CHAPTER 33 �Nikolas� Ned and Alexis both shouted as they watched him fall. Alexis quickly ran over to Ned who grabbed instantly before she fell as well. �Nikolas can you hear me?� Alexis yelled as Ned held her back from the edge. Nikolas just laid there for a second motionless before catching his breathing and yelling back. �Yea I think so.� He rolled over on to his back and grabbed his left shoulder. �My arm broke my fall!� �You�re lucky that�s all you broke.� Ned hollered back down to him. �What�s going on up there!� Lucky yelled from inside the elevator car. �Nikolas is that you?� �Ya it�s me I�m coming down.� He yelled back as he removed the paneling and jumped down. �Nikolas!� Emily screamed as the tears ran down her face. �Get me out of here please� Nikolas ran over to and held her hand. �How far apart are the contractions?� �They�re coming way to fast!� Lucky said. �That baby of yours wants out now.� �I think he�s coming!� Emily yelled �No!� Nikolas yelled �Push as hard as you can and count to ten!� Lucky yelled as well. �What are you going to do?� A terrified Nikolas asked. �I�m gonna catch him unless you�ve got a better idea.� Lucky stated more then asked. �awwwwww� Emily yelled as she pushed. �I can see his head.� Lucky said. �Yes a little more and he�ll be out.� �I can�t do it.� Emily yelled as she somewhat sat back. �Okay just take a break and breath.� Nikolas said as he wiped the sweat from her forehead. �You�ll try again on the next one.� �Nikolas I don�t think I can.� Emily cried. �Yes you can Emily.� He lovingly stated. �One more time and it should be over.� As the words barely came out of his mouth Emily screamed as another strong contraction ran through her body. �PUSH!� Lucky yelled Nikolas held her body as close to an upright position as he could as Emily found the strength she didn�t even know she had and pushed the baby out. Lucky grabbed the baby and a panicked look came over his face. �What�s the matter?� Nikolas yelled back to him. �He�s not breathing.� �Well do something!� Nikolas yelled back. Lucky gently took his finger and wiped the stuff from the outside of the baby�s mouth and then took his finger and slid it inside. The baby gasped a small hiccup like breath and then began to cry. �Is it a boy or a girl?� Emily yelled as the elevator shifted and began to move. �It�s a boy!� Lucky stated as he began to cry. ~*~ ~ Mercy Hospital in NYC ~ Ned Alexis Nikolas and Lucky all sat in the waiting area while the doctors examined both Emily and the baby. Lucky placed his hand on his brother�s shoulder. �By the way congratulations.� �Yea how does it feel to be a father?� Alexis asked as she laid comfortable against Ned. �I still can�t believe I am one.� Nikolas replied back. �I can�t believe how small my son is.� �Would you like to see him?� A doctor asked as he walked over to the group. �How is he?� Alexis asked �Well his small but considering he�s about a month early doing remarkably well.� �How�s Emily?� Ned asked �Extremely tried.� The doctor joked �You said I could see my son.� Nikolas stated �Why don�t we go get him and take him to his mother?� �Go ahead will be right here when you get out.� Ned replied. �Make sure you send her our love.� Alexis added Nikolas ran over and gave Alexis a hug before turning around and walking off with the doctor. �Well if you to excuse me I think I�m gonna go call my mother and tell her the good news.� Lucky said before walking off in the opposite direction. �You okay?� Ned asked as he ran his finger through her hair. �Yea I�m fine but I don�t think I�ll be going inside any elevator until after the twins are born.� She joked back as she placed her hand on her stomach and looked down. �Well at least not without me.� He joked back as he held her tight. �As a matter of fact after what happened today I don�t think I'm gonna let you out of my sight.� Alexis turned her face to look at his. �Somehow I knew that.� Ned laughed at her as he bent down and kissed the top of her forehead. ~*~ �Hey can we come in.� Nikolas asked as he walked through the door holding his son. Emily just looked up at them and smiled brightly as the tears screamed down her face. She didn�t say a word as Nikolas walked over to her and for the first time placed their son in her arms. �He looks just like his mother.� Nikolas quietly said as he crawled into bed next to them. �I think he�s going to grow up to look just like his daddy.� Emily replied back. �So what are we going to name the little guy?� Emily looked up at him and laughed. �I don�t know we never really talked much about names let alone boy�s names.� �Well what kinda names do you like?� Emily looked down at her sleeping son. �I don�t know.� �Should we name him after your side of the family or my side of the family?� Nikolas asked. �Or after neither side?� �Who would you name him after on your side?� �I don�t know.� Nikolas said. �I guess the only person would be Alexis.� �Alex isn�t a bad name.� Emily replied back. �Alex Cassidine.� Nikolas said. �It�s not bad, but what about your side.� �My side?� Emily questioned. �Ya who would you name him after your side of the family.� �Well if he was a she.� Emily stated. �I�d name her after my mother Paige but since he�s not. I don�t know.� �There isn�t anyone in your family you�d name him after?� �I�ve got it how about Lucas Alexander.� Emily said. �You want me to name my kid after Luke?� A disgusted Nikolas yelled out. �No silly after your brother.� Emily laughed back. �You know the person who was in the elevator with us who caught our son as he made his way into this cruel world.� �I don�t know Em I mean as much as I love my brother he does share his name with his father.� �Well we can�t really call him Lucky Alexander.� �What about Alexander Lucky?� Nikolas asked. �Oh yea that sounds good.� Emily sarcastically replied. �What do you think of Lorenzo Alexander Cassidine?� She asked as he gave her a strange look. �And before you say anything we can called him Alex after your aunt.� �The name does have a nice ring to it.� Nikolas replied back. �What do you say we think about it and if we can�t come up with anything that we like better then we�ll go with it.� �Okay.� Emily said as she smiled between her husband and son. �But I like the name and so does Alex. Don�t you Alex?� Nikolas just shook his head and looked down at the little life both he and Emily created. |
