Chap 18

Another week has past and Ned neglected to tell Julia that he would be going to New York for a week with his family. When he did tell her she wasn't to happy. She told him that going would be a big mistake. He didn�t care all he wanted to do was spend time with his family, to reconnect with them. He did as much work as he could, he spent many late nights at the office with Alexis and the girls on his mind. Alexis was not at all happy about him spending so much time up at the office and with Julia still. Alexis told Ned she wanted to at least get to eat lunch with him everyday since he couldn�t make it home at night for dinner and Ned agreed.

It�s the day before they leave for New York, Ned was only going to go into the office for a few hours if any at all. He lied there staring up at the ceiling thinking about last night and the mistake he almost made with Julia. How could he have almost done that to Alexis? He loved Alexis. Why did he almost have sex with Julia. He probably would have if Alexis hadn�t called to let Brooke-Lynn tell him goodnight. Alexis shifted in Ned�s arms bringing him out of his thoughts. She snuggled in closure to him. He smiled when she wrapped a arm around his waist. He ran his hand up her bare back up to her hair. He played with her hair as she slowly began to wake up. She stretched a little before pulling the covers up trying to get warm. Ned pulled her closure to him. She propped her head up on Ned's chest and smiled at him. He smiled back down at her �Morning sweetheart� Alexis leaned up and kissed Ned. �Morning� She said as she propped herself up on her elbows. �Sleep well?� Ned asked as she yawned and stretched more. �I had the best night sleep. I always have peaceful nights sleeps when I am lying in your arms.� She said lying her head back on his chest. Not really wanting to break the mood, but she knew something happened last night. She could tell when he got home that he wasn�t in a good mood. She thought maybe having Brooke-Lynn call wasn�t such a good thing. �Honey, not to spoil the mood, but do you mind telling me what put you in a bad mood last night. If it was me letting Brooke-Lynn call then I am sorry, she wouldn�t go to sleep until I let her call. She sat in her room and cried for almost 30 minutes and I couldn�t take it anymore. I put Kristen to bed and I let her call. I am sorry if she interrupted something really important.� Ned was still playing with her hair. �No..I loved it that you let her call. I was very happy and was a very welcomed interruption. I was glad to hear her voice. I was stressed. I need that. Tha! nk you for letting her call.� Alexis looked up at him. �Okay..well do you want to tell me what put you in such a bad mood. I heard you slamming things around, I heard you cussing under your breath and you woke me up in the middle of the night to make love to me. You never do that, not that I minded one bit, it�s just that you were acting strange..� He interrupted her �What.. I can�t come home from a very stressful day at work and make love to my wife?� �Oh No..it�s not that..it was just..Oh never mind� she said �Don�t you need to get up and get ready for work? I really don�t want to have Julia calling the house, she might wake up the girls� Alexis moved over and laid on her side of the bed not facing Ned. She pulled the covers up around her. Ned rolled over on his side facing Alexis. �Sweetheart, I�m sorry..and no I don�t have to go to work today. I did all I could last night so I could help you pack and get everything to get ready for our trip.� Alexis rolled over on her back Ned pulled her closure over to him. He kissed her forehead. �So what times do the girls get up?� He asked with a seductive grin She looked at him and grinned back, turning over on her side Ned pulled her on top of him. �Oh I say we have a few more hours. What do you have in mind Mr. Ashton� Alexis said as she kissed Ned fully on the lips as got lost in each other before the girls got up.

Ned was the first to wake up. He heard Kristen through her monitor talking to her toys. He heard her laugh and he smiled as he got up and pulled on a pair of boxers. He walked down to Kristen�s room. He opened the door and quietly walked over to her bed. He walked up to her crib and she turned her head toward Ned. She smiled a huge toothless smile and began kicking her feet. �Hey baby girl..you look like your in a good mood?� Ned bent down and picked her up. He sat in the rocking chair in her room. He began rocking her �Daddy sure does miss this moments when he has to get up early for work.� Kristen buried her face in Ned�s neck. He sat Kristen down on his lap. She looked up at him with her big brown eyes. He life is wonderful, he has a loving wife, two beautiful girls and he about threw it all away. He looked down at Kristen sucking on her fist and drooling, he thought back to last night..

Flash Back..

Ned was sitting at his desk. He was staring at a picture of Alexis and the girls. Mounds of paper work sat on the corner of his desk. There was a knock at the door, �Come in� He said looking back down at the file in front of him. �Hey there partner� Ned looked up when he heard Julia�s voice �Looking a little stressed. How about you take a break� Ned sat back in his chair �I can�t, I have to get all this done before I have to leave out of town.� �Ned, I really don�t think it�s a good idea for you to be going out of town, we have almost got these guys right where we want them.� She said moving closure to his desk. � Julia, I promised Alexis and Brooke-Lynn a trip to New York almost 4 months ago. Besides Brooke needs a vacation before she has to head back to school. Not to mention Alexis. She has been doing the whole parenting thing all by herself since we started this little raid. She needs a vacation just as much I Brooke and me for that matter.� Ned rubbed his neck. �Man.. my neck is killing me.� Julia took this opportunity to try and make her move �Here let me massage your neck for you� She pulled Ned up out of his chair and over to his leather couch. She began to massage his neck. He muscle started losing. Julia felt him becoming more comfortable and she leaned in and started kissing his neck. Ned didn�t move at first. His mind was on Alexis, once he realized what Julia was doing he snapped too and jumped off the couch. �What in the hell are you doing?� Ned asked rasing his voice. Julia got up and walked over to him. She put her hands on his chest. �Oh don�t tell me you weren�t enjoying that. It sure did take you awhile to realized what was going on.� She said trying to wrap her arms around his neck. Ned pulled out of her arms. �Julia, I am happily married. You are my friend. Please don�t do this.� She had Ned backed up against the front of his desk. She was leaning on him. She was kissing his neck Ned was pushing her away, but she wasn�t backing down. Julia ! kissed Ned and he tried to pull away, put he began to give in. He was becoming weaker as she became more persistent. Julia took off Ned�s jacket and was loosing his tie. Ned started to unbuttoning Julia blouse. There kisses were becoming more intense. His hands began to explore her body. Ned unzipped her skirt, as she began to unbuckle his belt. The phone rang Julia kept kissing Ned, he pulled away breathless �I have to get that, it might be important� Ned picked up the phone �Ned Ashton� Julia walked over to him at his desk and began unbuttoning his shirt �Hey Princess! (Julia stopped kissing him and back away, Ned looked at his watch) It�s really late shouldn�t you be in bed?� Brooke was sitting next to Alexis and Kristen on their bed. �Yea..but I had to call you and tell you goodnight and that I love you.� Ned heart sank and he sat in his chair. Julia saw his expression and she began buttoning her blouse. Ned continued to talk to Brooke and Julia slowly back out of the room. �Okay baby, daddy will be home in a little while, can I speak to mommy?� Brooke handed Alexis the phone �Hey honey, I am sorry she just had to call.� Alexis said �Oh no that�s no problem.� He put his face over his face. He finished up his conversation with and Alexis and sat back in his chair. He looked at the picture of Alexis and the girls on his desk. It was professionally done. Alexis had them taken for Father�s Day. They were all in white slip like dresses. It had a soft dreamy look to it. It capture the beauty of all three of the girls magnificently. It had become Ned�s most prize possession right next to the picture he took of them the day of after Kristen was born. His eyes began to water. How could have he almost done that. Ned sat at his desk for a few more hours trying to work before heading home. As he drove home he couldn�t stop thinking about what almost happened between him and Julia. He got madder and madder at himself as he drove home. He got home and all he could think about was making love to Alexis. !

End Flashback..

Ned was broke back by the sounds of a very hungry baby. Kristen was squirming and chewing on her fist. �Is daddy�s baby girl hungry� Ned stood and walked back into their room. He paused at the doorway and made a mental picture of the way Alexis looked laying there on her stomach and the way the sunlight shone on her bareback. How it the sun brought out the auburn highlights in her hair. Ned walked over to Alexis he sat down on the bed. She turned her head towards the sunlight and to Ned. She squinted then smiled. She reached up and tickled Kristen�s little chubby foot. She moved her foot and giggled at her mommy. �I take it someone is on the hungry side� Ned being sarcastic �yea I think I worked up an appetite, (he winked at her) but I think Kristen might need to be feed before you head down and make breakfast� Alexis looked at Ned and smiled �I think your a big boy and you can make your own breakfast. I was talking to the darling little munchkin in your lap. Is mama�s baby girl hungry?� Alexis asked. She went to sit up. �Um..Could you get off the sheet so I can pull it up?� She asked Ned. He looked down at the sheet and then back at her. �What..it�s not like I haven�t see you before. I mean I did just make love to you all night and..� Alexis sat up and took Kristen from Ned. Ned laughed at her and got off the sheet and she pulled it up. She cradled Kristen in her arms. Ned climbed in the bed next to Alexis and pulled her and Kristen to close to him. Alexis looked down at Kristen, then back up at Ned. She softly kissed his lips and laid back on his chest. He kissed her forehead and buried his face in her neck. Just another thing in life Ned had grown to love. It was moments like this that they wanted to last forever.
