Chapter 3 Ned got to the penthouse around eleven o'clock. Alexis was still sitting up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and briefs infront of her. "Hey." She said when she heard the door open. "How is Lois? Is everything all right with her and Brooke?" Ned just stood there looking at the scene infront of him. He loved Alexis and didn't want to upset her by telling her what had happened at the Gatehouse. He decided he was going to tell her in the morning when everything was more clear. "I don't want to talk about it right now, if you don't mind. Let's just go to bed. I want to hold you all night long." "Okay." Alexis said walking over to him with concern all over her face. "If that is what you want." At that they headed up the stairs to bed. The next morning Alexis was up early and already had coffee made when Ned woke up. "Good morning honey." Alexis said handing Ned a cup of coffee as he walked into the living room. "Thanks" He said taking the cup and giving her a kiss. They sat in silence for a few minutes when Alexis finally broke the silence. "Ned what happened last night with Lois?" Alexis ventured. She could see Ned tense the moment she mentioned the previous night. "Umm.......Lois is back in town because things were getting tough in Brooklyn. She needed a break." "Oh." Alexis said relaxing a little. "That's not all." Ned said continuing. "She wants to get back together with me. She want us to be a family so we cam help each other through rough times and things like that." He stopped and looked over at Alexis who was looking deep into her coffee. "Alexis?" She looked up. "What did you say?" Alexis asked with worry in her voice. Ned moved closer to her and took her hands. "I left. I thing she was just too upset or drunk or something. I don't think she was thinking clearly. I am going to go back to the Gatehouse today and I want you to go with me." Alexis looked over at Ned. "What if she was thinking clearly? Then what?" "Alexis I love you and nothing, nothing is going to change that. Even if Lois wants to get back together. We are going to get married and that is what I want." "Are you sure?" Alexis asked. "Yes." Ned said before kissing Alexis passionately. "Will you go with me today?" "Yeah." Alexis answered. "Good. I will go get dressed and we will go." Ned said giving Alexis one last quick kiss and then going upstairs. Alexis stayed on the couch and watched Ned go. "I hope you mean what you say Ned." Alexis whispered. |
