CHAPTER 38 ~L&B STUDIO~ �Alexis Alexis are you in here!� Ned yelled as he came flying through the door. �Oh my god Alexis.� He screamed as he ran over to her lying on the ground. �Alexis sweetheart it�s me Ned can you hear me?� �Is she ok?� The officer questioned. �No damn it she�s about 7 or 8 months pregnant and she�s unconscious.� He placed her head in the core of his forearm. �Alexis Alexis!!! Don�t do this to me.� �I�ll call an ambulance.� The officer stated and then ran out to his car. �Oh please this can�t be happening.� He yelled as the tears flooded down his face upon hers. �Baby I need you so much please don�t leave me.� �An ambulance is on it�s way.� The officer yelled as he came running over to them. Ned ran his fingers through her hair as he laid his lips against her forehead. �Why is this happening?� He noticed the bruises on her arm. �What happened to you Alexis who did this to you.� He picked up her arm lightly and kissed it softly. �I swear I�m gonna find out who hurt you and I will make them pay.� ~*~ ~ EMILY�S ROOM ~ �Emily what is it what happened?� Nikolas asked as he came running into the room. �I could hear you all the way down the .......� His words fall short as he saw her lying there on the floor. �My baby he took my baby.� She repeated over and over again. Nikolas ran over to her and tried to pick her up off the ground. �Emily it�s ok the baby�s fine. I just left him a few minutes ago.� �His words didn�t sink in as she chanted again. �My baby he took my baby. I want my baby back , please bring me back my baby.� �I�ll get the baby.� Nikolas yelled. �Just let me help you back into bed.� She grabbed a hold of his tie and pulled on it really tight. �No! It�ll be to late by then bring me back my baby.� �Emily sweetie I love you.� He tried his hardest to grab the tie away from her. �But you�re chocking me.� �What is going on in here?� A nurse asked as she walked in. �She thinks somebody took her baby.� He replied the best he could while Emily still had hold of his tie. �My baby he took my baby.� �Please get us our baby!� Nikolas finally spit out as he loosened Emily�s grip. The nurse became panicked as she stormed out the down and ran down the hall to the nursery. �It�s okay baby the nurses is going to get our son.� He grabbed her head and laid it against his chest as her words became mute. �It�s okay, I�m here and everything going to be fine I promise you.� Her mouth continued to move as the words �My baby he took my baby.� silently filled the room. ~*~ ~ GENERAL HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM ~ �You hold on there baby you�re gonna be okay, everything�s gonna be fine.� Ned stated holding Alexis�s hand in his as they came flying through the ER doors. �Ned what happened?� Bobby asked as she ran over to them. �What�s her vital sign?� Monica asked the paramedics. �Ned you have to let us do our job now.� Bobbie replied as Monica and the paramedics yelled things that made no sense to Ned back and forth. �The babies please don�t let her lose the babies.� Ned yelled as he held Alexis� hand tight. �Ned you have to let her go.� �Ned listen to me.� Monica yelled as Bobbie�s attempts failed. �I can�t help her unless you let me.� �I can�t leave her Monica.� He stated as the tears broke her heart. �I need you to trust me Ned.� �I do trust you, more then you know.� �Then let her go and let me take care of her.� Ned slowly let go off her hand. �Don�t let her or the babies .......� His heart broke deeper then he ever knew possible as he couldn�t speak the word. �That�s not going to happen you hear me.� Monica yelled. �Get her in room 3 STAT and call doctor Newman. �Dr Newman�s out of town, Dr Rush is on call.� Amy yelled from behind the desk. �No that won�t do!� Ned hollered. �Monica she trust Dr. Newman, I trust Dr. Newman, we know her and we need her.� �Alan thank goodness you�re here.� Monica stated as she saw him step off the elevator. �What�s going on?� He asked as he looked at Ned. �Alexis was just brought in.� She replied. �Take care of Ned so I can go check on her.� �Monica don�t leave her please.� Ned pleaded. �I�m not going to leave her, and you need to trust me when I tell you Dr. Rush is an excellent doctor.� �Dr. Quatermaine come quick she�s awake.� Another doctor yelled from just outside her room. Ned and Monica both ran that way but Alan stopped him. �Let Monica check on her first.� �I need to be with Alexis, she�s my wife and I need her.� �I know it�s hard but you just have to........� He stopped mid sentence �Did you say wife?� �What made her pass out like that?� Ned asked �I don�t know but I�m sure Monica will let you know as soon as possible.� He placed his arm around Ned�s neck. �Come on let�s go sit down and I�ll get you a cup of coffee.� �No I can�t leave her.� �We�re only going over there.� Alan remarked as he pointed to some close by chairs. ~ EMILY�S ROOM ~ Nikolas and Emily are still sitting on the floor in a solemn state as the Nurse walks back into the room carrying their baby. �Here�s your baby Mrs. Cassidine. Health as ever.� �My baby!� Emily yelled as Nikolas helped her onto her feet. Emily held out her hands for the nurse to give him to her. �Why don�t you get back into bed first honey?� Nikolas pleaded. �Then the nurse can give you our son.� Emily with Nikolas� help got back into bed. Once again she held her arms out but this time the nurse placed her son in them. �I love you so much and I�m so sorry mommy wasn�t here for you.� Nikolas nodded his head at the nurse and she left the room. Emily continued to talk to the baby. �Emily honey you kept saying he took the baby, who is he?� �I�m so glad you�re ok, I don�t know what I�d do without you.� �Honey who is he?� Nikolas asked again. Emily looked up at Nikolas like nothing ever happened. �We need to give him a name.� �And we will.� Nikolas replied �But first you have to tell me who he is.� �He?� Emily asked questionably. �You kept saying he took the baby, who is he?� �Nobody took our baby Nikolas he�s right here what are you talking about.� �When I walked into the room you were on the floor crying and screaming.� �Yes mommy loves you.� She giggled to the baby. �Oh that I had a bad dream is all.� �More like a nightmare.� He quietly said. �What�d ya say?� �I said I�m glad it was only a dream.� �Oh!� She replied not taking her eyes off her son. �So what should we call him? I for one still like Lucas Alexander Cassidine.� �It�s fine I guess as long as we can him Alex, but I�d still like to know who took the baby in your dream.� �Fine then Lucas Alexander it is.� She kissed the top of his head before looking up at Nikolas for the first time. �I don�t remember just some guy walked in told me I have a beautiful son and then he took him.� Nikolas held both Emily and Alex close. �Don�t worry sweetie as long as I�m here nobody is going to take our son from us.� |
