Chap 16 After putting on their little make out scene for the nosey, gossip reading residents of PC, Ned and Alexis packed up there stuff and were walking to the car. Brooke tugged on Ned�s hand �Daddy, can we get some ice cream?� She said pointing to the ice cream man. �Brooke, we don�t want to spoil your dinner.� Ned replied �Please daddy (grinning at him with big puppy dogs eyes and a pouty lip) Please..I�ll be your best friend� Brooke said causing Alexis to stiff a laugh. �Yea please daddy..I�ll be your best friend.� Alexis said taking Ned�s hand and dragging him over to the ice cream man. Ned paid the man for the ice cream and joined Alexis and the girls on a nearby bench. He sat down next to Alexis. �Is that ice cream good Brooke?� Ned asked the chocolate faced little girl �Uh huh..really good!� She said eating more of her ice cream. � How's yours sweetheart?� Ned asked Alexis �It�s good..I haven�t enjoyed ice cream this much since that one night when I was pregnant and I made you get up in the middle of the night and go to the store and buy me a pint.� Alexis said smiling at Ned �Thank you.� Alexis said �For what. For the ice cream, Honey you can have that anytime you want it. I mean I think there is some in the freezer right now.� Alexis smiled at Ned. He had some ice cream on the side of his cheek. � Not for the ice cream, for this..spending the whole day with us. It meant so much to Brooke to have her daddy play with her at the park, and push her in the swing, and it meant a lot to me just to have you here. �Alexis started laughing. �What�s so funny?� Ned asked Alexis �You got ice cream on your face� Ned tried to wipe it off but kept missing it. �Here let me help you� Alexis said. She wiped it off with her finger and Ned took her hand and licked it off her finger. Alexis looked at him and got a very seductive grin on her face. Ned knew what she was thinking. �Whelp Brooke, you done? Cause we got to get going....you and Kristen need to take a little nap before we have to head to dinner with Uncle Jax and Chloe.� Ned said winking at Alexis. The Ashton�s showed up at The Outback a few minutes late, do to the fact that Ned and Alexis were enjoying their naps a little to much. They decided to leave the girls at home with Nik and Em, they both jumped at the chance to baby-sit their little cousins. Ned and Alexis walk in the Outback holding hands they glanced around looking for Jax and Chloe, but it seemed that everyone was staring back at them. Alexis looked at her very elegant, spaghetti strapped black dress, with matching black strappy heels. �Is there something on me. Is something hanging out?� Alexis asked Ned. He looked her up and down. �No..but my gawd....you look gorgeous. But you already knew that already didn�t you?� He asked �Yes...I think you told me that several times this evening, But I never get tired of hearing it.� She said leaning closer to him. The waiter walked them to their table were Jax and Chloe were waiting. �Well it�s about time you two showed up. I was beginning to think you stood us up� Jax said as Ned helped Alexis in her seat then sat beside her and wrapped a arm around her shoulder. �Well we are a married couple and we do things that married couples do, if you catch my drift� Ned said to Jax as he kissed Alexis cheek and she placed her hand on Ned�s leg. �How was you day today? Did you guys enjoy the day off with your girls? Speaking of girls, where are they? I thought you were going to be bringing them.� Chloe asked Alexis. �They are at home with Nikolas and Emily. Kristen was a little fussy, plus those two have been wanting to baby-sit ever since Kristen was born. We spent the day at the park. Trying to make as many public appearances as we can to distinguishing the rumors that are flying around about Ned. I think we put out a few of those rumors today. Isn�t that right, Honey� Alexis said as she slid her hand a little further up Ned�s thigh. �Oh yes...I am sure we did.� �I can�t believe people believe that trash in those gossips columns. Can�t they see how in love Ned is with you.� Chloe said as she looked up at a couple that had been staring. �Unfortunately they only see what is happening outside our house and not what�s happening inside. Maybe we should let them do a little expose� on the Ashton�s, maybe a little �Day in the Life� kind of thing� Ned said �Honey, remember your last �Day in the Life�? I ended up on the 11 o�clock news, on the Internet and on the wall in every bar in the United States in my underwear.� Alexis taking a sip on her drink. They finished their dinners. The waiter brought the check and they sat their chatting drinking their drinks when Julia walked in wearing a red very low cut dress. Alexis was the first to notice her. �Well, well, well..if it isn�t the little Ms. Home wrecker.� Ned turned his head and groaned and put his head on the table. Alexis put her hand on his back rubbing it. �It�s okay Honey, you want me to take care of the little tramp?� Alexis said. Chloe glared at Julia and Jax looked at her amused. Julia walked over to the foursome. �Jax! Oh my God, I haven�t seen you in like ages. How long has it been?� Julia said hugging Jax. �Not long enough� Alexis said under her breath causing Ned and Chloe to laugh. �It�s nice to see you Julia, as always.� Jax said kissing Julia on the cheek. Alexis rolled her eyes. Julia holding her hand out to Chloe �And you are?� �Chloe Morgan� �As in the designer, Chloe Morgan?� Julia asked �Yes she would be the one. Now if you don�t mind we are trying to have dinner so how about you just hop on the broomstick of yours and fly away and leave us alone.� Alexis said not missing a beat. Ned looked at her shocked. �Well excuse me. (turning to Ned) Ned, I really think you might need to teach your little powerful attorney turned housewife there some manners.� Julia told Ned �No your the one who needs to be taught a little lesson� Alexis replied standing up. Ned pulled Alexis back down �Honey, please let�s just leave. Let�s not start something here. Remember we are living under a microscope these days� Alexis pulled her arm out of Ned�s grasp and stood back up. �Sorry Honey, but this little tramp needs to be taught a lesson. Ya see, Ned here, is my husband. He loves me! He don�t need you or want you. So keep you grubby hands off. I don�t know why you would think he would ever want you. You did almost put our daughter�s life in danger, if it wasn�t for you upsetting me I wouldn�t have went into premature labor. As a matter of fact her birth brought Ned and I closer together. So I guess I could thank you for that..Oh and by the way, I keep him well satisfied, if you know what I mean.� Alexis said as she sat back down beside Ned. Julia stood there stunned for a moment collecting her thoughts. Julia didn�t move fast enough for Alexis and she stood back up. �Did I stutter? I said turn your little cheap self around and be gone! Go.. fly away!� Julia glared at Alexis as Ned stood up behind Alexis placing his hands on her arms. �Julia, just leave. I�ll talk to you later about setting up a meeting.� Ned said �You are going to let her talk to me like that? What kind of man are you. Are you getting off on two grown women fighting over you?� Julia asked Ned. �Excuse me, but I am not fighting for him. This isn�t a game to be won. He is not some prize to be won. I have him, it�s that simple. You were never in the same league as I.� Alexis said grabbing her drink and taking a sip. Alexis looked down into to her glass then back at Julia. �And just because I have always wanted to do this to someone� Alexis threw her drink in Julia�s face. Alexis laughed as Julia stood there with drink dripping from her face and hair. Ned, Jax ands Chloe all went from shocked expressions to amused laughter. Alexis grabbed Ned�s hand �Well I think I have had enough excitement for one night. You ready to go, sweetheart?� Ned looked at Alexis and smiled. �You are so sexy when your agitated. You have no idea what it does to me� �Oh I can imagine� Alexis said as Ned wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a deep kiss. They left Julia standing there fussing about Alexis ruining her dress and embarrassing her in public and something about suing her or something.. Ned and Alexis walked into the house, Ned turned and looked at Alexis. �Sweetheart what got into to you tonight?� �Julia, I just don�t like her or trust her. She sly and manipulative and I don�t want her anywhere near you. She wants you and I am not up to losing you to her.� Alexis said walking over to the couch. �Alexis, I have to work with her. I have to get this deal. It�s very important. And you will not loose me to her. Why would you even think that.� Ned said �So I guess this deal is more important than, your image in society, your life, your daughters..me� Alexis said as she sat in the couch. Ned went to say something when Nikolas and Emily came down the stairs. Emily was holding a fussing Kristen. �Hey guys..how did dinner go?� Emily asked. �I am sure you�ll read about it in he gossip columns tomorrow.� Alexis replied. �That bad huh?� Nikolas replied. �Yea your aunt here put on a real show stopper tonight.� Alexis looked up at Ned not amused at his tone or statement. Getting up agitated Alexis walked over to Emily and took Kristen from her �I am going up to feed Kristen then head off to bed. It�s been a long night� She said before heading up the stairs. Ned watched her before turning to Nikolas and Emily. �So how did things go here? Did Brooke drive you up the wall. She has had mounds of energy lately.� Ned asked the two teens. �Nah..nothing we couldn�t handle. They are really good children.� Nikolas said �I think Kristen is getting sick or something. She�s been really warm tonight.� Emily said to Ned. �Yea she was that way earlier today after we got back from the park. It�s probably just a cold. Thanks you guys for watching the girls. I think Alexis needed a little break. I hate to rush you guys off, but it�s been a long tiring day and I would like to follow Alexis lead and head off to bed.� Ned said hugging Emily. �Oh sure no problem..anytime you need a baby sitter� Emily began �just call� Nikolas finished. �I will. See you later! and thanks again� Ned said ushering them out the front door. Ned peeked in on Brooke before heading to bed. He opened the door and Alexis had already feed Kristen, they were both sleeping peacefully. Ned changed clothes turned of the lamp and climbed into bed. He wanted to talk to Alexis but it didn�t look like it would be tonight he kissed Kristen�s forehead and rolled over and fell asleep in minutes. |
