Chapter 1

As Ned sat at the bar of the Port Charles Grill,
waiting for Alexis, he was thinking of everything that
had been happening in his life. Finally after months
of touring as Eddie Maine, L&B was taking off. He and
Alexis were engaged and happier than ever. Everything
was going great. All of a sudden he felt a tap on his
shoulder. He turned around too see Alexis standing
behind him with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey sweetheart." He said kissing her on the cheek.
As they sat down at a nearby table Alexis said, "Hi.
Sorry I was late. The jury took longer than expected."

"That's all right. Did you win?" Ned asked as he
poured them both a glass of wine.
Smiling Alexis said "Yep. It was a little shaky for a
while, but we pulled it off." All of a sudden they
were interrupted by a call phone ringing. Alexis went
to answer it, but was shocked to see it wasn't hers
ringing. "Looks like it is you this time honey." She
said smiling at Ned.

Ned smiled back at her as he reached into his pocket
and answered his phone. "Hello. Ned Ashton. Lois?
Where are you? Port Charles?" Alexis looked up from
her plate to see what was going on as Ned continued
talking to his ex-wife. "What? Right now? Hang on." He
put his hand over the phone as he looked over at
Alexis. "It's Lois she is in town and she says she
needs to see me."

"Go Ned. There must be something going on. Go find
out, I will be fine. I have some work to do anyway."
"Are you sure?" Ned asked looking at Alexis with
concern.

"Yeah." Alexis said pushing a smile.
Ned liped a thank you and then got back on the phone.
"Lois? Yeah I will be there in like ten minutes. Okay
bye." He turned his phone off and looked up again with
a concerned look on his face. "Something is up. Alexis
are you sure you are all right with this?"

"Yep. Now go before I change my mind." She
said smiling over at Ned. He got up from the table and
put on his coat. Before he left he gave Alexis a kiss.

"I love you sweetheart."
"I love you too." With that Ned left the restaurant
and Alexis was left to her dinner.
