CHAPTER 6

Two days later

Alexis tries to unlock her door while talking on the phone and trying not to drop any of her papers. �Yes I know they wanted it by yesterday but we all have thing that we want and don�t get��no I�m not going to send it over today�..if you people would have gotten me the information I needed on time in the first place we wouldn�t be having this problem.� She finally manages to get the door open. She drops her files and purse on the table and turns on the light. �No I don�t think so, it�s not my problem it�s yours.� She begins to yell in the phone as she turns around and her jaw drops. Her suite is completely covered with boutiques of every, completely different type of flower there is. �Listen I have to go and you�ll get the contracts as soon as I get them done.� She hangs up the phone.

Ned comes walking out of her bedroom. �Don�t worry if you don�t like
any of these, there are plenty more in your room to choose from.�

�Ned Ashton what have you done?�

He walks over to her and hands her a long steam red rose. �We need to choose flowers for our wedding and I just didn�t know what type you preferred.� He takes the rose from her and places it in her mouth and kisses her. �So I had the florist send you an arrangement of everything they had.�

�Darling I love you, but don�t you think you�re getting a little carried away with this wedding?�

�Nonsense, nothing is to good for you.� He replies as he picks her up in his arms and kisses her.

Emily� Room

�So what does it say?� Liz asked as Emily came out of the bathroom.

�I�m pregnant.� Emily stated while crying.

�Oh Em I�m so sorry.� Liz replied as she embraced her.

�I still can�t believe this is happening.�

�Emily things will look better after you tell Nikolas.�

Emily pushed Liz away. �What I�m not telling Nikolas anything.�

�You�re not telling me anything about what? Nikolas asked as he climbed through her bedroom window.

Em quickly hid the pregnancy stick behind her back and looked away from him.

�You know I think I�m just going to leave the two of you alone.� Liz said before she left.

�Emily please tell me what�s wrong?� Nikolas begged.

�What makes you think anything�s wrong?�

�For starters I haven�t seen or heard from you in two days, plus when I walked in here you were crying.�

�I just got into a huge fight with my parents, that�s all.� Emily lied.

Nikolas walked up to her and went to put his arms around her but she pulled away. �Emily did I do something or say something that hurt you?�

�NO.� She quickly stated. �If anything I�ve hurt you.�

�You never did anything to hurt me.�

�When you find what I�ve done Nikolas you�ll hate me.� She started to cry.

�Emily what are you talking about? What did you do?�

Emily couldn�t bear to look at him and it was killing him. �Emily I love you please don�t shut me out.�

Emily looked up at him. �Do you remember the first time we had sex in the pool house?�

�Of course I do it was magical, I could never forget that day.�

�We were so into each other that neither one of us thought about stopping for any reason.�

�What reason could we possible have for stopping? We both wanted each other so much.� Nikolas added.

�But we should have stopped.� Emily screamed.

�Are you telling me you didn�t want it ��that I forced my way on you?�

�No!� She screamed. �I wanted you and I still do.�

�Then what Emily tell me what it is your trying to tell me.�

�This.� She said as she handed him the stick.

Nikolas looked at it and then back at her. �What is it?�

�You have no idea what it is?�

�I�m sorry no I don�t.�

�It�s a pregnancy test you idiot, I�m pregnant.� She hollered.

Ned carries Alexis into her room and gently sits her on the bed. He gets down on his knees and unbuttons her blouse discarding it along with her bra. He grabs her pillows and places them at the foot of her bed. �Lay down on your stomach.� He tells her and she does. He walks into the bathroom and grabs some lotion. �I had them put some of my favorites in here. It makes the room smell so good, don�t you think?� he yells out to her.

Alexis closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. �It sure does.�

Ned walks back out and sits on top of her straddling his body across hers. He slowly pours the lotion on her back.

�OH god that�s cold.� Alexis states.

�Sorry.� Ned replies as he rubs the lotion into her skin. Alexis closes her eyes again as she allows his hands to work their magic on her tight muscles. �I hope this makes up for it.�

�You bet it does.�

Ned continues to massage her back and shoulders and couldn�t be happier to see that she has begun to completely relax under his touch. He moves his hands and body south as he unzips the zipper on the side of her skirt and maneuvers it off of her.

�Bad day at work?� He asked as he poured lotion on to the back of her legs and began working it in.

�I�ve had much better.� She replied. �That feels so good.�

�I�m glad.� He stated as he placed his hand under her waist and flipped her over. �Want to tell me who you were yelling at on the phone when you walked through the door?�

�Not really!� She screamed as Ned poured more cold lotion on her skin. �I don�t want to talk about work, or anything else for that matter.� She added as she closed her eyes and just enjoyed his touch.

Ned rubbed the lotion into her stomach before moving his hands over to her arms and eventually onto to her chest.

He grabbed her breast tightly and massaged them completely. A smile came across Alexis� face as he played with her nipple. He stared at her for a while before he took his tongue and began licking her neck making his way down her body.

�What are you doing?� Alexis asked, looking down on him. �Doesn�t that stuff taste nasty.

�Close your eyes and relax.� Ned replied. �Don�t worry the stuff is edible.

�And just where do you shop?� Alexis asked teasingly.

�I�ll never tell.� He said as he slid his hands under her ass and bit the inside of her right thigh making her nearly jump out of her skin. �Tickle?� He asked with a huge grin.

�Just a little.� She replied.

Ned couldn�t help but laugh as she tried to squirm her way away from him as he continued to bite her inner thigh. �Okay I�ll stop.� He said as he brought his hands up and removed her undies.

�Promise?�

�Promise.� He said while flashing his dimples. �Besides I can think of better ways to get you aroused.

�Oh yea like what?� She asked as he slid his body up hers and pulled her into a deep longing kiss.

�Like this.�

They continued to make love to one another that way until he pulled his body weight over bringing her with him. They never lost contact with one another as her body was now over taking his. She sat up slightly and he grabbed a hold of her breast, squeezing them intensely. They were both enjoying the extreme high they were on, when together they once again let themselves go.

�Do you have any idea how much I love you?� A breathless Alexis asked Ned as he brushed a strand of hair off her face.

�I think you just showed me.� Ned said lovingly. �But if you�d like you can show me again.� He said as he reached up and chewed on her ear.

�You are so bad.� She teased.

�I know and I can be even worse if you�d just let me.�

Chapter 7

One week later Emily is sitting in the park watching all the different kinds of parents playing with their kids. Some are pushing their kids on the swings while others are standing close to them making sure they don�t fall, while other parents are sitting in a group taking amongst themselves not paying any attention at all. She�s been sitting there for a while crying when she saw Nikolas walking up with LuLu. Even though they hadn�t spoken much since she told him she was pregnant and needed time to think about things she still very much loved him and he told her that he�d be there for her no matter what. It was killing Nikolas just as much as it was her to keep his distance but that�s what she wanted and it thought it was the least he could do. Emily smiled as she watched him pick LuLu up and help her get onto a swing. He never noticed Emily sitting there as LuLu laughed when he pulled her back and ran under her swing before letting her go. Emily started laughing through her tears as Nikolas began teasing LuLu by running back in forth in front of her swing pretending not to get hit and making faces at her.

�What are you doing sitting over here all by yourself?�

Emily jumped. �Alexis you scared me I didn�t hear you coming.�

Alexis sat down. �That�s because you were to busy watching Nikolas and LuLu to notice anything else.� Alexis could tell she�d been crying. �Did you and Nikolas get into a fight? I haven�t seen you around the studio much this past week.�

Emily wiped her tears away and looked up at Alexis. �No, we�ve�I�ve just decided to take things a little slower that�s all.�

�Something happen?�

�You could say that.� Emily said while trying to laugh it off.

�Want to talk about it?� Alexis asked sympathetically.

The tears started flowing down Emily� eyes again. �I do��. but I can�t.�

Alexis could tell she was extremely upset and that something wasn�t right but she didn�t want to push her. � Okay, but if you ever need someone to talk to about anything I�d be more then happy to listen.�

Emily reached over and gave her a hug. �You know I�m so happy your marring my cousin. He needs someone like you in his life, and so do I.�

�It�s nice to have people like you as part of my extended family as well. You�re a good kid Emily, and I can tell just by how sad Nikolas has been this past week without you around, how much he really loves you.�

Emily smiled at her and got up. �I really must be going.�

�Remember what I said I�m here if you need me.�

�I will.�

Emily walked off and Alexis walked over to Nikolas who was catching LuLu at the bottom of the slide.

�Wow you sure went down awful fast.� Nikolas said as he picked her up and flung her around.

�Don�t drop her now.� Alexis said

�I wouldn�t dream of it.� Nikolas replied before looking at LuLu. �Want to go down it again?�

LuLu shook her head. �No I want to play in the sandbox.�

�Okay go ahead.� Nikolas said as she ran off.

�She sure does have a lot of energy.� Alexis remarked.

�That she does, sometimes it�s hard to keep up with her.� Nikolas laughed. �So what brings you out this way?�

�I�m suppose to be meeting Ned for lunch and for some strange reason he wanted to meet in the park.� Alexis replied. �He�s been acting funny ever since he started planning this wedding of ours, I never know what to expect from him anymore.�

Nikolas couldn�t help but laugh and then became serious. �Aunt Alexis can I ask you something?� he stated as he took her hand and they walked over to the bench.

�You can ask me anything� They sat. �Is it about you and Emily?�

�No actually it�s about you and Ned.�

�What about us?�

�Have you two ever discussed having children someday?�

Alexis was taken back a little by his question. �Can�t say that we have, why?�

Nikolas was becoming a little nervous at the way she was looking at him. �I don�t know I just think the two of you would make great parents that�s all.�

�Nikolas any two people can become parents but I don�t know how great I�d be at it.�

�Why not you helped take care of me?�

�Along with a house full of nannies and Stefan.� Alexis replied �I don�t know if I could handle raising a child all on my own.�

�You wouldn�t be on your own, Ned would be there.�

Alexis was really becoming uncomfortable with where this conversation was headed. �Well yea I guess that�s an advantage to being married.�

�It is isn�t it? Being married to someone who�s having your child makes all the difference in the world, doesn�t it?� Nikolas said becoming excited.

�Nikolas why the sudden interest in babies and marriage?� A really scared Alexis asked.

Nikolas jumped up and said the first thing that popped into his mind to throw Alexis off track. �I�ve noticed you getting sick a lot lately and then you go and announce the fact that you and Ned are getting married in a short amount of time.� He lends down and kisses her. �But don�t worry I won�t tell anyone your little secret. I�ve gotta go I need to take care of a few things, bye.� He added as he ran off, picked up LuLu, and quickly exited the park.

Alexis� jaw dropped and her face drew a blank as his words began to hit home. She closed her eyes and though back, suddenly opening them with even a more panicked look. �Oh please say it isn�t so.� She said out loud.

�That what isn�t so?� Ned asked as he bent down and kissed her.

Alexis couldn�t think and was totally out of it. �Um nothing�� never mind�..What do you have there?� She asked noticing a picnic basket.

�This my darling is lunch.� He replied bringing it up and placing it on his lap.

�And just where do you plan on eating it?�

Ned took her hand grabbed the picnic basket and threw the sheet he was carrying over his shoulder. �Come on I�ll show you.�

They walked over to a clearing just behind some bushes.

�It�s lovely over here.� Alexis replied as she look upon a large grassy area covered with oak trees and flowers. She looked out into the distance and noticed a small bridge lending to a gazebo on the outside of the lake.

�I never knew this was over here.� Alexis said as Ned kissed her forehead.

�That�s because you never took the time to look.� He replied as he laid the sheet down.

�Have I told you yet today how much I love you?� Alexis asked as Ned took her hand and helped her sit.

Ned sat down next to her. �No I don�t think you did.� He replied as he began taking things out of the basket and opening them. �And I never get tired of hearing it.�

Alexis lends over and places her lips lightly against his. �I love you, I love you, I love you.� She replies through tiny kisses as he wraps his arms around her and kisses her fully. They fall back onto the sheet and Alexis screams as her elbow goes into the macaroni salad.

Ned laughs as he wipes the mess from her elbow. �That�s okay I didn�t really want any of that anyway.� He sits up and she lies fully back. �Besides I think you�ll like the taste of this a lot more.� He added as he open a bottle of red wine and poured her a glass.

Alexis� mind rolled as Nikolas words came flooding back at her. She took the glass from him smiled and placed it along side of her. Ned was so busy taking in the view that he hadn�t notice she wasn�t drinking it.

�So what would you think about getting married right here?�

�What.�

�You heard me, you know I hate when you do that.�

�Do what?� She asked teasingly.

�That.� He said as he pulled her onto her feet again. �We could set up chairs here, look out into the water over here as we say I do, the minister can stand here, we can take over wedding pictures over at the gazebo.� Ned continued on till Alexis cut him off.

�Sweetheart it�s a lovely idea but don�t you think we should have thought about that before we mailed our wedding invitations?�

�Oh yea.� He sadly replied but not for long as his face lit up. �That doesn�t mean we can�t have our wedding pictures taken out here. So what do you say?�

Alexis tried not to laugh at him but couldn�t help it, there was just something about the over extended amount of enthusiasm he had built up in himself. He ran over picked her up and spun her around. �I say you�ve lost you�re mind Mr. Ashton.� She screamed.

Ned placed her back down on her feet, and placed his arm around her shoulder pulling her in tight. They just stood there and looked out into the water as the birds flew by. �No I�d say I�ve finally found it.�
