May 17-25:  All Eyes Turn To The Sheyenne
The bite was on despite cold windy weather!  As a couple of holes on the Sheyenne opened up to some of the biggest walleyes I have ever seen break the surface of the stream.  The action was fast as two buddies armed with jigs and minnows crossed 'eyes to the left and right.  Including releasing three catch and release whopper club walleyes over 25 inches in length.  Check it out!
Top Left & Middle Left - Oooooh it's that double vision! Holmes and I land the same 26-inch walleye just 40 minutes apart.  Apparently she was hungry, as a Northland Gypsi Jig didn't deter her from sucking in my Fuz-E-Grub just a short time later.  She hit so hard after being released, I nearly lost my fishing pole!
Top Right - Holmes with the largest walleye I have ever seen on the Sheyenne, a lanky 28-inch post-spawn female.  The monster took three tries to land, but when all was said and done, Holmes was regretting he already had one hawg at the taxidermist.  Thus, she was released.
Bottom Left - Yours truly with a 24-inch walleye that came during a break in the clouds when the sun even caught a glimpse of some of the great fishing on the Sheyenne River.
Top Left - A 21-inch eye released after photo.  Top Right - Me taking a breather to admire a 24-inch eye on a fast day of fishing.  Bottom Left - What the..!?!  Oh yeah, that's a fat 17-inch smallie.  Bottom Right - Mmmm...looks like dinner!
