Chapter 25 �Alexis are you ready to go yet or what?� Ned hollered from the bottom of the stairs. �If we don�t leave now we might as well not go at all.� �Works for me!� She hollered back from her bedroom. �Nice try lady but we�re still going.� �Alright I�m coming.� She hollered as she walked down the stairs. �Wow.� Ned replied. �You look absolutely amazing.� �Why thank you.� She replied once she made her way down the stairs and into his arms. �You don�t look half bad yourself.� Ned just stood there breathless, as he couldn�t get over how beautiful his wife looked in a sleek black dressed that fit her every curve. From just the right amount of cleavage to the spaghetti straps right down to the slit that ran up the one side of her leg, she was to say the least amazingly gorgeous. �So when did you decide to go out and buy a new Tux?� Alexis asked as she took another look at him in his black tuxedo. �When you told me you were going to buy a new dress.� �Well then I guess we�ll be the best dressed couple there.� �You my darling wife always are.� He replied as he kissed the back of her hand. �Shall we go?� Alexis pouted slightly and looked down. �I guess it didn�t work then.� �What�s that?� Ned asked as he placed his finger under her chin and picked her head up. �I was hoping you�d take one look at me in my new dress and the only thought you�d have from there on out was how to get it off of me and upstairs as quick as possible.� Ned couldn�t help but laugh. �Sorry but I guess your plan backfired because the only thing I had running through my mind, was how to get to the party as soon as possible so I could show you off.� �Men.� She stated as Ned cracked up laughing and she pouted her way out the door. �Oh come on Alexis trust me tonight will be fun.� He yelled as he followed her out the door. �Fun for whom?� she asked as she got into the car. �Think about it this way in less then two hours it will be a whole New Year filled with new adventures.� He said getting into the driver�s seat. �Oh boy I can hardly wait.� She said dryly as she threw her head back against the seat. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- �Emily I can�t believe we have to be here tonight. Tell me again why we couldn�t of just stayed home?� Lucky asked as he escorted his wife into the Port Charles Grill. �Oh come on Lucky it�s New Years Eve and besides all our family and friend are going to be here.� She states as she looks around the room. �Look there�s Nikolas and Liz over there, and oh look your Aunt Bobby and Roy are over there, and there�s Dr Jones and some women dancing on the floor�...� �Oh yea and your families over there.� Lucky said sarcastically as he cut her off. �Why don�t we go over and say hello?� �Ah decided to live dangerously this year, well good for you.� Ned said as he slapped Lucky on the back. �Alexis you look awesome.� Emily replied as she gave her a hug. �Thank you and you look wonderful yourself.� �Yea not bad for someone who�s going to be blowing up like a balloon soon.� Ned added as he gave her a hug. �What�s that suppose to mean?� Lucky asked as Emily� face lost all color. �Em I�m sorry I thought you would have told him by now.� Ned stated suddenly very uncomfortable. �Look Ned there�s Monica why don�t we go say hello.� Alexis stated as she pulled him across the room. Emily just watched them leave as Lucky once again asked. �What was he talking about.� �Okay Lucky there�s no easy way to say this and I know I should have told you on Christmas like I planned to��.but things got so out of hand and I didn�t want you to feel sorry for me or..� Lucky grabbed her hands. �Emily you�re babbling just tell me what it is.� �I�m pregnant.� She blurted quickly and then closed her eyes. It was like the room suddenly became completely quite and they were the only two people alive. Emily opened her eyes as Lucky picked her up and spun her around in circles yelling. �We�re going to have a baby! We�re going to have a baby!� �What?� Edward yelled across the room. �You heard me old man we�re going to have a baby.� Lucky shouted once again before crashing his lips upon Emily� and everyone clapped. �You mean you�re not mad?� Em asked in total shock. �Of course I�m not mad, why on earth would I be mad.� �Because when we watched Kris and Tommy for the weekend you said you weren�t ready to have kids.� �Well ready or not darling we�re having them.� Lucky yelled before he kissed her again. �Congratulations Emily.� Monica stated proudly as she hugged her daughter. �You�re going to make wonderful parents.� Alan added as he congratulated them. �Oh my god Emily this is such great news. I�m going to be a grandmother.� Laura exclaimed as she hugged her daughter in-law. �Well I�m proud of ya cowboy, way to go.� Luke stated as he hugged his son. �Way to go bro.� Nikolas yelled across the room. �Emily why didn�t you tell me?� Liz asked as she hugged her. �We are still best friends and I�m so happy for you.� �I wanted Lucky to be the first to know.� Em stated as she looked over at Ned and Alexis. �Well as close to it as possible.� �Id say this calls for a toast.� Ned stated as he raised a glass. �To Lucky and Emily may they always be blessed with the love of their children.� �To Lucky and Emily.� Everyone shouted as they raised their glasses. �Congratulations Emily.� Alexis said as Ned leaned over and kissed her. �Are you glad I made you come now?� Ned asked Alexis as he looked over at how happy Emily was. �Yea tonight isn�t going to be as bad as I thought it would be.� Alexis said smiling at her loving husband. �So when�s this baby of yours due anyway?� Nik asked. �I have a better question to ask. Are you sure you�re the father Lucky?� Tracy yelled as she walked over towards Ned. �You never know in this family.� �That�s a cruel thing to insinuate, even for you Tracy.� Monica yelled. �Yes Lucky� the father of my baby.� Emily shot back, nearly in tears. �Haven�t you caused enough problems already Tracy.� Lucky yelled as he held his wife tight. �Oh come on, look at Ned and Alexis here.� Tracy stated. �What about us?� Alexis questioned �Mother give it a rest already will you.� �Well you two have two children but only one is my son�s.� Tracy stated loudly as she hit Ned in the chest with the file she took from Alexis� office. �I knew it she�s been sleeping with that Australian all along.� Edward bellowed. �Shut up Edward.� Monica stated firmly. �We�ve already heard to much out of you already.� �Jax and I are not sleeping together Edward and Ned and I have two children together Tracy, not one.� Alexis yelled as Ned looked over the file. �Well according to this Alexis Kristin isn�t my child she�s Jax�.� Ned stated as cold as possible. �What?� Alexis asked in completely utter disbelief. �Kristin is yours and I don�t care what any blood test says. Give me that.� She added as she pulled the file out of Ned� hand. �You lied to me.� Ned shouted as he grabbed Alexis� arms and shook her. Five �Let go of my Aunt.� Nikolas hollered as he walked over to them. �Ned there has to be a mistake. Kristin is YOURS!� Alexis stated as tears began to form in her eyes. Four �Yea there�s been a mistake alright, and I made it.� He said as he dropped her arms. �The biggest mistake of all marring a good for nothing Cassidine, you make me sick!� Three �Ned please you have to believe me Kristin is yours.� She pleaded as she grabbed his waist, sunk down to her knees and began to lose it. Two �Get off of me.� He hollered as he pushed her away and she fell backwards. �I don�t EVER want to see the likes of you again.� One �Happy New Year� Tracy shouted as everyone else just stood there silently. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- �Ned wait!� Monica yelled as she ran after him. �Monica I don�t want to talk about this right now.� Ned said as the tears ran down his face. �Alexis loves you Ned and you know it.� �I know Monica she loves me so much that she slept with Jax and passed his kid off as mine.� Ned shouted at her. �Ned do not do this walking away isn�t going to solve anything. You need to go back in there and find Alexis and talk to her.� Monica insisted. �The only thing I want to do now Monica is get as far away from her as possible.� He stated as he put his hands over his face and screamed. �How do you want me to talk to her when I can�t even bare to look at her.� �Ned what if the lab made a mistake. Are you willing to lose everything over a stupid mistake?� �Damn it Monica I can�t do this now. The only thing I can see is the facts right in front of me. My wife whom I trusted with my the deepest part of my soul, slept with another man lie to me about it for months heck years and had his, HIS Monica not mine his child!� Ned yelled as loud as he could, coming to the shocking conclusion that his whole marriage was nothing but one big lie after another. �You know Ned I feel sorry for you because that�s all you can see. You can�t look past it and see the love or the fact that maybe there was a clinical era.� Monica yelled back. �Heck did you ever stop and ask yourself what Tracy was doing with those results in the first place or maybe just maybe she might have tampered with them.� Ned was so lose in his feelings of hurt and betrayal that he didn�t even hear the words coming out of Monica� mouth. �I�m sorry Monica really but I just need to be by myself.� He shouted once more before getting into his car and pealing out of the parking garage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PC Hotel Room 709 �Are you feeling any better?� Nikolas asked Alexis as he handed her a glass of water. �Thank you Nikolas for taking such good care of me and worrying about me like this but I�ll be just fine. It�s the New Year go celebrate have fun.� �You�re my Aunt I love you and I�m not going anywhere.� �Why is this happening Nikolas?� Alexis asked through her uncontrollable tears. �Shhhh everything is going to work out, you just wait and see. Ned will calm down and realize that the test results had to be a mistake.� Nikolas said trying to comfort her as he held her tight. �Nikolas you do believe me when I tell you Ned is Kristin� father.� �Of course I do. I know you�d never lie to me.� �Alexis I know you�re in there please let me in.� Jax yelled as he knocked on the door. Alexis sat up straight as she heard Jax� voice. �Do you want me to get rid of him?� Alexis wiped her face and took a deep breath. �You say the word and he�s history.� �Alexis please let me in� Jax stated quietly as he leaned his head against the door. �I just need to know that you�re okay.� Alexis stood up slowly and walked over to the door. She leaned her forehead against it and spoke quietly. �Jax� I�m fine, Nikolas is with me and I really don�t want anyone else to see me like this.� �Hey I�m your ex-husband, I�ve seen you look worse then this. Remember the Sahara.� �I�ll call you Jax I promise.� �Alexis you�re my best friend and I want to help you, please let me in.� They both stood on either side of the door with their foreheads pressed against it and their eyes closed tight. Alexis slowly reached down for the doorknob and opened it. He stood there and looked at her a few minutes before she began to cry again and fall into his arms. He closed the door behind them and sat down with her on the couch. �It�s going to be okay Alexis, it�s going to be okay.� Was all Jax could mange to say as he held her tight and listened to her cry. Nikolas looked over at Jax and he nodded to him. �Alexis I�m going to go but if you need anything you call me okay?� �I will Nikolas and thank you again for everything.� �Promise me you won�t leave her until she falls asleep.� �Don�t worry just go I�ll take care of her.� Jax stated as Nikolas kissed Alexis� forehead and left. �You tell me what you need and I�ll get it for you.� �The only thing I need right now is Jasper Jax my best friend and ex-husband, not Jasper Jax the man who walked back into my life and told me he�d do anything to win me away from Ned.� �You got it.� He stated as he pulled her against him and rubbed her back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- �Are you okay?� Lucky asked Emily as they walked through the front door of their house. �I just can�t believe Aunt Tracy used our good news to destroyed Ned and Alexis like that.� Emily stated as she sat down on the couch. Lucky walked over to her and sat down. �Emily what happened tonight wasn�t your fault.� �Lucky you do know this baby is ours right?� �Yes I know this baby is ours, yours and mine just as much as Ned knows Kristin is really his.� �Do you really think Ned will come around?� �Em Ned loves Kristin I�ve seen him with her and there is no way he is going to let a blood test stand between him being a father to that little girl.� �What if it turns out that the blood test wasn�t tampered with and Jax really is Kristin� father?� �Do you honestly think Alexis would lie about something as important as who the father of her child is, especially after before called on it?� �No I don�t. Kristin is Ned and Alexis� daughter and your right he will come around.� Em stated as she leaned her head against his chest. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can�t remember when you weren�t there When I didn�t care for anyone but you. & I swear we�ve been through everything there is can�t imagine anything we�ve missed can�t imagine anything the two of us can�t do. Alexis walked into the house and up the stairs. She stopped just outside Kristin�s room and stared at her before walking in and kissing her goodnight. The tears slowly fell down her face as she walked in Tommy� room and peeked in on him. Through the years you never let me down You turned my life around The sweetest days I found I found with you. Through the years I�ve never been afraid I love the life we made & I�m so glad I stayed right here with you through the years. Ned walked into the house and up the stairs. He looked in on Kristin as his tears fell on her blanket one by one. He sat down next to her and laid his head on her bed. I can�t remember what I use to do Who I trust in who I listen to before I swear you thought me everything I know Can�t imagine needing some one so Through the years it seems to me I need you more and more Alexis sat on the windowsill in her bedroom staring out at the emptiness the night air seemed to have brought. He cries deepen as she clings to a photo of her, Ned and the kids. Through the years through all the good and bad I know how much we had I�ve always been so glad to be with you Through the years it�s better everyday You�ve kissed my tears away As long as it�s okay I�ll stay with you through the years. Ned walked over to their bedroom door and watched as Alexis sat there and cried her heart out. He wanted to reach out and touch her but something was holding him back. He leaned his head against the door and he could have sworn time stood still as his family and life were slowly fading away. Through the years when everything went wrong Together we were strong Ned brought his hand up to his face and blew Alexis a kiss before turning around and walking out. I know that I belong Right here with you Through the years I�ve never had a doubt Alexis just continued to stare out into space as she thought back about how her life has been nothing but one cruel joke after another. We�d always work things out I�ve learned what life�s about �I hope you know I love you Ned Ashton, where ever you are.� She stated quitely to herself before lying down on her pillow and closing her eyes.
