Chap 10

GH Next Morning..

Alexis lay resting with Kristen snuggled warmly in her mothers arms. Ned
left early, before Alexis awoke, to go pick up a surprise for her. Ned
slowly opened the door and stuck his head in the door. He smiled at the
site before him. His wife, the love of his life, lay sleeping peacefully
with their daughter, their little miracle, wrapped warm and snuggly in a
pink little blanket in her mothers protective arms. He disappeared behind
the door for a minute before he walked in carrying a dozen pink roses and a
little pink teddy bear. He pulled a chair quietly up beside Alexis bed.
Before he sat down he gently placed tiny little kisses on Kristen�s head. He
gently took Alexis' hand and brought it to his lips kissing it, causing her
to stir slightly. She didn't wake so Ned stood and lean in and kissed
Alexis on the lips. She still didn't wake so he kissed her again cause her
to bring her hand up to the side of his face. She slowly opened her eyes
and smiled with her lips still on Ned's and they kissed again, a little
more passionately.

"Now a girl could get used to waking up like that every morning" She kissed
him again before he sat back down and took her hand. "Morning sweetheart.
How are you feeling" Ned asked Alexis as he unconsciously played with her
wedding rings. Alexis slightly shifts uncomfortably and easily trying not
to disturb Kristen " A little sore, but I think I'll make it." She noticed
the vase of flowers sitting on the night stand beside her. "The flowers are
gorgeous. But you really didn't have too (motioning around the room) this
place already lo!
oks like a florists" Ned smiled " They are not for you"
Alexis looked at Ned confused "If they aren't for me then who are
they...are you cheating on me already? We have only been married for a few
months..How dare you?! (She slapped his arm playfully) I mean my goodness,
I just went through hours of labor with no drugs to have your..our child,
and this is how you pay me back..by cheating on me with another
women..Couldn't you have at least waited till I had gotten out of the hospital and back on my own two feet?" Ned smiled "yes I do have another lady
in my life (Alexis squinted her eyes at him) actually I have three ladies
in my life. (Alexis' had a "OH MY GAWD" expressio!
n of her face) my number
one lady would be (pointing at Alexis) you (she smiles at him as he leans
over to kiss her) the only love of my life, then number two would be
(looking down at Kristen and gently running his hand across her fuzzy dark
haired little head) this little angel right here. (he leaned down and
kissed her forehead and looked up at Alexis who had tears in her eyes).
They both looked down at Kristen and smiled at her, she was making funny
faces and little noises as she stretch and wiggled further down into Alexis
arms finally snugly as she made her self comfortable. Alexis looked up at
Ned who was grinning from ear to ear. She smiled through her happy tears at
a full dimpled grin Ned. "So what's gotten you in such a good
mood..(remembering he said 3 ladies) OH.. and who would be the third lady
in your
life..There's me, Kristen and..?" Ned was smiling and Alexis poked her
finger in his nearest dimple. "I got a surprise for. Are you up for it" Ned
said as he got up from the chair. "I am always up for surprises. When am I
not up for surprises.." She said as Ned walked towards the door "Are you
sure." She glared at Ned " You better not be teasing me cause if you are.."
Her words trailed off as smiling Brooke-Lynn appeared in the doorway
"Brooke-Lynn!" Alexis said a little to loudly startling Kristen. "What are
you doing here (to Ned) What is she doing here?" "Brooke-Lynn looked up at
Ned "She's not happy to see me?" "Oh Brooke, yes I am happy to see you. I
am just a little surprised that your here that's all..I can't believe your
actually here." "Lois will be on tour all summer and she asked if Brooke
could stay with me and I couldn't pass up and opportunity to spend time
with my oldest daughter and I thought that maybe we could go on a family
vacation or just spend some time becoming a family..a real family"
Ned said as he played with Brooke-Lynn's long dark brown hair. "I would
love to spend the whole summer with Brooke." Brooke smiled back at Alexis.
"Well are you gonna stand in the doorway or are you going to come over and
see..(Brooke was hesitate and Alexis realized that hadn't seen each other
sense the non-wedding) Oh Brooke I am so sorry I ran out at the wedding..I
was scared and I..I..Oh gawd you must hate me..I say I love your daddy then
I turn and run leaving you all there standing there confused and all I can
say is I am so sorry..please forgi!
ve me." Alexis trailed off not knowing
what else to say. Ned slightly nudged Brooke and she walked over to Alexis.
Brooke smiled as she walked over to Alexis. Ned was walking behind her,
slightly pushing here forward. Ned picked Brooke up and stood her in the
chair next to Alexis bed. Alexis smiled at Brooke and Brooke returned the
smile full dimpled. "Daddy told me you ran because you were scared and I
was sad cause I really like you..but don't be scared it will
be okay..somtimes when it rains with thunder and lighting, I get really
scared and I run and hide. Sometimes I even cry..But I know nothing can
hurt me..cause I have little angels around me, watching over me..at least
that's what mamma says..(Ned and Alexis smiled at Brooke) " Brooke please
believe me, I never meant to hurt you or your daddy..I love you both very
much. I just got spooked by the whole wife, and forever and ever
thing..Forever is a long time and I guess I just wasn't ready at the time.
But we are married now. If that makes you happy..And I will never be
leaving your father again" Brooke's smile faded "Are you not happy that I
married your daddy?" "Yea I am happy, cause I like you really a lot. It's
just I didn't!

wrapped his arms around the little girl "Brooke baby, how about (thinking)
how about when Lex gets out of the hospital and she is up to it that we go
out for a night on the town in New York City, eat at a fancy restaurant, go
see Broadway show..get some ice cream go to FOA Swartz, the big huge toy
store and buy you whatever toys dolls you want go the Central Park and ride
the carousel" Brookes eye got real big and she had a full fledged dimpled
smile " A toy store? OH that sounds so cool and I can wear my pretty dress
and my new shoes and (turning to Alexis) can you fix my hair pretty likehow you fix yours sometimes..and I can wear a tiara (She turns back to Ned)please daddy" Ned hugged the little girl " Sure baby..whatever youwant..okay it will be your night" "Oh Boy!!" Brooke said as she hugged herdaddy tightly and she turned to hug Alexis and froze when she saw a tinypink blanket move in Alexis arms. "Is that..is that my baby sister?" "Yesit is..Brooke-Lynn this is you little sister Kristen Nicole, Kristen thisis you big sister Brooke-Lynn" Alexis said looking between both girls. "She is so tiny..is she sick?" Ned sat Brooke on the bed beside Alexis 'Nobaby she isn't sick..she's was born a little early so she just didn't have time to get any bigger" "Oh.." Brooke said staring at the littlepick bundle "Do you want to hold her" Alexis asked Brooke who looked at herwith big eyes. "You mean I can hold her..mommy never lets me hold babies,she says I am to little and I might drop them" "Don't listen to mommy..Youare daddy's big girl and you can hold Kristen anytime you want too. All youhave to do is ask" Ned said brushing a strand of hair off her shoulder.Brooke looked up at Alexis "Lex, can I..uum..can I hold Kristen" "You surecan" Alexis said as she move Kristen into Brooke-Lynn's waiting arms"Okay..hold her head right here (Alexis let go of Kristen) okay you got her(Brooke quickly shook her head yes) Good..now see (she held up her hands)your holding her all by yourself..that's a big girl" "I'm doingit..(Kristen wiggled trying to get comfortable) Wha..what is she doing..isshe going to break..is she going to fall?" A nervous Brooke asked.Chuckling Ned said "No princess she would break..she is just trying to getcomfortable so she can sleep better. (Kristen stopped moving) See there sheall settled..I think she likes being in her big sisters arms..Why don't youtalk to her" Brooke looked up at Ned then back down to Kristen "what do Isay to her?" 'Say whatever you want..lay down the law on what toys she canand not play with..tell her she has to stay out of your room when you arebusy..just tell her anything..she'll listen and she won't go anywhere"Alexis said with her arm around Brooke playing with her hair. "Okay..lemmesee..Kristen I am you BIG sister Brooke-Lynn..but everyone calls me Brooke,so you can too. I am so happy that you are here..cause now I'll havesomeone to play with when I come visit daddy..you see I live with my mommysomewhere else..we have the same daddy but not the same mommy..you got agood mommy..she's pretty and she's funny and she really really loves daddy(A tear fell down Alexis cheek) When you get a little bigger, maybe we canplay dress-up in mommy's closet (Alexis looked up at Ned surprised cause Brooke had just called her mommy and Ned smiled lovingly backat her) we can put on her business suits, play in her high heels..(leaningdown to Kristen) we can even get into her make-up..that will be so muchfun..(thinking) I can teach you how to tie your shoes..how to say yourABC's and 123's..I can't teach you how to ride a bike, cause I really don'tknow how to do that myself..maybe daddy can teach me while I am here andthen I can teach you (Brooke looked up and Ned and he shook his head yes)Oh I have this one doll..that you can not touch..daddy gave it to me when Iwas a little baby and I sleep with it every night, so you can't play withthat one..but all my others I think you can pretty much play with..maybedaddy can get you one to sleep with too..it makes me feel safe at nightwhen she is there..you can play with all my barbies and stuff animals..doesthat sound okay with you (Kristen made a funny face) I guess that was ayes? (she looks up at Ned then to Alexis they both shake theirs heads) Well good then..Kristen I am so glad you my little sister..I won't letnoone ever hurt you..and if someone picks on you..you just send them tome..I'll beat them up for you.." Brooke finished and kissed Kristen's head.Alexis wrapped her arms around both Brooke-Lynn and Kristen. She closes hereyes capturing this moment so it will forever live in her memory. Ned getsup and gets his camera "Well if this is a Kodak moment..my three favoriteladies..I want to take a picture then blow it up and put it on my officewall so the whole world can see my beautiful ladies." "Uh..I would rathernot be displayed on any wall..Been there, done that. Would rather notrelive that again" Ned laughed as he held the camera up "Just smile and saycheese" Alexis wrapped her arm around Brooke with her other hand holdingKristen they all smiled as Ned took the picture..a picture he will forevercherish.
