� He laughed Alexis rolled her eyes. �Oh.......No I didn�t touch the kitchen at all.� Ned scared Alexis by placing his hand quickly around her waist and jumping up to his feet with her in his arms. �Where are we going?� �I want to see what you did to our bedroom.� He replied as they made their way up the stairs. �Did you just say our bedroom?� Alexis asked as Ned placed her in the middle of the bed, before throwing his body on top of hers. �You did say you were moving in right?� �Actually I already moved it.� Alexis stated nervously Ned looked around the room. �It would defiantly appear that way.� �I can have your old bedroom set moved back in tomorrow if that�s what you want.� Ned looked her dead in the eyes. �What I want is for you to stop talking about the damn furniture and make love to me already.� A bright smile quickly grew across Alexis� face. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him towards her. �I can do that.� �Thank you.� He stated before his lips over took hers. |
