CHAPTER ONE "Come again" Alexis said. "Well Ms. Davis it seems that you are 8 weeks pregnant." Dr. Newman said. Alexis just sat there staring off in space she seemed to have a hard time breathing. Dr Newman "Ms. Davis, are you all right? You don't look to good. Do you need a paperbag or anything. You seem to be having a hard time breathing" "UUhhhh..yea..yea..I am fine. I do this all the time and NO thank-you I don't need a paperbag. I got my own right here" Alexis pulls the bag out of here purse, "I just need a little time to let this sink in. So what do I do next?" Alexis asked a little helpless. "Well let's set you up for your next appointment and get you a prescription for some prenatal vitamins and let's just take this one day at a time. Women have children all the time. You'll be just fine." and with that Dr. Newman left. Alexis slowly got dressed and placed her hand on her stomach "Well it looks like it's you and me kid. I am a little scared cause well ..I never done this before and your daddy doesn't like me anymore, So I don't know how well I am gonna be able to handle you and my clients. Clients..your daddy doesn't like my client, Mr. Sonny, he is a Godfather wannabe and your daddy doesn't think that I should be his lawyer, I know I shouldn't be, but I am not gonna admit that to him, cause well I am Alexis Davis, I am a Cassadine..okay..well lets just put it this way, your daddy and I have some issues, But don't worry, we will be alright I promise you that. I will never let anything happen to you and I promise you will have the best life, the life your father and I never had" Alexis was walking down the hall thinking back to when the baby was probably conceived. ****** Flashback ******** Alexis: I -- I just want you to know that I�m not the kind of girl who goes past second base on the first date Ned: Oh. Okay. Well, I definitely don�t want to do anything that you don�t want me to do. So� we�ll just hold each other, keep dancing? Would that be all right? Alexis: I guess so. Ned: If I do anything that you don�t want me to do, you just tell me, okay, and I�ll stop. Alexis: Okay. Ned: Okay. Ned: You want me to stop? Alexis: Not yet. Ned: You want me to stop? Alexis: Not yet. Ned: You know it�s getting late. What if I don�t get you back before your curfew? Alexis: We�re not going to make it back by curfew. Ned: Sorry. My make-out technique is a little rough. Alexis: You know, it�s better than the back seat of a car. Ned: Mmm. Alexis: Or so I�ve been told. Ned: Fortunately,) we don�t have to worry about parents or curfew. Alexis: Forget about our parents. Alexis: Let�s just go all the way. ****** End of Flashback ****** "Well at least it wasn't in a back seat of a car.."Alexis said out loud. She was brought out of her thoughts when she run literally into.. "Ned!" Alexis said surprised to see him. "Alexis. What wasn't in the back seat of a car?" Ned said back just as surprised. "OOHh uumm.. nothing..I was just talking to myself..so uumm..Wha..what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be on tour or something? I thought you were touring the UK for like 8 weeks or something, not that I keep up with you or anything..I have just heard from a Chloe and Nik and well everybody...(Ned was smiling as she rambled nervously) ..well anyway I am rambling..so I'll shut-up." Ned bent down to pick up the piece of paper that fell out of Alexis' stack of pregnancy brochures. Ned looked at it questioningly and Alexis just bit her lip hoping he couldn't make out the doctors handwriting.. "Here..(handing it back to Alexis)Are you okay? Are you sick, do you have the flu? You look at little pale" "Nahh..I am fine, not that it's any of your concern, it's just my birth control prescription re-fill..(thinking to herself..Good one Alexis, couldn't you have came up with a better lie than that) "Oh..so who ya sleeping with these days, Lady Lawyer? Sonny? Zander? I know it sure isn't me!"Ned said kind of cold and wish he could have took it back just as soon as it flew out of his mouth. The comment shocked Alexis. All she could do was stand there her face expressionless. She couldn't believe Ned had just said that to her. Before she started to cry, she had to leave. Alexis was at a lose for words.."Well uum..Mr. Ashton, have fun touring, Mic Jagger!" and Alexis walked away and the tears that were threatening to fall, starting falling. Ned stood there with a sad look on his face tears forming in his eyes, realizing he still loved her and probably always will but he knew he just hurt her more than he ever could have. |
