PROJECT PROFILE
The Population Growth Project is a data project in which students search the web for the data needed to compare population and ethnic make-up of various states and cities. The students will collect the data and create bar and circle graphs from their data.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this project, each student will be able to:
1) Collect data from one state and four cities.
2) Data needed will be to compare population of the state to each city.
3) On paper, create a Bar graph and a Circle graph of this information.
4) Using excel, create a Bar graph and a Circle graph of this information.

SUNSHINE STATE STANDARDS
The student understands and uses the tools of data analysis for managing information.
MA.E.1.4.1 - interprets data that has been collected, organized and displayed in charts, tables, and plots.
MA.E.1.4.2 - calculates measure of central tendency(mean, median, and mode).
MA.E.1.4.3 - analyzes real-world data and makes predictions of populations by applying formulas to calculate measures of central tendency and dispersion using the sample population data and using appropriate technology, including calculators and computers.
