| . Prologue: Ned Ashton sat along the docks and stared out at the water. His life was perfect or at least it should be. He had everything he ever wanted. A loving faithful wife, two wonderful children, and a successful business. His daughter Kristin Lila is 5 years old and looks just like her Mother. Thomas Edward is a 2-year-old boy with his fathers shinning dimples. Then of course there was Brooke his 11-year-old daughter who is growing up right before his eyes. Ned just sat there and tried to understand how one night, one insignificant fight could have almost cost him everything he holds dear. ****Flashback**** Ned was sitting at the bar getting drunker by the minute. He had just gotten into another huge fight with Alexis over her working for Sonny Corinthos. He hated Sonny with a passion and more importantly he didnt like the idea of his wife working so many late nights with him. He trusted her completely but Sonny he wouldnt put anything past him, and tonight he let Alexis know just how he felt. Ned was deep into his own thoughts when Julia walked up behind him and whispered into his ear "hey stranger, mind if I join you"? Ned just nodded and she sat. They spent most of the evening drinking and talking about everything but the kitchen sink. After a little time went by Julia who had been flirting with him the entire evening handed him her room key and then left. Ned sat there a minute and looked at the key before finishing his drink and heading upstairs. Julia opened the door to her suite wearing nothing but a short robe and a smile; she eagerly let him in. As she closed the door behind her Ned pulled her into a deep kiss. Quickly their clothes were discarded all over the room and before long she was pushing him back onto her bed, but before any serious damage could be done Ned had fallen asleep. ****End Flashback*** Alexis Davis Ashton attorney at law, the outside of her office door read, as she looked up and noticed it. She couldnt believe how her life had turned out. Why wasnt she happy, when did everything go so wrong? She had it all. A thriving business, a almost faithful husband and two wonderful children. "A almost faithful husband" she said out loud. Was that it she thought to herself, could that be whats making her skin crawl? The fact that Julia made it a point to tell Alexis what almost happened between her and Ned just three months ago. But how could she confront Ned on it when she herself almost did the same thing with Jasper Jax a little more then five years ago. She loved Ned dearly but missed her best friend Jax. He always knew how to make her smile, even on the saddest days. He was always there for her, someone she could always talk to and would understand. She missed him dearly but at the same token was so mad at him for just up and leaving without fair warning. She had a very difficult time trying to figure out a way to make Ned understand why he left. She did however manage to come up with some lame excuse but shes not quit sure if Ned actually believed her. He always did tell her how bad of a liar she was and maybe thats way he never asked the one question she always dreaded one day he would. Jasper Jax sat along the shore, it was always his favorite place to be. He thought about how life has treated him since hes left Port Charles. He wasnt happy being away from his friends and loved ones. He just couldnt get Alexis Ashton out of his mind. He was still in love with her and no matter what he did nothing was ever going to change that. He knew that her life was just where she wanted it, and returning to town now would only complicate things. He pondered his thoughts a while before deciding to once and for all take action and go home, telling his best friend he loved her. |
