| Latest Message | The Palio in Siena was an amazing spectacle. Our camera broke just as we were taking 'that' picture of the leaning tower. Is now in the hands of French Fuji technicians. Wandered through the cinque terre, 5 small villages along the italian coast, which were very cute. The French Riveria was not as good as we expected, pretty ordinary really. Roz did like Monaco though because of the great sculpture garden by the Casino. Nick didn't like Monaco because he only saw 1 Ferrari. Arrived in Avignon during their annual theatre festival. Lucky for us there were lots of street performances that didn't speak French or at all. Been in Barcelona for a couple of days and heading down to Valencia tomorrow. | ||

25th June, Italy Slovenia was really cute, and Ljubljana is a great little city. Fantastic buildings, public bus service and ice-cream. Went to a cave system and saw a human fish, and a picturesque castle by a lake. Arrived in Venice to torrential rain, like they need more water. Stunning place with a very good local Rasta band. Caught up with Rachel in Florence, she's having a good time. Saw an impressive fireworks display in honour of the local Saint, Giovanni. Next stop Rome. |

15th June, Croatia The Pelopennese in Greece was a lot of fun. Saw lots of ancient stuff, and did some camping. Took overnight ferry to south Italy, where we camped for 3 days visiting Isle of Capri (blue grotto) and Pompeii (dead people). Another overnight ferry to Croatia. Stayed in Dubrovnik, which was nice, and the people were friendly. Except when I used the Serbian word for Hello ( the lonely planet phrasebook had it wrong). Went windsurfing today. |
