-Chapter 9 It's late and Alexis is standing on the docks looking out at the water. She's suppose to meet Ned and he's already a half hour late. She decides to try and call him again on his cell phone, but there's no answer. The fog is really thick and Alexis is getting cold. She's really starting to get upset, she doesn't like this sickening feeling she's getting in her stomach. Another 10 minutes have passed, and Ned is still no where in sight. Alexis looks up and sees someone approaching her, she walks towards them with this relief that it is Ned. As she gets closer she stops dead in her tracks realizing that the figure before her is not Ned but Helena. Helena: Oh my Natasha, what are you doing standing here all alone? Alexis: I..I.....I was just waiting for someone. Helena: Oh dear child don't fear, he will be here. Alexis: Who? Helena just laughs and a man appears behind her. He's got Ned by the throat. Helena: Why the man you love of course. Alexis:Ned! Oh my God No! Please Helena let him go. Helena: Your wish is my command. Helena motions to the man to let him go. The man throws his body to the ground. Ned hits the pavement head first. Alexis looks down and sees blood running from his ear. She runs over to him and throws her body on top of his. Alexis: Ned...... Ned Please wake up. I love you, don't die on me. Helena: Oh my darling husbands bastard daughter, it's to late he's already dead. Alexis: (looks up at Helena and then back down to Ned and yells) Noooooo! Ned comes running out of the bathroom and runs over to the bed. He grabs Alexis, sweetheart it's okay wake up! Alexis Alexis Alexis:( looking up and seeing Ned) Ned! Your alive. Oh god Ned don't ever leave me please.(she lays her head down on his chest and starts to cry) Ned: It's okay Alexis (he grabs a hold of her and tries his hardest to calm her down) It was only a nightmare! Alexis: (still crying and a little out of it) Ne...Ne......Ned where are we. I......I'm..... Ned: Alexis you here at the gatehouse with me, Ned. It's okay. Everything is going to be okay. I promise. Ned holds Alexis tight as he slowly lays back onto his pillow. Her body almost lifeless falls down with him. Ned takes his hand and gently rubs her hair. Ned: It's okay Alexis I'm here. Just close your eyes and dream of us. Alexis: Ned.. Ned: shhhh just close your eyes. Alexis looks out into space, her eyes are getting heavier by the minute and soon she is sound a sleep. Ned just lays there, holding her, and watches her sleep. Scene II Alexis slowly wakes up. She is still laying on Ned and it doesn't look like he's gotten much sleep. Alexis starts to sit up and stares at Ned a moment before speaking. Alexis: Ned honey, I'm so sorry. Ned:Hey there is nothing to be sorry about. (he sits up and wraps his arms around her) I just don't like the fact that you are having these nightmares. Alexis sweetheart this can't be good for the baby. Alexis: Oh my god the baby! How do you think Helena is going to feel when she hears about the baby. Ned: Alexis you need to calm down. Don't worry about Helena. The more you worry about her the more likely your are to have these horrible nightmares. Alexis: but Ned.. Ned: But Ned nothing. Everything is going to be alright. I'm going to call Monica and ask her to stop by and look at you. Alexis: Ned you don't need to call her, really I'm fine. Ned:(picking up the phone) I'm calling her and that's that. Scene III Alexis is sitting on the couch, while Ned paces back and forth. Monica is there and she is checking Alexis blood pressure. Ned:Well how is she? Monica: Her blood pressure is a little high, (looking at Ned) and she should be in bed! Ned: (looking at Alexis and then back to Monica) I tried to tell her that myself, but she convinced me she was fine. Monica: Well that's your probably Ned, you always give in to easy. (she laughs, and gathers her things) Well I need to be getting going, and you (looking at Alexis) need to make an appointment with your doctor. Ned: Don't worry Monica (walking her to the door) I'll make sure she calls her this morning. Bye! (Monica leaves) Ned walks over and picks up the portable phone and Alexis's phonebook. He hands them to her. Ned: I want you to call her right now! Alexis: You know Ned Ashton you worry to much (Ned gives her that stern look, she looks down and starts to dial) Yes this is Alexis Davis and I need to make an appointment. Tomorrow at 9:00 I'll be there. (she hangs up the phone) Happy now! Ned: No not really, I'll be happy after she tells us everything is alright. Alexis just looks at Ned and smiles. He gets up and grabs both of her hands pulling her to her feet. Alexis: Are we going someplace? (He picks her up) Ned: Yes your going back to bed and I'm going to make you breakfast. (he carries her upstairs. All she can think about is it's going to be a long day) Scene IV It's around 12:00 and Ned is sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace, playing with his guitar. Alexis comes downstairs wearing nothing but Neds shirt. She walks over and sits down next to him. He places his guitar next to him and wraps his arms around her. Ned: What are you doing down here, your suppose to be in bed? (ho looks over at his guitar) Oh I'm sorry sweetie did I wake you? Alexis: No. I couldn't sleep, and I'm not going back upstairs, unless of course you come with me. (Ned just smiles at her and starts to laugh) What's so funny. Ned: (who can't stop laughing) well I was just think how sexy you look in my shirt and it dawned on me that before long it won't even fit you. (Alexis just looks at him and gives him a you're going to pay for that later look) Alexis: You do realize this is all your fault. Ned:My fault.....I Alexis: Yes your fault! If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be blowing up like a balloon. (Ned just laughs at the thought) If I were you I'd stop laughing at me.(she picks up the pillow she was leaning on and hits him with it) Ned: Oh so you want to play games, do ya? (he takes the pillow out from behind him) Alexis: You would hit a pregnant women,............ would ya? Ned: No of course not......... Alexis: Thank you. Just then Ned grabs her and tosses her over him throwing her down on to the pillow. Alexis screams. Ned: but that doesn't mean I wouldn't do something else to a pregnant women. (she starts to laugh as he leans down and kisses her) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 10 Helena and her henchmen are standing on the docks. Helena: Well! What did you find out? Arie:I've got some interesting news Madame. (Helena looks intrigued) It seems that Alexis is pregnant. Helena: (unaware of Alexis marital situation) Really so Jax and Alexis are going to have a baby, well I must congratulate the happy couple. (she's got this evil look in her eyes) Arie: Well it also seems that Ms Davis has been staying with Mr Ashton at the Gatehouse while Jax is away on business. Helena:(looking out into the water) I wonder if my husbands bastard daughter is having a bastard child as well? (she stops and thinks) None the less, I want you to personal delivery flowers to the gatehouse, congratulating the happy couple. Scene II It's around 11:00 the next day. Ned & Alexis have just arrived at the Grille after seeing her Doctor. Ned is very happy to hear that as long as Alexis stays calm and gets plenty of rest the baby will be fine. Ned: (sitting down at a table) I really wish you'd let me take you upstairs...We. Alexis: Now Ned we haven't even eaten yet. (she starts to laugh) Ned: (becoming a little annoyed)Funny! I meant so you could rest and we could order room service. Alexis: You know Ned you really do need to lighten up. I'm pregnant not...... Ned: Don't even say it. Alexis: (looking down) I'm sorry. What do you say we order lunch and then go upstairs.(she looks up at him with her depressed eyes) Ned: (once again giving in) Fine, as long as you promise to take a nap after lunch. Alexis: (Holding up her right hand) I promise. Lets order, I'm starved. They've just finishing eating lunch, and Ned suggest that go up to her suite and order dessert. When Edward walks over. Edward: Well Ned I see you still have the same low class in dinning companion!(looking at Alexis) Alexis: Well Edward as always it's such a pleasure to see you. Ned: Grandfather, Alexis is the woman I love and I will not have you speaking about her that way. Edward: Poor Ned, never could find himself a real woman. (Ned just looks at him in disbelief) My dear have you gained weight? Ned: That's enough old man. You've made yourself clear now leave. (Ned gets up and Edward leaves) Alexis: Ned Honey do I really look fat? Ned: (walking over to Alexis and grabbing her hands) You amaze me. (Alexis looks at him confused) That old man just came over here and insulted you. Not once but twice, and all you are worried about is if you look fat. (he pulls her to her feet) Alexis: (who's not showing at all) Well do I Ned: No of course not, if anything your even more beautiful then your were yesterday. (he laughs at her) Come on silly let's go upstairs. Scene III On the way up to her Suite a man stops them to inform Ned that he is needed in the kitchen. There seems to be a slight problem with one of the employees. Alexis urges him to go check it out while she goes up to the Suite and waits for him. Ned seeing no other choice, agrees. He kisses her and the forehead a tells her he won't be long. Alexis enters her Suite and begins to shut the door when a man puts his arm in the door, It's Arie. Alexis: What do you want? Arie: I have something for you (handing her the flowers) They're from Helena. Alexis looks concerned but her curiosity gets the better off her and she takes the flowers. Arie leaves. Alexis puts the flowers down on the table and notices a card. She opens it up and reads it. Her face goes blank and the tears start to form in her eyes. She walks over to the couch and sits down. About a half hour later Ned walks into the Suite and see Alexis lying on the couch crying, he immediately walks over to her to find out what's wrong. Ned: Hey did something happen while I was gone? Alexis: Yes. Ned: What? Alexis : (sitting up) Arie was just here and he brought me these flowers. (she hands him the note, and he reads it) Ned: "Congratulations on your little one. If there ever is one". Alexis: She's going to try and kill our baby. (She burst out in tears. Ned grabs her and holds her tight. He knows that she needs to calm down for the sake of their unborn child) Ned: Come on lay down. (she lays back on to the couch) Here put your feet up. Alexis: Ned I'm so scared. What do you think....(he places his finger over her lips) Ned: Shhhh (he unbuttons her blouse and lays his head on her stomach. Alexis just looks at him and smiles as he begins to sing their child a lullaby) |
