Chap 12 GH the next day.. Alexis was sitting on the edge of the bed. She had taken a shower gotten dress and was waiting on Ned to come back with her release papers. She slowly got off the bed and walked over to Kristen in the bassinet. She picked her up, and brought her to her face kissing her chubby little cheeks and pressing her forehead on hers. She still couldn't believe that she was here, that she was a mother, that Kristen was her baby and she was happy. If she never won another court case in her life, she would be happy, her life is now complete. She has a wonderful husband in Ned and a beautiful daughter, Kristen, and a wonderful stepdaughter, Brooke-Lynn. It warmed her heart when Ned's daughter called her mommy. Alexis and Brooke have a special bond. They have only really been together alone by themselves once, and only for a few hours, and they just clicked. They developed a special bond. It was like Brooke had known Alexis since she was born and Brooke had grown very fond of her new "mommy". Alexis didn't know why she was so afraid to get close to the little girl in the beginning and now she couldn't imagine her life without Brooke in it. In some ways Brooke-Lynn was more like Alexis then she knew. Alexis and Brooke-Lynn now share a special bond and a mutual affection for one man, Brooke's daddy and Alexis husband, Ned Ashton. Ned walked in the room waving release papers. "You ready to spring out of this joint?" He asked Alexis as he walked over to her. "More than you know. I can't wait to get home and eat some nutrious popcorn. Sit on my own couch, sleep in my own bed. You know you really need to talk to your grandfather about the hideous food they serve here in the hospital. If you weren't all that sick when you were admitted, by the time you have to eat the food for several days, you might as well be. It's really nasty." She said as Ned took Kristen from her. "Where's Brooke? I thought she would be here with you to pick me up." Alexis asked looking around for the little girl. "Em took her to the park this morning, she said she'll will bring her home later. She wanted to give you a little time to get back into your surroundings before you have to deal with a new baby and a six year old." Ned said looking down at his baby girl. "That's so sweet of her. I am sure we have a baby-sitter in that one. Last night when you brought her and Lila back up here, you saw her, she couldn't keep her hands off her. She is so excited about her new little cousin." A nurse walked in with a wheel chair. "Mrs. Ashton, you ready to get out of here?" Ned asked as he held out his hand for Alexis to take. "You bet" she said and they walked over and Ned helped her sit down and handed her Kristen. Ned grabbed Alexis overnight bag, the diaper bag and the little teddy bears that were sitting in the bassinet with Kristen. As they walked down the hall, Ned told one of the nurses to give the flowers that was left in Alexis room to some patient that did not have any. Alexis smiled at him and took his hand as he walked beside her down the hall out to their car. They arrived home, Ned opened the front door and ushered Alexis in. Her eyes lit up when she saw the sign "Welcome Home, Beautiful" Ned had hung up for her and below it one that said "Welcome Home, Princess" for his little girl. She turned around to Ned, she smiled at him as she walked towards him, he carefully sat the car seat down making sure not to wake Kristen, Alexis wrapped her arms around Ned's neck and he pulled her close to him. "I love you, Mr. Ashton" Alexis said as she buried her face in Ned's neck. "And I love you too, Mrs. Ashton" Alexis lifted her head back looking into Ned's eyes. They smiled at each other before Ned placed his hands on the sides of Alexis face and pulled her into a soft gentle kiss, she pulled back and look at Ned before he pulled her back into a more passionate kiss. A few hours later, Alexis had gotten back into the groove of things. She made her and Ned some popcorn for a snack before dinner when Emily and Brooke got home. Kristen had settled and adjusted to her new home quite well. Kristen was asleep in her crib and Alexis was going through Kristen closet looking at the different outfits that she had bought and hanging up the ones that friends had brought for her while she was in the hospital. Ned was downstairs looking over some L&B contracts. Brooke-Lynn and Emily came busting through the door "Beat ya..I won!" Brooke yelled as she ran up to Ned. "Daddy! Is mommy and Kristen home?" Ned picked her up and hugged her then put her back down. "Shh..yes they are home, but you have to be quite, Kristen is sleeping" Emily chimes in 'When isn't she. She is just like Alexis when it comes to sleeping. They have to get there beauty sleep" They laughed as Alexis came down the stairs with Kristen's baby monitor in her hand. 'What's so funny? What did I miss?" Alexis asked. "Nothing, sweetheart, just laughing at your expense." �What..what did I do?" "Oh nothing..so what's for dinner" Emily asked walking past Alexis heading for the kitchen. Brooke ran over to Alexis "Mommy, Emily took me to the park and we swung on the swings. I got to swing really high. (laughing) I think I scared Em when I jumped out of the swing." Alexis gasped "You jumped out of a swing? (Brooke grinned at shook her head "yes") EMILY!" Alexis yelled. "Sweetheart, it's okay see look at Brooke, she didn't hurt or brake anything. She was just playing" Ned said turning Brooke around to examine her. Emily came walking out of the kitchen with a glass of coke and a bag of chips. "You called?" She asked as she popped a chip in her mouth. "You let Brooke-Lynn jump out of a swing? She could have broken a arm or a leg or gotten seriously hurt!" Alexis asked �Yes, so what's the big deal. I used to do it all the time when I was a little girl." Emily said before took a sip of coke. 'Oh my God, didn't your mother ever tell you could get hurt doing that?" Emily rolled her eyes "Yea, she did, and nothings broken, besides I did it all the time when I was younger..." Emily sat down on the couch and Brooke-Lynn sat down beside her. "Well I'll tell you this, Kristen will never do that. (pointing at Ned) You hear me..she will NEVER do that!" Alexis said walking towards the desk where Ned had sat down. Ned pulled Alexis into his lap, changing the subject "So what do you ladies want for dinner?" They all yelled different things all at the same time. "Chinese" Alexis yelled. "Hamburgers" Emily yelled. Brooke yelled "Pizza!" Ned pointed to Brooke-Lynn "Ah pizza it is..(Alexis and Emily look defeated as Brooke grinned from ear to ear)Actually I order it a little while ago..it should be here in 15 minutes. Brooke why don't you and Em go upstairs and wash up and get ready for dinner" Ned said. "Try and be quite, Kristen is in her room sleeping" Alexis chimed in before the girls disappeared up stairs. After dinner Emily took Brooke-Lynn upstairs gave her and bath and got her ready for bed. She poked her head in Kristen's room. She quietly walked over to her bed. She looked down at her little cousin "You know you are one lucky little girl. You got a mommy and daddy and a big sister that love you very much. Don't ever take them for granted. They are all you have. I wish I had a family like you do. My mom died a few years ago and your Aunt Monica was her best friend and she promised my mom that she would take care of me. She has, but the mansion is like a war zone. They are constantly fighting and arguing, your daddy got out when the getting was good. If I was only that lucky. Your mommy came along and took him away from all that craziness. Only if only my prince charming would come and take me away from it all. (Kristen begins to wake up) Oh I better scoot before they think I came in here and woke you up. Love you little girl." Emily kissed her fingers and placed the kiss on Kristen's forehead before heading out of Brooke's room and them going back downstairs. Ned and Alexis were cuddled on the couch sleeping when the two girls came down. Emily felt bad for having to wake them. "Uh.. excuse me (Ned slowly opened his eyes)Brooke wanted to tell you guys goodnight" Ned quietly told Brooke-Lynn good night and kissed her forehead. Brooke whispered good night back and told Ned to tell Alexis she said good night. The little girl kissed Alexis cheek before she headed back upstairs for the night. As they headed to Brooke's room, Brooke-Lynn wanted to see Kristen and tell good night. They walked into Kristen's room and over to her crib " Good night little sister. I love you..try not to keep me up tonight. I have a long busy playful day ahead of me tomorrow and I need my rest" Brooke touched Kristen's hand through the rails of her crib. Emily picked Brooke-Lynn up and carried her to her room. "Nite squirt" Emily said as she tucked Brooke-Lynn into bed. Ned and Alexis were still sleeping on the couch when Emily came back downstairs. Ned opened his eyes. Emily motioned for him not to get up. "I'll see you guys later. Brooke's in bed, but it looks like Kristen maybe waking up." Emily whispered. "Okay, see you later Em and thanks for taking care of Brooke today. I know she enjoyed it." Ned said rubbing Alexis back. Emily left. Ned wrapped his arms around Alexis and kissed her forehead causing her to slowly open her eyes. She smiled at him as he leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips. "Alone finally" he said. She looked around 'Where's Em and Brooke-Lynn?" Alexis asked. "Emily put Brooke to bed and she just left. She said she'll she you later. She didn't want to wake you up. She said she knows you need all the rest you can get because(Kristen begins crying) Kristen is waking up" Ned laughed as he and Alexis sat up and stretch. "Oh I have a feeling this is going to be one long night" Alexis said as she got up from the couch yawning. Ned followed suit and wrapped his arm around her waist as they headed up stairs for there first of many sleepless nights. |
