CHAPTER 3 Ned had returned home from his tour of the UK and was still as miserable as ever. Just thinking of Alexis. He can't seem to get her off his mind. The songs he wrote for her, he had to sing every night. It too was painful, all the memories flooded his thoughts as he sang those songs. He was glad to be back in Port Charles. Alexis was near the end of Zander's trail and is about 4 months pregnant and was starting to show a little. The only one who knows is Nik cause Alexis accidently let it slip while they were arguing about her just jumping on a plane and surprising Ned at one of his shows. He wanted her to make-up with Ned. It killed him to see her so miserable. "Court dismissed" the judge said. Alexis groaned as she sank back down into her chair, she was feeling tired and had a terrible headache. All she wanted to do was go home and take a hot bubble bath and go to bed. But first she had a doctor�s appointment. She was hopefully going to find out if it was a little boy or girl. As she stood smiling at the thought of the baby, the bath and bed, her smiled faded as her eyes locked on Ned. All she wanted to do was run away and cry. She slowly walked up to him with her briefcase covering her slightly buldging stomach trying to walk past. But Ned stopped her and wouldn't let her walk by him. "So it looks like the kid is going to be getting off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist" Ned started. "Yea I guess so, how did you know that? Emily tell you?" "Nope.. I was here in the courtroom watching you do what you do best, defend criminals that belong behind bars" Changing the subject "When did you get back?' "Last week." "Oh..Well it was nice seeing you. I really got to get going, I have some business to take of. Bye" Alexis said sadly. Ned watched her walk off. He thought she looked pale and tired. Something wasn't right with her and he was dead set on finding out what it is. Ned! followed Alexis out and watched her get into her car and cry. Ned's heart sank. He wanted so much to walk right over and kiss her and tell her he was sorry. But he couldn't, his pride stood in his way. So Ned followed her to GH. "What in the world kind of business does she have at the hospital"? Alexis walked into the doctor�s office and signed in and grabbed a magazine. She sat waiting for Dr Newman. Ned walked in and walked right over to Alexis and began yelling. "Do you mind telling me why you have a doctors appointment with Dr Newman? Don't eventhink about giving me that line about your getting your birth control re-filled. I fell for that once. Alexis, what is wrong with you?!" Ned asked. Alexis looked up shocked to see him there and questioning her about her health. " Well I guess that line worked. It got you to leave didn't it. Were you following me? and what is it of any of your concern if I am sick or not, have you forgotten you don't want to see or be with me anymore. remember you said it was over. So why don't you turn your rockstar-self around and leave!" Alexis shouted. "FINE!" Ned yelled back. Just as Ned turned to leave Dr Newman came out. "Ms Davis, you ready to see that baby of yours? and finding out if your going to have a little boy or girl?" Ned slowly turned and tired to make eye contact with Alexis. She looked down at the ground and bit her lip.. "Baby? So when were you planning on telling me about this Alexis, HUH? after the baby was born?Alexis? Oh wait you like to leave messages on my voice mail telling me important stuff like this. Were you just going to call and leave a message saying that you had a baby, our baby?! You so love to do that when you don't want to tell me something face to face." Ned said bitterly. Alexis looked at the doctor. "Can I reschedule my appointment? I don't think I am up to being poked and stabbed at?" "Sure, why don't you just call the office and reschedule your appoint! ment" Dr Newman said and left. Ned and Alexis were standing there glaring at each other. Neither knowing what to say. Alexis began speaking very rapidly." Well I got to go and get my closing arguments ready for the trail tomorrow. I need to get a good night�s rest, make sure Zander has a goodnight sleep too and is ready for tomorrow.."Alexis began to walk away and Ned grabbed her arm spinning her around causing her to stumble into his arms. "You Ms. Davis are not going anywhere till you tell me what is going on!" Ned said with his face just inches from hers. "Well you seemed to have already figured it out! So why don't you tell me why you aren't going let me run off to my law books that you say I so love to spend my time reading?" "Fine then go.."Ned said..Ned couldn't take it anymore he grabbed her face and pulled her into a long passionate kiss. Alexis melted into his arms at his kiss. She had longed for his touch every since the day he walked out of her penthouse telling her it was over. Ned pulled away "Alexis we need to talk. About you and me and about the baby..our baby" Ned said as he touches her stomach. Alexis looked into Ned's eyes and tears began to fall. "Ned, I need to go home, I think I am gonna be sick" Ned looked at her and laughed. "Alright let's get you home" "Don't you dare laugh at me Ned Ashton, you know I hate being sick and this is all your fault" Alexis whined back. Ned just wrapped his arm around her waist and guided her out the door laughing as she continued to whine. Alexis penthouse "I got your bath ready. Need any help with your bath before I leave" Ned smiled seductively "Naahh.. I think I can handle it" Alexis tossed jokingly back. She started up the stairs and turned back to Ned very serious "Ned we really do need to talk, and I mean a serious talk. No yelling, noone walking out. We have a lot to discuss, you, me and our baby, my c! lients. Please stay." "I will be right here waiting when your done" Ned said just as serious. "Good.. could you make me some popcorn... I mean your baby some, I think it's craving it." Alexis jokingly said. "Anything for the "baby" " Ned laughed and just shook his head. "Great, I'll be down in a few minutes" Alexis headed up stairs to her hot bubble bath. "Yes we have a lot to talk about. Alexis, I am never gonna give up on you, I love you to damn much." Ned said walking into the kitchen to fix the "baby" some popcorn. |
