MISSION
The New Jersey Public Health Planning Association is a non-profit organization providing a forum to enable governmental public health and community health professionals to discuss planning techniques and strategies directly relating to the new  "Public Health Practice Standards for Local Health Agencies in New Jersey," the Healthy People 2010 Health Indicators, and Healthy New Jersey 2010.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
To foster and increase knowledge of and proficiency in conducting ongoing community health assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
To share local experiences regarding the completion of community health assessments, reports, and plans in accordance with the "Public Health Practice Standards for Local Health Agencies in New Jersey."
To exchange New Jersey (municipal, county, state) and national health data statistics with regard to the Healthy People 2010 Health Indicators and Healthy New Jersey 2010.
To share experiences with regard to best models in an effort to enhance the available public health planning tools.
To foster knowledge of a community-wide planning process, and coalition building within local public health systems.
To have an on-line discussion group to facilitate idea sharing and problem solving regarding public health in New Jersey.
MEMBERS
New Jersey Public Health Planning Association members include New Jersey governmental or community public health agency professionals, persons or institutions involved in community health planning, and others who supports the goal, purpose, and objectives of the Association.  Members may include public health planners, public health nurses, health educators, health officers, public health consultants, and other public health professionals involved in the role of planning at county, local, and state governmental public health or community health agencies.
