I didn’t
hear you leave, I wonder how am I still here
The taxi was speeding towards JFK. Angel had Buffy in his arms, attempting to
comfort her.
Angel, you seem different,” Buffy said putting her
hand on his cheek.
“No, sweetheart, I’m not different, I’m the same
old Angel you knew,” Angel told her.
“Angel, where are we going?” Buffy asked,
adjusting herself on his lap.
“We’re going to
“Are we ever coming back?” Buffy asked
“That, I don’t know Buffy, that I don’t know,”
Angel sighed.
“Sooner or later we’ll have to,” Buffy said,
regaining her full sense of self, “We can’t just run. We have to fight someday, but right now I
think we need a break.”
“And we’re going to have one,” Angel ran his
fingers through her hair.

“Let them go have a ball. That’s great for them,” Spike still was being
sarcastic.
“Spike, what if Dru were here right now? And she saw you acting like this?” Joyce snapped.
“THEN I WOULDN’T BE IN THIS STATE NOW WOULD I?!”
Spike roared.
“I know . . .”
“No, you don’t know how it feels . . .”
“I mean I know where she is,” Joyce said.
“You mean you know where Dru is?” Spike looked up
at his mother.
“I just found out, while looking through some of
the papers I stole from Hank,” Joyce explained, “And I found letters from a
convent in
“Oh my God, mum,” Spike got up and hugged
her. “We gotta find her!”
“Not until you get past me,” Hank growled from the
doorway, “Joyce, I want those papers back.”
“I burned them,” she said simply. Hank flew when she said this. He went over and started to strangle her
while Spike desperately tried to get him off.
“WHERE ARE THEY JOYCE?! I KNOW DAMN WELL YOU
DIDN’T BURN THEM!” Hank roared.
“You think you’re going to win Hank, but you’re
not,” Joyce wheezed. Hank’s grip was
getting tighter until Spike finally managed to hit a spot where Hank grabbed in
deep pain.
“You bastard boy,” Hank rasped.
“Come on, mum, let’s get outta here,” Spike said,
wrapping his arm around his mother and leading her out of the room. They didn’t see Hank pick up his phone and
dial Riley’s number.
“Finn,” Hank barked.
“Yes, Mr. Summers,” Riley replied.
“Where’s Buffy?”
“We don’t know, sir, but a source said that they
were heading towards the airport,” Riley informed Hank.
“The airport?” Hank gritted, “Go and get
them, and kill the boy if you have to, and bring Graham and Forrest with you.”
“Yes, sir,” Riley got his instructions and hung up
the phone.
And I don’t
wanna move a thing, it might change my memory
The car reached the airport. Angel got their three bags out of the trunk
of the taxi and paid the driver a fee of $50.00. With Buffy walking slowly behind him, Angel
got into one of the lines to buy tickets.
Buffy held her stomach in slight pain, but held back her tears.
“Sit down on the suitcase, Buffy,” Angel said
gently, making her sit on one of the suitcases.
“It hurts so much Angel,” Buffy whimpered.
“I know,” He sat down next to her and cradled her
head.

Dawn laid on the bed in
her room while she heard the panicked screams of her mother and Spike’s
overturning and breaking of the furniture.
She had sobbed as much as possible and now had very puffy, red
eyes.
“God, I wish this would all stop,” Dawn said to
herself aloud. Then she did the only
thing she could think to do. She jumped
off the bed and snatched the backpack that was under it and started packing the
stuff she wanted to bring with her.
Swiftly, she climbed out the window taking one last look at her
room.
~*--*~
When Spike and his mother got to a safer room in
the house, he wasted no time in asking her questions. “Where are the letters? I need them now!”
“Spike, honey, take it easy,” Joyce tried to calm
her son down.
“Mom, you don’t know how much I need those
letters,” Spike pleaded, “I’ve wanted for so long to find Dru, and now I have
the chance. We have the chance to be
together again, like we were always meant to be.”
“Fine, Spike,” Joyce reached into her pocket and
took out some of the letters. Spike
grabbed at them like gold and began to read them, “Mum, there’s a number on here!” Joyce looked at her son. “I have to call
her.” He ran over to the phone in the room and began dialing the numbers. Joyce just sat back and watched.
“Hello. You’ve reached Le Convent de Paris (A/N:
can’t speak French…couldn’t think of another name…). How may I help you?” A woman with a French
accent came on the other end.
“Yes, is there a Drusilla Landers there? Please it
is with great urgency that I must speak to her,” Spike said quickly but
politely.
“One moment please, I will transfer her to your
room,” The french woman said.
“Thank you,” Spike almost began to cry. He was finally going to be able to speak to
Dru again. The transfer went through and
the phone began to ring.
“Hello, Drusilla Landers speaking, may I ask who’s
calling,” Dru said in the politest voice.
“Dru,” Spike released the words with tears running
down his face, “It’s Spike.”
Oh I am what
I am, I’ll do what I want but I can’t hide
Angel had gotten their boarding passes and Buffy a
wheelchair. They made it through baggage
check without any major problems. They
were moving quickly to the gate of the flight to
“What gate are we going to?” Buffy asked him.
“Gate 46,” Angel said.
“There they are!” Graham’s voice came from behind
them.
“Oh, shi…” Angel had begun to wheel Buffy more
quickly through the crowds of people that were rushing to their gates.
“Stop right there, O’Connor,” Riley said, beginning
to attract attention to the situation.
Angel kept speeding Buffy along.
“Angel what’s happening?” she whimpered.
“Don’t worry about it,” he quickly retorted,
getting very frustrated because the gate was all the way in the back of the
terminal.

Dawn had been walking for only God knows how
long. She was beginning to get really
tired and hungry. She saw the city in
the distance and prayed she could make it there before nightfall. The sun had already begun to set, so she
needed to move quickly.
~*--*~
“Spike?” Dru answered in a whisper
on the other end.
“Yes, luv, it’s me,” Spike said, tears very
apparent in his voice.
“Why did you call?” Dru said, “Don’t you have
someone better to be with?”
“Dru, what are you talkin’ about?” Spike frowned,
“The only woman I’ve ever loved was…”
“Don’t lie to me, Spike!” Drusilla began to yell
on the other end, “You cheated on me!”
“Dru, how could you even say that? I never would
do anything like that to you!” Spike said, “I love you too much to do that to
you.”
“Stop,” Drusilla was now in tears at this point in
her room, “Your father told me that there was another woman in your life that
you were happier with, and he told me to come here to the convent.”
“My…father,” Realization hit Spike on the head
like a ton of bricks, “Dru, listen to me.
My father isn’t a trustworthy man.
He lied to you. I’ve never loved
any woman besides you. You’re my everything, my whole
world, my sunshine.” Joyce began to roll
her eyes at how much he was trying to suck up to Dru.
“Really,” Drusilla wiped her tears on the other
end of the phone.
“Yea,” Spike said, “Now we’re going to come and
get you as soon as possible.”
“We?” Dru asked suspiciously.
“My mum and I,” Spike said.
“How are Dawn and Buffy?” Dru asked.
“Buffy ran away with Angel and Dawn’s…” Another
look of realization came upon Spike’s face.
He put his hand over the receiver, “Mom, go see how Dawn is.” Joyce left the room and wandered off to
Dawn’s room. “Mum’s checkin’ the little bit now,” he
said into the receiver, “So how’ve you been?
How’s the convent?”
“I’ve learned a lot,” Dru said, “It’s lovely
here. There are so many gardens and
places to just think by yourself for a while.”
“That’s goo…” Spike
started to say but then heard a scream.
“What was that Spike?” Drusilla said, hearing
something herself.
“Hold on,” Spike put the receiver down and ran
towards where the scream was coming from.
“Mum?” He saw his mother standing
at the entrance of Dawn’s room.
“She’s gone, Spike,” Joyce gasped, “Look in her
room, it’s all torn apart and the window’s open, and, oh, Spike my little
baby’s gone. What if she’s hungry? Or
what if a man comes and snatches her. Spike! She’s only fourteen!
“What?!” Spike yelled, “Hold
on…” Spike ran back to the phone, “Dru,
look I can’t talk anymore right now because Dawn’s run away and Mum and I need
to find her, but right after we do, we’re coming for you, you got that luv?”
“Yes,” Drusilla whispered, “Spike, I’m sorry. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Spike said and then hung up the
phone, “I’m coming Mom!”
And I won’t
go, I won’t sleep
“Where are you, you damned gate?” Angel seethed to
himself. Riley and the others were close behind
him.
“Freeze!” Riley yelled and took out
his gun. All of the people around him
screamed and ran in the opposite direction he was pointing it in.
“DAMMIT!” Angel saw the gate in the distance and
began to break out in a run with Buffy being pushed ahead very quickly.
“Angel, what’s going on?” Buffy moaned.
“Keep your head down,” Angel ordered and kept
running.
“O’Connor, freeze or we’ll shoot!” Forrest
shouted. Angel just kept on running
towards the gate which was getting closer and closer. Riley shot his gun at Angel’s leg but it missed
by barely a few inches. He and Buffy
finally ran to the booth of the gate.
“Please, we need to be checked in quickly,” Angel
said. The next second, Angel found Riley
pointing a gun right at his head.
“Oh my God,” the red-headed airline worker screamed.
She immediately grabbed the telephone and tried to dial security.
“Don’t bother, ma’am,” Graham snarled, coming up
with Forrest behind Riley, “We killed all of security.”
“O’Connor, slowly back away from the wheelchair,
if you cooperate, you don’t get killed,” Riley commanded. The red-headed worker was trying to think of
how to get herself, the man they called “O’Connor”,
and the woman in the wheelchair out of here.
She ducked under the desk, making it look like she was hiding.
“Angel,” Buffy whimpered, “Don’t let them take
me.”
“Shut up, Buffy, you’re going home,” Riley
gritted. The red-headed girl had found
an old fire extinguisher they kept under the desk in case of a fire.
“No,” Buffy whined, “I’m not.”
“Let her go, O’Connor,” Angel was looking at Buffy
and then back at Riley. He saw the
red-head quietly begin to stand up with something in her hands.
“Hey you bastard,” the girl said to Riley. Riley turned his head for that second and she
slammed the fire extinguisher straight across his face. It took a moment to long for Graham and
Forrest to react for the next thing they knew, the red-head had knocked Forrest
out while Angel beat up Graham.
“You ever come near me and my wife again, I’ll
kill you, and that’s a promise,” Angel threatened. Graham meekly nodded his head and began to
run.
“Are you alright?” Angel went back over to Buffy
and kneeled down next to the wheelchair.
Buffy nodded her head but began crying.
“Ma’am, we can’t thank you enough…”
“
“What?”
“My name is Willow Rosenburg,”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you
“You’re the heir of…” Angel nodded his head, “And
you’re the daughter of Ha…”
“No,” Buffy sharply cut her off, “Not
anymore. He doesn’t deserve to be called
father.”
“Well, I think if you guys want to get to
“
“Oh no, I couldn’t I have to stay here…”
“No,
“When will it be safe to come back?”
“When my father’s dead,” Buffy said.
“Let’s go,” Angel wheeled Buffy and led
“Welcome aboard,” the woman smiled.
“We need to go,” Angel said and looked onto the
platform, where he heard voices coming down the hallway, “Now!”
“Sir,” the stewardess said, “There might be
passengers.”
“Trust me,”
The stewardess ran to the
cockpit and told the captain, who immediately began to back out and taxi along
the runaway.
The captain came on over
the intercom, “Passengers and flight attendants,
please be seated with your seat belts on and trays in the upright position for
takeoff.” Buffy,
“I love you so much,”
Buffy whispered.
“I love you too,” Angel
replied to her, “I’m never letting you out of my sight again.”
“Good,” Angel said, taking
Buffy’s hand, “Where are they?”
I can’t breathe until you’re resting here with me
Dawn had reached the edge
of town by the time the sun had fully set.
Remembering something, she sat her backpack down, opened it, and
rummaged through it until she found her journal. She opened it to a certain page and read over
what she had written. Suddenly, she
smiled and began looking around for the street she was looking for.
~*--*~
“Thanks, Willow,” Angel
smiled at her, “You don’t mind if we get some rest do you?”
“No, not at all,”
“Alone at last,” Angel
carefully picked Buffy up and laid her on the bed.
“Angel,” Buffy breathed as
she put her hand on top of his, “Make love to me.”
“Buffy, are you sure, I
mean there’s not a lot of space here and your wound hasn’t healed…”
Buffy shushed him by
putting her finger to his lips, “It doesn’t matter. What does is that I want you to make love to
me.”
“Anything for you,
beloved,” he whispered before taking Buffy’s finger and sucking it into his
mouth. He soon took her finger out and
began kissing all the way up her arm, each kiss with a different elegance and
gentleness then the one before it.
~*--*~
Dawn ran towards a big
house at the end of the street she was on.
“Come on, Dawn. You can do
it.” Her pacing began to get slower and
slower until she finally stopped and stared at the big white mansion in front
of her before finally sprinting up to the door and ringing the chiming
doorbell.
“Hello?” Anna O’Connor
opened the door, “Dawn? What are you
doing here? Come in!” Mrs. O’Connor gently took Dawn by the shoulder and
ushered her inside.
“It’s a really long
story,” Tears began to well up in Dawn’s eyes for only God knew how many times
that day.
“Well, let’s get you settled
first,” Anna said and then called, “Kathy! Come downstairs!”
Immediately, footsteps
were heard banging on the stairway, “Dawn?” Kathy
half-smiled, being glad that Dawn was there but wondering why she had a sad
face.
“It looks like Dawn’s
going to be staying with us for a while,” Anna told Kathy, “So why don’t you
show her to the guest bedroom?”
“Yes, Mom,” Kathy nodded
her head.
“We’re going to have a
talk later about what’s going on,” Anna placed her hands on Dawn’s shoulders in
a motherly way, “Don’t you worry about a thing.”
~*--*~
“Where could she have gone
Spike?” Joyce asked frantically.
“Well, her journal’s missin’ and that’s where she keeps a lot of her
information,” Spike said.
Joyce glared at him, “You
invaded your sister’s privacy?”
“”Mom, let’s not worry
about that right now. Right now, we
gotta find my little sister. “
~*--*~
“Buffy, you’re so
beautiful,” Angel moaned. He gently
began to take off her shirt, being very careful of the cloth coming in contact
with the slowly healing, bandaged wound.
“Angel,” Buffy breathed
lightly. He soothingly kissed her
lips. His tongue dove into the wet
cavern of her mouth while his hands ran along her back to the clasp of her bra. She moaned into his mouth the same second he
managed to undo the hook. “I love you so
much…”
“We’ll be together, I
promise,” Angel swore. With help from
Buffy, he removed the bra she had on and absorbed the gorgeousness of her
breasts. He began kissing her neck all
the way down to one of her breasts where he stopped and planted light, feathery
kisses all around the quickly hardening breast.
“Angel,” Buffy let out in
a whispery moan. He briefly smiled
before starting to suck on her nipple, quickly making her arch more into him
and letting out another breathless moan.
Her hand wandered under his shirt, slowly dragging it up so she could
take it off. He reluctantly let go of
her breast while they helped each other take off his shirt.
~*--*~
Riley and Forrest finally
awoke, finding themselves in a dark closet, and with major headaches. Riley put his ear to the door to hear if
there was any noise outside. There
apparently was not. Riley quietly opened the door and motioned to Forrest to
follow him. When they opened the door, no one was in
sight.
“What happened to Graham?”
Forrest asked.
Riley rubbed his head, “I
dunno. Did you see where Buffy went?”
“No, the red head knocked
me out by then,” Forrest recalled.
“Dammit,” Riley growled,
“We need to find them. Summers will be
pissed enough as it is.”
“What do we do?” Forrest
wondered.
“”We need to find someone
who’ll be able to help us,” Riley started too pace, “Then we find the terminal
and look at the computer to see what the last flight was. Then we track them wherever they’ve gone,
find Buffy and bring her home.”
“Too bad when we get her,
we won’t be able to get some of that hotness,” Forrest fantasized aloud.
“I had that little bitch
under my weight, begging for me to kiss her,” Riley smirked although he left
out the detail of Buffy asking Angel to kiss her.
~*--*~
Buffy and Angel had both
shed their clothes and Angel braced himself on top of Buffy. “Buffy,” Angel said in between his comforting
assault on her mouth, “You’re mine.” He growled.
“Always and forever,”
Buffy breathed. Angel placed the tip of
his length at her entrance and slowly seeped into her. Buffy gripped him tightly from the
intrusion. This wasn’t the first time
they had made love, but it seemed that Angel was different every time he slept
with her. Angel pushed in until he was
near the small opening to her womb.
“Buffy,” Angel moaned in a
slither of a whisper. He began to slide
in and out of her, carefully creating a pleasuring and comforting sensation to
Buffy. He gained speed and dove in and
out of her wetness, building up both his and her orgasm.
And I won’t leave and I can’t hide
Riley and Forrest were
wandering down the terminal hallways when they bumped into Graham. “What
happened to you?”
“S...She...they…” Graham
shook with fear and pointed towards the way to the gate.
“They
what?!”
Forrest yelled at him.
“The…three...o…of…them
g…got away,” Graham shivered with fright.
“Stop shaking you wimp,”
Riley told him.
“I can’t, Finn,” Graham
told him, “He’s ten times stronger then us.
We’re gonna lose if we go up against him.”
“We’re not gonna lose,”
Riley seethed, “We’re going to get her back, but before we bring her home, she’ll
watch while we kill Angel, slowly and painfully.” Graham shook his head.
“He’ll beat you in a
second,” he noted, “He’s not afraid to hurt anyone. He wants to protect Buffy. Buffy is all he cares about. Buffy is all he wants. He doesn’t care what happens to anyone or
anything else. She seems to be his sole
purpose in life. At least that’s what I
think he thinks.”
Riley suddenly slammed
Graham against the nearest wall, “Did I ask you what you think he thinks?”
Riley growled.
“N…no sir,” Graham
stuttered.
“Good,” Riley threw him
against the wall and let him go, “Now let’s go.
We have a job to do.”

Buffy and Angel came
together, Angel still pounding into her and Buffy screaming Angel’s name in
ecstasy. Her warmth was covering his
already rehardening length. He kept on thrusting in and out of her for
hours, until the came many more times. Both were too exhausted to sleep and rested in
each other’s arms.
Little did they know that
in Buffy’s stomach a baby had just been conceived.
~*--*~
James entered his home,
exhausted from a day of work. He was the
CEO of a large technology company. “Anna,
Kathy,” he called, ‘I’m home!”
“We’re in the kitchen,”
Anna called back to him. James followed
the sound of her voice and found her, Kathy, and to his great surprise, Dawn,
sitting in the kitchen, tears about to fall from her eyes.
“Dawn,” he threw
everything to the side and immediately went over to Dawn, “What happened?”
“Well,” Dawn swallowed,
“My mother and Hank were fighting again, and Spike had gone slightly insane and
attempted to kill himself, and everyone left me alone. I just wanted someone to be with so I came
here.” Her tears finally began to
spill.
“It’s alright,” Kathy
said, “We’re here for you.”
“Wait,” Dawn realized,
“You and…Hank…in the hospital…you recognized each other.”
James sat down in the
chair next to Dawn’s, “Dawn, your father and I…” James began but paused and
sighed. “I should start from th beginning,” James sighed again. “About three years ago, your father and I
were going to merge our two businesses together. The contract we made would eventually bring
in millions of dollars. It seemed like
every businessperson’s dream come true.”
“Then what happened?” Dawn
asked, worried what was going to come next.
“Well, it turns out that
there was a clause in the contract that would give your father full control of the
merged company after a certain amount of profit had been made. It also turned out that another part of the
contract would leave many people homeless, since we would have to build a new
building. Now even though I was stubborn
as hell back then, I did have an ounce of compassion in me. Not to mention the fact that I was pissed off
because I would eventually become non-existent in the company. So I backed out of the deal. Hank was furious with me and threatened to
torment me and my family. I didn’t care,
I still backed out, but then Angel met your sister. I thought it was wonderful that Angel had
found the perfect girl to settle down with, but when I found out that she was
Hank Summers’ daughter I forbade Angel to see her anymore. That was before I found out the trouble Hank
caused in your family.”
And I cannot be until you’re resting here with me
“So, you’re saying my
father cheated you?’ Dawn questioned. James nodded his head. Just then, Dawn realized something, “Mr.
O’Connor, sir, I need to call my mother.”
“Go right ahead,” James
grinned and pointed to the phone.
~*--*~
~*--*~
Joyce flew around the
house, hoping her daughter was somewhere hiding, and she really didn’t run
away. A few seconds later, the phone
rang. Joyce ran to the nearest one and
picked it up. “Hello?”
“Mom, it’s Dawn,” Dawn’s
voice came over the phone.
“Dawn! Where are you? Spike and I have been worried
sick! We were looking for you!”
“Mom, I’m at the
O’Connor’s,” Dawn told her.
“You
mean, you went somewhere else?” Joyce breathed in.
“Yes,” Dawn said
meekly.
“My brilliant child,”
Joyce sighed in relief, “You’re too smart to runaway without going
somewhere. Now listen to me. Spike and I are going to
“You found Dru?” Dawn asked,
“Oh, thank God. I thought she’d…I
thought the worst had happened to her.”
“It didn’t, honey, she’s
safe in a convent,” Joyce informed her.
“Joyce!” Hank boomed from
the hallway.
“Dawn, sweetie, I have to
go, but please, call me on my cell phone later, I love you,” Joyce told her.
“I love you too,” Dawn
said and heard the click of the phone to know that Joyce had hung up.
“Joyce, there you are,”
Hank said.
“What do you want?” Joyce
gritted.
“Look, I know I’ve done
some bad things lately,” He came over and took Joyce’s hands in his, “And I
haven’t treated you or the kids the way I should’ve.”
“Your
point?”
Joyce looked him straight in the eye.
“The point is that I
wanted to start making it up to you,” Hank said, “I wanted to take you out to
dinner tomorrow night. What do you say?”
~*--*~
Dawn turned around to face
the O’Connor’s with a smile on her face.
“What happened?” Kathy asked.
“Spike found Dru,” Dawn
said.
“Dru?” Anna questioned, “Who’s Dru?”
“Dru is Drusilla
Landers. She’s Spike’s girlfriend that
he thought he’d lost a couple of years ago.”
“Where’d they find her?”
James asked.
“She’s in a convent in
I don’t wanna call my friends or they might wake me from this
dream
Angel and Buffy were
sleeping when they thought they were hearing a phone ring. Angel woke up only enough to take the cell
phone out of his bag and threw it against the cabin’s wall. This startled Buffy out of her sleep.
“Who’s there?” She mumbled
rubbing her eyes.
“Shhh, go back to sleep,
my love,” Angel said.
“I can’t,” Buffy yawned,
“I’m up now, and I’m here with you, and that’s what I want right now.”
“Buffy, I love you so
much,” Angel ran his hand through her hair.
“I love you too,” Buffy
kissed Angel lightly, “Angel? I’ve been wanting to ask
you something.”
“Anything,” Angel sat
up.
“I remember in the
hospital you saying we were married. How?” Buffy
wanted to know.
“Well, you see the
claddagh ring on your finger? In
“We’re married,” Buffy
breathed, “We’re married!” Buffy smiled and jumped onto Angel’s lap.
~*--*~
“I…” Joyce faltered. She couldn’t tell if Hank was lying or he was
really trying to change.
“Please, Joyce,” Hank got
down on one knee in front of her, “Just one dinner, you don’t have to like
anything, but please, I just feel like I’ve lost touch with you, and I want to
have the relationship we had back.”
“Hank, I don’t know I…” She was silenced with Hank soothingly kissing her.
“Joyce, I miss you so
much,” Hank said, “I’m not the same without you.”
“Hank, I don’t know what
to say,” Joyce said, getting very flattered.
“Please say yes,” Hank
begged.
“Well…” Joyce thought for
a moment, “…Yes, I’ll go with you to supper.”
“Oh, Joyce,” Hank hugged
her, “If it’s not too much, I got you I dress I thought you might like to
wear. I left it on your bed.”
“Hank, you didn’t have to
do that,” Joyce blushed.
“But I want to keep my
wife happy,” Hank smiled, “Now I’m sorry to have to do this, but I have to go
and work. You know how hard keeping the
company up is,” Hank half-laughed. “I’ll
see you at dinner then?” Joyce smiled
and nodded her head.
And I can’t leave this bed, risk forgetting all that’s
been.
“That’s awful,” Anna grimaced,
“Why would he?”
“My father didn’t like
where Drusilla came from. He thought she
was of ‘lower’ class,” Dawn explained, “People said that her whole family was
insane. Of course when Spike began
dating Drusilla, my father was furious.”
“I can’t imagine the rage
he went into,” James said.
“My father abused Spike
many times,” Dawn shuddered, “Sometimes with Buffy and me and Mom in the
room. We were so scared, we were afraid
to go against anything my father said.
Buffy was the first one to recover.
When she met Angel, she somehow gained the courage to stand up to
Hank. It was a new beginning for all of
us. Spike was determined to find Dru,
and Buffy would not leave Angel’s side.”
“What happened?” Kathy
asked.
“Well, one day, Angel came
to our house, and asked Buffy to pack her things, since they were going
away. Buffy threw a few things in her
old leather carrying bag, and began to go with Angel. Unfortunately, Hank heard them and he was
ready for them in the foyer with a gun.”
Kathy and Anna gasped as Dawn said this.
“My father threatened to kill Angel if he tried to take Buffy with
him. Buffy came down
the stairs with her things as he said this, and she protected Angel, saying
that if Hank killed Angel, she’d kill herself. Angel moved Buffy out of the way of a gunshot
that was off aim and they took the opportunity to run. Hank fired three more gunshots, but they
escaped.”
“If that man had shot my
son,” James seethed, “May God have not helped him.”
“We were worried about
Buffy and what might have happened to her, but all I wanted her to do was to
come home,” Dawn admitted. “I didn’t want her to go anywhere without me, Mom,
and Spike. Hank couldn’t find them for a
couple of weeks, but he and his men finally found them in a penthouse apartment

~*--*~
“Finn,” Hank said
energetically, “How are you?”
“Sir, your daughter
escaped with him,” Riley said over his cell phone. “We’re doing everything we can to locate
them.”
“Finn, I have to say I’m
disappointed in you,” Hank said, “But I can’t be angry, because I might just
find out where they are for you.”
“What?” Finn
questioned. ‘How the hell is he going to
do that?’ he thought to himself.
“Let’s just say, I have a
close connection,” Hank said sneakily.
“Alright, sir,” Finn said
into the phone, “If we find out anything else, we call you.”
“You got it,” Hank said
merrily. He hung up the phone.
Riley hung up and told
Graham and Forrest what had happened. “I
can’t think of a way that Hank could get that kind of information. Only one of his other family members would
probably know, and they would probably rather die than tell him where Buffy
is.”
“Well, what do we do?”
Forrest asked stupidly.
“We try to track them
down.”
~*--*~
Buffy and Angel had spent
a few hours talking about what they were going to do once this whole fiasco was
over.
“Clive
Christian,” Buffy said, “His kitchen designs are amazing. I’ve seen them.”
“You don’t like the
kitchen?” Angel looked at her suspiciously.
“I love the kitchen,”
Buffy said, “But I just think it could use a little livening up. And Clive Christian
is the perfect designer to do the job.”
“Why can we just get one
of those companies that does simple modeling?”
“Because if we get a Clive Christian kitchen, we’ll be the talk of the city,
he’s been called one of the best interior and plate ware designers in the
world,” Buffy told him. “Don’t you want
to wake up every morning and eat breakfast in a wonderful kitchen where the sun
is brightly shining and you can see a view of the city?”
“Maybe,” Angel smiled
jokingly until Buffy gave him a small glare, “Alright, yes I do.”
Buffy laughed and then
asked, “What are we going to do when we get to
“Well, we’re going to go
to my house there, which I think you’ll like,” Angel said into her ear, “Then
we can make hours of sweet love together.”
“Mmm,” Buffy moaned,
“Sounds good.”
Oh I am what I am, I’ll do what I want but I can’t hide
Riley and the others had
broken into the main database of the airport and were able to track where Buffy
and Angel had taken the flight to.
“
“Because they wanted to
get as far away from here as possible,” Riley groaned. “We need to find another flight or helicopter
that will take us to
“Do you know where they’ll
be?” Forrest asked.
“That’s our job,” Riley
said for the millionth time, “We’ve got to find where they are, arrest Angel
and hand him over to the government and make sure Buffy comes back with us.”
~*--*~
“Buffy and Angel and the
police had a short high-speed car chase,” Dawn explained, “And I guess the cops
started shooting at the car. One of the
bullets hit Buffy’s left shoulder.”
“My God,” James said,
“Hank was trying to kill his own daughter?”
“No,” Dawn began to
correct him, “He was trying to get Buffy away from Angel. From what I was told, Hank gave strict orders
not to hurt Buffy and flipped out when he found out she’d been wounded.”
“Was she taken to the
hospital?” Kathy asked,
“She was, but Hank came
and told her that she wasn’t staying.
Since she was falling in and out of consciousness, she really couldn’t
fight, but Angel was yelling at him that she needed to be helped. But Hank had his men hold him back while Buffy
was carry out into the car,” Dawn continued her story.
~*-4 hours later-*~
The plane had landed
safely in
“Oh my God, Angel,” Buffy
gasped as she saw the house come into view, “How were
you ever able to afford this?”
“My father got it for me
for my 21st birthday. He
suggested when I had settled down, my wife and I could live here or use it as a
retreat,” Angel smiled.
“It’s so beautiful,” Buffy
commented.
“And it’s all ours,”
Angel’s face curved into a smile, seeing that his love was charmed by the
house, “It even has a vineyard.”
Buffy gasped, “You make
wine here?”
“Sometimes,” Angel said to
her, “I mostly use it to make wine for myself and my guests. Also, on the rare occasion that I come here, I also like to sit in the vineyard and meditate, draw,
or write. I just let everything in me
flow.”
The car slowed to a stop
in the front of the brick-made driveway.
The driver unloaded Buffy and Angel’s suitcases from the limo and placed
them by the door. Angel thanked the driver
and gave him 50 € before turning back towards Buffy and the house, “Well, here
goes nothing,” Angel fumbled with the keys in his pockets. When he found the right key, he put the key
in the lock and unlocked the door. When
he opened the door, Buffy was stunned beyond belief. “Angel,”
she gasped, “Where in heaven’s name did you…oh my…”
“I’m working side-by-side
with an architect. He said he’d love to
design the interior of my house for me,” Angel beamed. Buffy began to walk around in the huge
foyer. It was painted a light blue white
and had white marble tile on the floor.
“Angel…” Buffy whispered
as she went over to admire some of the paintings on the walls.
And I won’t go, I can’t sleep, I can’t breathe
Spike began packing his
things to go to
“Where’s the ring?” Spike
mumbled to himself as he rummaged through his pockets. When he couldn’t find it, he went over to his
bureau and checked all the drawers. It
finally dropped out of one of the socks in his sock drawer. He immediately snatched it up. “I’ve been wanting to give you to her for a long time.” He carefully placed the ring in a special
case underneath all of his clothes. Then
he closed the suitcase and zipped it up.
Finally, he took out a thick envelope addressed to his mother and left
it on the bed, explaining where he was going, but not what he was going to do.
~*--*~
“Angel, where did you get some
of these paintings?” Buffy asked, awed, “They’re beautiful.”
“Well, I bought some from
the artists, directly…” Angel started to say, “Come on,” he took her hand, “I
want to go you something else” He led her to the study in which there was a
painting above the fireplace mantle that had…
“You and
me?”
Buffy gasped, “We’re on a beach, in our wedding clothes. Angel, where did you get this?”
“I painted it,” Angel
smiled, “I dreamed of where our wedding would be and I thought the first place
was on a beach. And then after the
ceremony was finished, I’d pick you up and carry you back to the room we were
staying in and make love to you.”
Buffy lightly traced her
hand over the picture, “Angel, it’s amazing.
When did you do it?”
“A few weeks after we met,”
Angel told her, “I knew that you were the one I was someday going to marry,
have a house and family with.” Tears
began streaming down Buffy’s face, “Buffy?”
He rushed over and held her.
“It’s so beautiful. You’re so beautiful,” Buffy cried in his
arms, “I’d never thought I’d be here with you right now.”
“It’s alright, love, we’re
here, and we’re together,” Angel told her, “Nothing’s going to ever change
that.”
“How can you be sure?”
Buffy choked, “How can you be sure that Hank won’t come and take you away from
me?”
“I know I’m probably going
to sound like Westley from ‘The Princess Bride’ but
this is true love, even death cannot stop it.
I’ll always be here for you, Buffy.”
“I’ll always be here for
you too,” Buffy sobbed and hugged Angel.
“Come on,” Angel took her
hand again, “You must be hungry. You
didn’t eat anything on the plane.”
“That’s because I was
having one of the best times of my life with you,” Buffy smiled and stopped
sobbing as he led her to the kitchen.
“And you didn’t eat anything, either, mister, so don’t just worry about
me.”
“I love you so much, you
know that?” Angel stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked at her in
fascination.
Until you’re resting here with me, and I won’t leave, I can’t
hide
“I wonder where they are
now,” Dawn leaned her face on her hand on the table, “I hope they’ve run off to
some far away place where no one can find them for a while.”
“What if…” James thought,
“Anna, the mansion in
“You don’t think…” Anna
gasped. “That house hasn’t been occupied
by any of us in years.”
“But it’s a safe haven for
the both of them,” Kathy said, “It’s a secret paradise.”
“But that’s only if they
were able to get out of the country,” Dawn said, “And I doubt Hank would let
them.”
~*--*~
“I can’t believe we let
them escape!” Riley slammed, “We should have gotten them
hours ago, and now we have to go to
“Will you stop
complaining?” Graham asked, “It’s getting us nowhere.”
“I’ll stop complaining
when I want too,” Riley grumbled.
“It’ll be harder to find
them when we get to
“Look for secluded, but
expensive, hotels or mansions,” Riley ordered,”If
they’re hiding somewhere, they’re hiding in good comfort.”
“Do you think in a mansion
in an unknown city?” Forrest asked, searching on his laptop.
“That could work…” Riley
pondered, “Why do you ask?”
“Well, I have a few
mansions here in different parts of
“We got him,” Riley
shouted in glee.
“Wait,” Forrest said, “The
owner lives in
“Dammit!” Riley yelled.
“Finn, calm down, it won’t
help us if you keep yelling.”
“What is wrong with you,
Graham?” Riley glared at him, “You’ve been jittery ever since the airport
incident.”
“I’ve just been thinking,”
Graham mumbled, “That’s all.”
“Well, you don’t need to
think for this assignment, I do,” Riley gritted, “What you need to do is it
back down and keep searching for them.”

Joyce entered her bedroom
with happy feelings in her heart. Maybe
Hank was really trying to change for the better. She really hoped so. As her bed came more into view, she caught
site of a long cream colored dress.
“Do you like it?” Hank
came up behind her.
“Hank, I don’t know what
to say,” Joyce was taken aback, “It’s gorgeous.”
“Try it on,” he smiled.
“How much did this cost?”
Joyce picked it up and saw that it had little prism gemstones in it.
“Don’t worry, my darling,”
he called her, “Don’t worry about a silly thing like the price. What you should be doing is trying it on.”
“OK,” Joyce’s face beamed
at having a new dress. She flew into her
walk-in closer and immediately put the dress on. When she came back out, Hank backed away in
complete shock. He hadn’t expected the
dress to look that good on her.
“You look…” Hank stared
wide-eyed at her, “Words can’t describe how amazing you look.”
I cannot be until you’re resting her with me
Buffy watched as Angel cut
the melon into slices to share between themselves. “We’re here for like ten seconds and you
already have me wanting to stay here for the rest of our lives.”
“That’s a major
possibility,” Angel smiled as he fed her a slice of the melon.
“Mmm,” Buffy moaned, “It’s
so beautiful here. How’d you ever find
this place?”
“Well, one of my father’s
business clients originally owned this house.
It used to be in horrible condition.
He agreed to sell it to my father for a set price. And then my father gave it to me for my 21st
birthday.”
“Everything here’s is so
open,” Buffy picked up a slice of melon and fed it to Angel,
“So light, and free. I feel so safe here.”
“Buffy?”
“Hmm?”
“Have you ever thought
about kids?” Angel asked as the question popped in his mind.
“If I can have your
children then I’d be the happiest woman ever to walk this earth. We could final have our own little family.”
Angel beamed at her. All of a sudden,
Buffy grimaced.
“Buffy? What’s the
matter?” Angel sat by her side.
“I think…I’m gonna…” Buffy
managed to lean into the sink Befort she threw up and
passed out.
“Buffy!” Angel caught her
inches before she hit the floor, “Sweetie?” Buffy moaned back.
“Hospital,” she managed to
get out.
“Oh, God,” Angel managed
to said before he carried to the front and barked to the butler that had come
without either of them realizing it,, “Get a car!”
“Yes, Mr. O’Connor,” the
Italian butler rushed off to another part of the house and brought and
expensive-looking car around to the front door. Angel immediately placed Buffy
in the very large back seat and ran around to the driver’s seat where the
butler held the door open for him.

Spike managed to call a
taxi and sneak out of the house unnoticed.
“JFK airport, Continental…” he said when he got into the yellow
car. The driver nodded his head as Spike

And I won’t go, I won’t sleep, I can’t breathe until you’re
resting here with me
Angel was speeding at an
alarming rate towards the hospital.
Buffy was moaning in the back seat while clutching her stomach. “Angel, make it stop,” she whimpered.
“We’ll be at the hospital
in a few minutes,” Angel assured her. He
showed a determined look on his face.
After a few more turns, he rushed to the entrance of the Italian hospital,
and slammed his foot on the brake to stop.
Buffy felt her stomach churn somemore.
“Somebody help!” Angel yelled as
he got out of the car and opened the back door and gently lifted Buffy into his
arms. “Somebody help her!” Angel ran
inside and started to try to find the emergency room.
“Sir, can I help you?” a
male nurse with a very thick Italian accent came up and said to him.
“Yes, my wife, she began
throwing up when we were eating. She
seemed fine seconds before, but then she vomited and passed out,” Angel
explained to the nurse.
“OK, follow me, I’ll take
you to the emergency room,” the nurse told him and began to jog towards the
ER. Angel followed him very closely with
Buffy still in his arms. “Doctor! I’m bringing in another,” the man said before
guiding Buffy and Angel into.
“What’s the situation?”
the doctor came over as the nurse brought a portable bed that Angel placed
Buffy on.
“Nausea and passing out,”
the nurse informed him, “My guess it’s either food poisoning or a
pregnancy.” Angel’s eyes shot up at the
word pregnancy. He wondered…
“Sir, you’ll have to step
outside for a few minutes,” the nurse said to Angel, “The doctor is going to
perform an ultrasound, and then you can go in and she her.”
~*--*~
“And
what about Spike?”
Anna asked.
“Spike is probably half
the way around the world to find Dru,” Dawn sighed, “She’s a bit insane but
they’re so right for each other. They’re
like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, opposites, and yet they match so
well.”
“From the way you describe
it,” Kathy said, “They sound inseparable.”
“They were until Hank sent
her to the convent,” Dawn said, “But now he’s going to find her, and they’ll be
together again like they should be.
And I won’t leave I can’t hide, I cannot be until you’re
resting here with me
Angel paced around outside
in the waiting room as he waited for the doctor to be finished with Buffy. He was getting very anxious.
~*--*~
“Well, Buffy,” the doctor
came back into the room with the results in his hand, “Congratulations, you’re
going to have a baby. Would you like me
to get the man outside?”
“My
husband?”
Buffy breathed carefully as she took this in, “Yes, please.” As the doctor left
she whispered to herself, “A baby.”
~*--*~
“Sir,” the doctor came out
into the waiting room and tapped Angel on his shoulder, “Sir, your wife would
like to see you. Follow me.” The doctor walked back into the emergency
room, followed by a slow moving Angel.
“Angel!” Buffy yelped as
he and the doctor stepped into her room.
“Buffy,” Angel immediately
ran over to her and sat beside her, “What happened? Is there anything wrong?”
“No,” Buffy smiled with
tears in her eyes, “Nothing’s wrong.
Angel, we’re going to have a baby.”
“Baby,” Angel managed to
whisper.
“Angel,” Buffy grasped his
hand tightly, “You know how I said I’d be the happiest woman on earth if I
could have your children?” Angel nodded
his head, “Well, I’m happier than the happiest woman.”
Tears of joy also began to
form in Angel’s eyes, “Buffy,” he choked, “I love you so much.” He pulled her into his embrace as they cried
tears of happiness on each others’ shoulders.
~*--*~
“Do you really think so?”
Joyce blushed, flattered by Hank’s words.
“Of course I do,” Hank
smiled, “Come, how about we dine in the dining room tonight?”
“Alright,” Joyce started
to follow, “Wait, I need to check on the kids.”
Hank nodded his approval for her to go, and she did, going to Spike’s
room thinking he’d be in there, only to open the door and find out he wasn’t. Joyce saw an envelope addressed to her on the
bed. It read:
Mom,
I know this’ll be hard for you to understand, but I’m leaving,
and I don’t plan on coming back to this house, ever. I can’t stand living with Hank anymore, and
now that I know where Dru is…I need to find her. I’m going to ask her to marry me. She’s the one mom, I’ve known it since the
first day I met her. So I’ll be going to
her now. Hell, I’ll probably be halfway
there by the time you get this. I pray
that you stay safe, and that Hank doesn’t hurt you.
Your son,
Spike
Joyce covered her mouth as
droplets of salty water from her eyes began to fall.
Oh I am what I am, I’ll do what I want, but I can’t hide, and
I won’t go
“Mrs. O’Connor? May I please make a phone call?” Dawn asked
politely.
“Of course you can, dear,
you know where the phone is,” Anna replied.
Dawn got up and picked up the telephone to dial her mother’s cell
phone. She twirled the phone cord around
her fingers as she waited for her mother to pick up.
“Hello,” Joyce’s voice came
on the line, “Joyce speaking.”
“Mom? It’s Dawn,” Dawn said to
her.
“Hi, Dawn,” Joyce said in
a really I’m-not-paying-attention voice.
“Mom, what’s the matter?”
Dawn asked worriedly.
“Nothing’s the matter,
sweetie, why do you ask?” Joyce said still in a dazed voice.
“Mom, is Spike there?”
Dawn asked quietly.
“Yes,” Joyce lied, “Yes he
is.”
“Then why are you so
upset?” Dawn heard Joyce trying to hold back tears.
“Nothing’s wrong sweetie,”
Joyce choked, “I have to go.”
“No, Mom, wait!” Dawn shouted
until she heard the click of her mother hanging up.
“What happened?” Mr.
O’Connor asked.
“I need to go home,” Dawn
gritted, “now.”
I won’t sleep, I can’t breathe until
you’re resting here with me
Angel had managed to lie
on the hospital bed with Buffy. They laid together holding each other. “I can’t believe this,” Buffy smiled tiredly,
“I’m going to have a baby.”
“And it’s ours, all our,”
Angel said proudly, “He’ll be just like me.”
“Who said it’s going to be
a he?” Buffy looked at him, but still made a goofy smile at him, “She’s going
to have blonde hair like me, and your gorgeous brown
orbs so she can’t snatch up all of the guys when she’s older.”
“If that’s what she wants
to do then she’s not leaving the house until she’s thirty,” Angel laughed.
“Oh,” Buffy began to cry,
“Look at us. We’re already planning our
baby’s future, and we’re not even sure of ours yet.”
“Sweetie, it’s ok,” Angel
held her as she had her mood swing, “We’ll get through this.”

Spike checked-in with his
E-ticket at the desk. His flight was
early in the morning, so he had time to get something to eat and sleep.
…and he did just
that.
The next morning when he
woke up around
“Calling First class
ticket holders to board,” the ticket woman said, “First class tickets to
board.” Spike got up with his two carry-ons and went
to the woman taking the tickets, “Have a good flight, sir.”
“Thanks,” he mumbled. He walked his way onto the plane and sat in
one of the comfortably sized leather seats.
“May I get you an
alcoholic beverage, sir?” the steward immediately came up to him.
“Some whiskey please, from
the bottle,” Spike said and sat back as he waited for the flight to take off.
And I won’t leave And I can’t hide I cannot be until you’re

James brought the car
around to the front of the house and Dawn immediately got in. She left her stuff at the house because she
felt she’d be coming back.
“What do you think is
wrong?”
“It sounded like she was
lying about Spike being there,” Dawn sighed.
“So you think he left?”
“Yep, he probably found
out where Drusilla was and dashed without even leaving a note,” Dawn told
him.
“Oh.”
“I don’t think my dad will
be happy to see you in his house when you drop me off,” Dawn warned him.
“That’s alright,” James
said, “We have an old score to settle.”
“I dunno, my dad might
have something up his sleeve and he might be ready for you,” Dawn cautioned.
“I can handle him,” James
growled and sped forward.
And I won’t go I won’t sleep I can’t breathe until you’re

after the three small bottles of whiskey he had. To the passengers sitting around him, it
