| CHAPTER 39 ~GH EMERGENCY ROOM cubical 3~ �Hey there how ya feeling?� Monica asked as she looked over Alexis� chart. �Where�s Ned?� �He�s just outside with Alan.� �He must be so worried.� Monica placed the chart on the table. �How about we concentrate on you for a minute?� �I need to see Ned, please Monica.� �As soon as we figure out what made you pass out and that you�re okay I�ll be happy to go get him.� �Monica please........� �Alexis.� She said grabbing hold of her hand. �You need to calm down; you�re babies heart rate is racing way to high.� �I can�t calm down until I see Ned. Please Monica I need Ned.� �Okay if you promise to try and calm down I will go and get him.� �I promise.� Alexis replied as Monica left the room. Alexis placed her hands on her stomach as tears began flowing freely. �Everything is going to be okay, I promise little ones.� ~Emily�s Hospital room~ �So are you and our son ready to leave this joint or what?� Nikolas asked as he walked into the room carrying a large bouquet of flowers. �They�re beautiful, and we are so ready.� Nikolas places the flowers on the table and then kisses first his son then his wife. �Then what are we waiting for let�s blow this Popsicle stand? �We�re waiting for the nurse.� �Well wait no longer Mrs. Cassidine.� A nurse said as she walked in pushing a wheel chair. �Look I even get to ride in a wheel chair.� Nikolas joked as he sat down. �Sorry Mr. Cassidine but you�ll have to walk.� The nurse replied as she helped Emily out of bed. �You even get to carry my bags.� Emily joked as she pointed to several bags in the corner. �Oh it�s so nice to be loved.� He jokingly shot back. �It is, isn�t it?� Emily said as Nikolas looked back at her. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked just sitting there holding their son. ~*~ ~GH Emergency Room~ �So what�s this about you and Alexis being husband and wife?� Alan asked as Ned paced back and forth. �If she looses those babies I don�t know what it will do to her. She was so upset when she found out she wasn�t pregnant and it was like a miracle happened when she found out she really was.� �Ned there�s no reason to think like that.� �And then to find out we we�re having twins.� Ned placed his hands over his face and gasped for air. �I was so scared I wasn�t going to be a good father to one baby let alone two.� He placed his hands on Alan�s shoulders. �Not that I�m not happy that I�m having twins it�s just am scared as hell that I won�t know how to handle it.� He started pacing again. �What if Alexis is sleeping and both the babies start crying at the same time...I mean how am I gonna handle it? Do I wake Alexis or do I let her sleep? Oh no what if they are crying because of something I did or worse yet something I didn�t do.� �Ned Ned!� Alan yelled as he grabbed a hold of him and made him stand still. �I think you�re getting ahead of yourself. I mean it�s not like you wife is in the other room giving birth.� �Oh no you�re right I almost forgot she was sick. What if she can�t give birth because something�s seriously wrong with one or both of the twins?� �Ned you�re gonna make yourself sick if you don�t stop worrying about every little thing.� �Every little thing.� Ned yelled so loud that you could hear him clear across the room. �Every little thing ...there is nothing little about my wife lying in a hospital bed losing her babies.� �Ned, Alexis didn�t lose the babies.� Monica stated as she walked up behind her. �Monica� He yelled as he hugged her tightly. �Thank goodness you�re here.� He let her go and looked directly into her eyes. �So she�s okay then and the babies are fine?� �Her stress level is extremely high and I don�t see it coming down anytime soon if she doesn�t calm down.� �Don�t worry Monica I�ll take care of her just tell me what to do.� �For starters you could calm down a little yourself.� �Calm down.� He said to himself as he sat down. �I can do that.� �Then after that you can go in and see you�re wife and reassure her that you�re not stressed out about what happened.� �What did happen, Monica?� Ned asked as he jumped up. �I thought you were suppose to be calming down?� Alan asked �Right calm ok I can do that.� �I�m not 100 percent sure, but I think it�s safe to say that Alexis passed out like she did due to her high stress level.� �So as long as she remains calm and stress free both her and the babies will be fine?� Ned asked hopefully. �Yes!� �Then I have nothing to worry about because from now until those babies are born Alexis is going to live the most stress free life I can give her. He grabbed Monica again and embraced her �Thanks Monica I love you.� Alan placed his arm around Monica as Ned ran off. �Please tell me I wasn�t that bad when you were pregnant with AJ?� Monica kissed the side of his cheek and walked off. �No sweetheart you weren�t anything like Ned.� She stopped walking and looked back at him. �You were much worse.� |
