| . CHAPTER FIVE (I changed the format I hope it doesn't confuse anyone) Later that same day Ned is pacing back and forth at the Studio when Jax walks in. Jax: Ned just the person I was looking for. (he looks at Ned) something wrong? Ned: I don't know Alexis hasn't been feeling very well, and she refuses to see a doctor. Jax: Is she still getting sick to her stomach? Ned: What do you mean still? Jax; Well about two weeks ago I was at her place and she out of nowhere run to the bathroom and got sick. Ned: I don't like the sound of this Jax. She's been getting dizzy, she doesn't look like she's been getting much sleep. She seems stressed out all the time........ Jax: and she's been throwing up.............Ned have you ever thought about the possibilities that Alexis could be........ Ned: Could be what Jax? Jax: never mind she probable just has the flu or something. Anyway I stopped by to talk to you about......... Ned: Jax what do you think is wrong with Alexis? Jax: I shouldn't have even said anything. Ned: (annoyed) Well you did now spit it out. Jax: Fine have you ever thought Alexis could be pregnant........... Think about it Ned the signs are all there. Upset stomach, pale, run down, not sleeping right, dizzy. Ned: Wow I never even thought about that. Jax: How would it make you feel if she were? Ned: I don't know..........I mean I love Alexis and would love to have a child with her but....... Jax: Something just doesn't seem right. Ned: No it's not that, it's just ...........well think about Brooke. I hardly ever get to see her, I love her she's my daughter and I didn't even get to partially raise her. Jax: Ned Alexis isn't Lois she's not going to take your child...........if there even is one and leave town. Ned: I know I just don't want to be an absentee father again. Jax: So don't be. Ned: Thanks Jax you helped a lot now all I have to do is convenience sleeping beauty in the other room to see a doctor. Jax: (laughing) good Luck. Ned: thanks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An hour later Ned is just finishing a phone conversation when Bobbie walks in Ned: Good afternoon Bobbie what brings you here? Bobbie: Alexis called and ask me to stop by, is she around? Ned: Yea she's in the back room lying down, she hasn't been feeling well. Bobbie: Well I hope it isn't anything to serious. Ned: Bobbie, do you think you could talk to her and get her to see a doctor. Bobbie; I didn't realize she was feeling that much under the weather. Ned: Actually Bobbie I think she might be pregnant..........but don't tell her I said anything. Bobbie; Wow that's great..........don't worry I won't say anything I'll just tell her you're worried about her. Ned: Thanks Bobbie. Bobbie: No problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bobbie walks into the backroom to find Alexis sitting on the couch slightly crying. Bobbie; Want to talk about it? Alexis: My life is spinning out of control and I don't know how to stop it. Bobbie: (walks over to her and sits down) Ned told me you haven't been feeling well. Alexis; I'll be okay Bobbie: He wants you to see a doctor. Alexis; (getting up and walking away) I know but ........... I don't want to! Bobbie: Why not? Alexis; Because I know what's wrong with me and I don't want it confirmed. Bobbie; What do you thinks wrong with you? Alexis: (placing her hands on her stomach) Nothing about 9 months won't cure. Bobbie: (smiling) You think your pregnant? Alexis; (sadly) Yes Bobbie: You don't seem to happy about the idea. Alexis: I'm not............don't get me wrong Bobbie I love Ned but I'm no where ready to become a Mother. Bobbie; well the only way to find out if you are or not is to take a test. Alexis: I know that's why I bought this. (she pulls something out of her purse) Bobbie: (taking it from her) A home pregnancy test.........well it's a start. Alexis: (taking a deep breath) I bought it a few days ago but can't get myself to take it. Bobbie; Well you can take it now if you like. (she hands it back to Alexis) Alexis; I don't think so..........I just need to be with my thoughts a little while longer before taking the test. (She puts it back in her purse) Bobbie; (looking down) Oh great I'm being paged I need to get back to the hospital.........Listen Alexis don't wait to long to take the test and if you'd like I can come back later or in the morning and help you through it. Alexis: I'd like that, what do you say meeting me at my suite for breakfast around 8:00, hopefully afterwards I'll have enough courage to take the test. Bobbie: 8:00 it is. Bobbie leaves and Alexis falls back onto the couch and closes her eyes, you can see the tears roll out from underneath. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER SIX It's around two am and Alexis is sitting on her bed starring out into space. She doesn't hear or see Ned walk in. Ned just stands there with his head leaning against her door frame watching her. About five minutes later Alexis sighs and turns her head spotting Ned. They just stare at each other a moment before she speaks. Alexis: What are you doing here? Ned: I know you said you wanted to be alone, and I do respect that......... Alexis: Then why are you here? Ned: Because I was worried about you and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get you out of my head. Alexis: I guess that's a good thing. Ned: May I come in? Alexis: (pats the bed next to her) Only if you promise to hold me. Ned: (walks over and sits down) It's a deal come here. (he places his arm around her and she cuddles into his chest) I love you Alexis Davis. Alexis: I love you too Ned Ashton. Ned: Do you want to talk about it? Alexis: About what? Ned; About what's going on with you? Alexis; Not now. Ned: Something tells me that you and I have come to the same conclusion. Alexis: Ned I really don't want to do this now. Ned: Okay then just close your eyes and sleep...........morning comes soon enough. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's about 7:50 when Alexis hears a knock at the door and quickly runs to answer it before waking Ned. Alexis: Come on in, I'll be ready in a minute. Bobbie: Sorry I'm early it's just my schedule at work got changed and I need to go in earlier then expected. Alexis: Oh that's fine............listen why don't you make yourself comfortable and I'll be right back. (she walks back into the bedroom and over to Ned) Ned sweetheart can you hear me. Ned: (rolling over yawning) Why don't you come back to bed? Alexis: I can't Bobbie is here and we're going to breakfast. Ned: Breakfast? Alexis: Yea remember I told you last night. (Ned shakes his head) I won't be gone long and then we can talk. Ned: Okay (she kisses him and turns to leave) Alexis. (she turns back) I'll be here when you come back. Alexis: (smiling) I know! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bobbie and Alexis are downstairs at the Grill just finishing Breakfast. Bobbie: So anyway now that we have talked about everything other then why we are really here, how have you been feeling? Alexis: Tired, run down and...........well most likely with child...........how have you been feeling. Bobbie; I feel like I've been getting the run around all morning. Alexis: I'm sorry..........it's just..........I'm scared that's all. Bobbie; (taking her hand) I know you are and don't worry Motherhood is a scary thing. Alexis: I think Ned knows Bobbie; (shocked) What gave you that impression? Alexis: Something he said last night. Bobbie; Are you planning on taking the test this morning? Alexis: Yes right after breakfast and before I lose my nerve. Bobbie; Then why don't you take it with Ned? What do you have to lose, he didn't seem upset with the idea, did he? Alexis: I don't think so...........we never really got around to talking about it. I think he wants to talk about it when I get back, but...........I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk to him about this yet. Bobbie: Alexis not for nothing but he's the one you should be talking to. Alexis: I know...........I just don't know how he's going to react or what for that matter I'm going to say to him? Bobbie; trust me just take a deep breath and it will come to you, believe in the power of love. Alexis; (getting up) Ok I'm going to talk to him now.........I'll catch up with you later......... bye. |
