May 7-9 - Bring on the Bronzebacks!
The first part of the weekend was a bit slow, but Sunday morning was jackpot city in the middle of Valley City as nearly 25 smallies came to boat in just four hours. All of these great fish pictured were caught and released back into the flow of the Sheyenne. Remember, catch and release those smallies, not only now in the prespawn but throughout the season to preserve the opportunities for the future!

Simonsons and Smallmouth Bass - A Great Combination Top Left - Dad gets a nice smallie measuring about 16 inches. Bottom Left - Ben with a 16-inch bronzeback worked off of the shallows of a creekbed. Top Right - Yours Truly with a 17-inch momma that hit like a semi near the Mill Dam in Valley City.

Top Left - Dad hooks and lands another nice bass giving him two over 15 inches in the first five minutes of his day. Top Right - It must have been a nice fish if this 22-inch walleye could get a white flash from under the shade of Holmes' hat. Bottom Left - Me with my first C&R whopper club smallie of the year, a wily 16-incher.
