CHAPTER 4 Alexis comes down the stairs after her nice long bubble bath to find Ned sitting on the couch playing his guitar that he left before they broke up. He was playing his giutar and humming to what sounded like either a love song or a lullaby. Alexis just stood there listening loving. In my arms, wish I could hold you forever In my arms I will give you shelter Still I know I can't always be there To protect you from this great big old world But I swear this much is true There'll always be a place for you..In my arms.. Alexis finally made her way over to were Ned was sitting. Ned looked at and smile. She was wearing his favorite silk pajamas. She looked so beautiful to him standing there in front of him with her hand placed protectively on her stomach. "That was beautiful..Is it something new you been working on?" she asked. "Well it looks like your feeling better. Naahh.. this song..It's just something that came to me one night while I was on tour. When i was sitting all alone thinking about eveything thats been happening lately. The words just came flowing out. Now I know why (placing a hand on Alexis' stomach) I have been playing around with it. I'll finish it one day" "Well is sounds beautiful. I can't wait to hear it when it's finished.and Thank you again for the making my bath, and for staying. Ned I don't want to lose what we have. I know that we have issues, one being the fact that my client is the towns Godfather . I know you don't want me to represent him, and to tell you the truth, I don't want to, if it means losing you in the process. (Ned just sits there looking her in the eyes and playing with her hand as she speaks). Ned, I have waited a long time to be loved by someone that loves me for who I am, my phobias and all. I am sorry that all this "Eddie's Angel" stuff has turned your life upsidedown, I wish ! I could take it all back. I don't want you to give up your career and clients because for me. Alexis, I just want you safe and alive. I love you and I just don't want to lose you because of that juvenile, Zander. I love you and will always be here for you no matter what the need is." Ned finished. Alexis looked into his eyes with fresh tears flowing down her cheeks and leaned in a kissed him softly on the lips. Then laughed "Where's my popcorn" she said with a giggle. Ned couldn't help but laugh through his own tears. Ned and Alexis at and talked, laughed and ate their popcorn. They talked about this and that. But mostly about the life that they had built. Now the life they were going to build with their child. Ned pulled Alexis back so that she was leaning on him her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her waist and placed them on her stomach. Alexis linked her fingers with Ned's on her stomach as they talked about the baby. "Boy or girl" Alexis asked Ned. "It doesn't after matter just as long as it has your big brown eyes, your gorgeous smile ( Alexis hides her face in his chest) You witty personality.." Alexis interrupted " and your dimples" she said poking her finger in his dimpled smile. Ned laughed and grabbed her hand and kissed her palm. "So when is your next appointment. And would you mind if I came. I missed all this with Brook-Lynn (Alexis began to tear up) and I want to be there for everything with this baby. I don't want to miss a thing. The first kick. His first tooth. His first step" "Of course you can be there. And what makes you think it's a boy. I thought it didn't matter to you just as long as it's healthy. Mr Ashton, are you secretly wanting a boy so you can one up Junior?" Alexis said and Ned looked at her with a smirk on his face. " Me? No..It slipped I promise. I just want our baby to be healthy..Really..The thought of making Junior pay never crossed my m! ind. I would never use a child to get what I want. (Alexis looked at Ned with a "yea right" look on her face.) So when is this future rocker going to make its grand entrance into this crazy world" "Excuse me? Rocker? not on your life! There is no way this baby is gonna be a rockerstar!! Well the doctors says I am about 18 weeks pregnant (Ned's does some quick math in his head)So that is four and half months. (Alexis doing some quick math too) So maybe sometime around the end of July and the beginning of August." Ned says "Alexis, it was conceived on our little teenage get away! You said you weren't the kind of girl that goes passed 2nd base on the first date." Alexis laughed and just smiled. "Yes, but I am the one who said forget about our curfew and parents and let's just go all the way." Ned "Well it lookslike we did. We hit a home run!" They laughed as they wrapped their arms around each other and kissed. "Sweetheart, it's getting late and you need your rest not just for you but for the baby also. You have a long day ahead of your tomorrow and you need all the sleep you can get before the baby is born too. So why don't I help you to bed and I'll call you tomorrow so we can set up your next doctors appointment" Alexis looked at Ned yawning and nodding her head in agreement. Ned helped Alexis off the couch and followed her up the stairs to her room. He helped her in bed and kissed her forehead before in leaned down to kiss her on the lips. Ned turned to leave. "Ned?" Alexis said. Ned turned to face her. "Will you stay with me? I always have a restful nights sleep when I know your here. Please" she pleaded. "Of course I will. I wouldn't have it any other way. But don't think for a minute that I don't know your hided agenda here" "and what's that" she said with a smile of her face. "You want me to make you French toast for breakfast" "Ned Ashton, I would n! ever use you for your cooking." Alexis said laughing. "But hey since you mentioned it, thanks for offering" "You Alexis Davis, drive me crazy!!" Ned said before he undressed down to his boxers and climbed into bed and wrap his arms around Alexis. "I know, but you love me anyway!!" They smiled at each and kissed before they both fell asleep in each others arms where they had long to be for the past several months. |
