My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I got out of bed at all

Buffy quietly woke up and got out of bed, trying not disturb her fiancé, Angel.  She opened the curtains, letting the sunlight shine on Angel, who had his back turned to her, showing the tattoo on his back.  Buffy quietly tiptoed to the bathroom to wash up.  She watched as Angel moved around a little bit, adjusting himself to his comfort.  Going into the large luxurious bathroom, she got out the container of bubble bath soap from the cabinet, went over to the Jacuzzi and turned the faucet on.

The morning rain clouds up my window and I can’t see at all.

Angel rolled around in the bed before finally rubbing and opening his eyes.  He looked around to see where Buffy was and then heard the sounds of the bathtub.  He smiled as he got up, and made the bed.  He could still smell the remainder of vanilla within the quilts.  While making the bed, he thought about how he and Buffy first met.  It was under very stressful circumstances, but they had gotten through it together.  You see, their families didn’t want them to be together, kinda like a Romeo &Juliet type thing. They snuck out of their houses to see each other.  Sometimes, they were caught by one of Angel’s siblings, or sometimes even Buffy’s sister.  When they got home, they were both immediately reprimanded and abused.  But that didn’t stop them at all.  They would take care of each other bruise and wounds.  They always brightened up each others day.

And even if I could it’d all be grey, but your picture on my wall

Buffy slipped off her nightgown and tied her hair back, remembering the day she and Angel ran off together.  It was a horrible day; rainy, cold, windy, thunder and lightening everywhere, but Angel came to her house ordered Buffy to pack her things and announced to the household that they were going away together.  Now, of course, Buffy’s father wouldn’t let Angel escape with his daughter that easily.  Mr. Summers got the gun he hid in the desk in his den and pointed it at Angel; threatening if he even thought about taking his daughter he’d never see the light of day again.  But Buffy at that moment came down the stairs with her stuff and told her father that if he dared to kill Angel, she’d kill herself.  And she moved her petite body in front of Angel’s tall, muscular one, protecting him.  Angel immediately pushed Buffy out of the way, just as Mr. Summers pulled the trigger.  The two of them barely made it out of the house before three more gunshots were aimed and shot at them, sending everyone in the house into a frenzy.

It reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad

Angel straightened out the bed covers, making sure there were no crumpled areas anywhere.  He was thankful that he was with Buffy in such a beautiful apartment.  Glancing up, he started to move towards the bathroom where Buffy was.  He smiled as he thought of the ride after he father had attempted to kill them both.  They had held each other’s hands and comforted each other, speaking soothing words to each other.  Buffy had all of a sudden remembered food and shelter.  When she asked, Angel had said it’d been taken care of.  When they had finally reached their destination, Angel showed Buffy to the penthouse of a beautiful apartment building.  She immediately started to look around and Angel asked if everything was to her liking, and to his pleasure it was.

I drank to much last night, got bills to pay

Buffy slipped down into the tub of fluffy bubble and very warm water.  With the bubbles hiding her body from anyone’s sight, she started to wash herself under the water, guiding her hands from her feet on up.  She also remembered the day Angel proposed to her.  Pink, red, and white rose petals had been spread all over the apartment and in their living room.  Angel took Buffy’s hand and kissed it before he kneeled down on one knee.  He took out a small red velvet box and a small blue velvet box.  He opened the red one first, taking out a claddagh ring and putting on her ring finger on her left hand.

She remembered his exact words as he explained the ring to her.

“The crown represents loyalty, the hands; friendship, and the heart…well, the heart represents love,” Angel had explained to her.

“Angel, it’s beautiful,” Buffy had felt a need to whisper at that moment.

Then she remembered Angel opening the second box.

“Buffy, ever since the first day I met you, I loved you,” Angel said, “And I know we don’t have the best of families but, I think that we can create our own family, and make it be the best that it can be.  So, Buffy Anne Summers, I’m going to ask you to make me the happiest man on Earth.  Will you marry me?”

“Yes,” Buffy said in a barely audible whisper, she had tears of joy in her eyes that slipped down onto her cheeks.  “Yes, Angel, I’ll marry you.”  Angel took a simple 3 karat diamond ring, the band of the ring platinum, and put it on the ring finger of her right hand.  “Oh my God, Angel you…” but she was interrupted by kiss gently placed on her mouth which she instinctively returned.

Yes, she’d make it work with Angel no matter what happened.  As she adjusted herself in the bathtub, the doorknob started to turn.  Buffy grinned as she saw her future husband step in.

“Good morning beloved,” Angel smiled, looking at her in the bathtub.  He went over and kneeled down next to her.   “What are you thinking?”

My head just feels in pain

“Just thinking about the past,” Buffy sighed.

“Don’t think about the past, Buffy,” He caressed her face with his hand.  “We have each other now, and no one can break that up.”

“I know,” she said taking his other hand.  “I just keep thinking that he has people trying to find us.”

“Faith and trust, Buffy, we must always have faith and trust in each other,” Angel said. “If we do then no matter what happens, we’ll be together.”

“But what if…” Buffy started but was shushed by Angel’s lips meeting hers in a soft kiss.  She wrapped her wet and soapy hands around his neck and pulled him closer.  Angel pried Buffy’s lips open and his tongue danced inside of her, feeling every spot.

“We’ll always be together, I’ll die without you Buffy,” Angel said barely breaking apart the kiss and whispering to her.

“You’ve been my whole life, Angel, the one thing that’s kept me from falling into insanity.  Angel you make me so happy and I love you so much, I never want to leave you…I’d be lost without you,” Buffy said, kissing him again.  Buffy started to climb of the bathtub when Angel stopped her.

“I’ll let you do that, stay there for a while,” Angel said.

I missed the bus today and there’ll be hell today

“Angel, no,” Buffy stopped him, “I want you to make love to me.” Angel’s eyes danced with joy and glittered when she said that. He smiled.

“Finish first, and then will do it properly,” Angel smiled and exited the bathroom.  Buffy quickly finished washing up.  She stepped out of the tub and put her silk nightgown and bathrobe on and stepped outside.

“You look beautiful, my love,” Angel said.  As Buffy moved towards him smiling, there suddenly was a knock at the door.  Angel motioned for Buffy to get out of sight.  He tiptoed quietly to the door and looked through the peephole to see who it was.

“Let us in! We’ve been sent to find Miss Buffy Summers, Open up or we’ll break down the door!” a man’s voice shouted.  Angel started to move away from the door as fast and as quietly as he could as the men started breaking the door open.  He found were Buffy was hiding and yanked her roughly out of that spot to hide somewhere else.  She was about to ask what was going on when Angel shushed her.  The men had finally broken down the door.

“Shit,” Angel cursed.  He thought for a moment.  If they all went into the same room he and Buffy could escape through the front door. It had some chance of working, but there was not much chance or time if it did.  He was quietly watching from a spot where they couldn’t see him that easily as they all went into the living room and kitchen.  Angel pulled Buffy out of the spot and they moved as quietly and as quickly as possible.  Once they were out the door, they bolted.  They barely heard the cries of “follow them!” from one of the men and ran down the stair to the 32nd level, where they yanked the door open and took an elevator the rest of the way down to the garage.  Unfortunately there was one of the soldier men waiting there.

“Freeze!” He ordered.  He moved towards Angel first, but surprisingly

Angel punched him, and when the soldier dropped his weapon, Angel picked it up and used it to knock the other man out.

I’m late for work again

Angel again grabbed Buffy and ran to their car.  He made sure Buffy was alright before running to the other side and slamming the door shut while putting his keys in the ignition.  He backed out of the spot and sped towards the exit, scaring some bunch of people who must have lived somewhere below them.  The garage man was closing the garage when he saw the speeding car coming towards him. He pressed the stop button and the up button telling it to go faster.  He dodged out of the way as Angel came speeding by, smashing the half-open garage.  Buffy protected herself by putting her arms over her head and ducking down.

“It’s alright, Buffy, we’re safe now” Angel said calmly. A couple of seconds later police sirens were heard and Angel cursed again.  “Dammit!”

“What’s going to happen Angel?” she said in a way-to-calm voice.  “They’re coming to take me aren’t they?”

“I’m not gonna let that happen,” Angel said as he sped around a corner, trying to shake the police off.  Unbeknownst to them, the men in the police car were getting ready to shoot at Buffy and Angel.

“Shoot!” the cop ordered, and three gunshots rang out.  In the car, Buffy let out a scream and Angel swore somemore under his breath.  Buffy started to cry and looked at her left shoulder which had been hit by one of the bullets.  When Angel saw that one of the bullets had hit her, he raged.  He immediately turned the car around and sped straight towards the police car chasing them.  The police car turned and pulled out of the way, but not without firing somemore shots, but this time not into the car, but at the tires.  Two of the three hit the two tires on the left side.  The policemen watched at the car smashed into the wall of a building.  Now was their chance to get Buffy.

And even if I’m there, they’ll all imply that I might not last the day

Angel’s nose was bleeding from when he had hit the wall.  He looked over to Buffy, whose shoulder was starting to bleed very badly now.  The blood was all over her nightgown and bathrobe.

“Don’t move!”  One man came over to Angel’s side of the car and pointed a gun at him.  Angel had no choice but to put his hands up.  Another man came over to Buffy’s side and calmly asked her if she was alright.  Since Buffy had her eyes closed she was unable to see who the person was attempting to help her out of the car.   Buffy was barely able to hear Angel’s shout of ‘Leave her alone’ as she lost consciousness.  The man picked her up, and when Angel saw that from his rearview mirror, he let out a growl.  “Get outta the car! Now!”  Angel slowly adjusted himself so he could climb out the now smashed window.  He was immediately placed in handcuffs.

“Will she be alright,” Angel asked the officer calmly.

“Why would you wanna know?” The man said roughly back to him. “You kidnapped her.”

“WHAT?!” Angel turned around and found a gun pointed at his already bloodied face. “I didn’t kidnap her I swear to God.  Look, officer you don’t understand, she’s my fiancée, our parents don’t want us to be together, but we had to leave.  Her father tried to kill us both. The man finally put the gun away, seeing that maybe Angel was willing to talk.

And then you call me and it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad

The man who held Buffy took out his cell phone and started pressing the buttons.  “Hello, Mr. Summers?” he asked and heard the voice on the other end say ‘yes’ ,  “We have your daughter, sir, but we need to take her to the hospital.”  He held the phone away from his ear as he heard Mr. Summers yell that it was against their orders to hurt her.  As he was speaking, thunderclouds came over them and rain started to fall.  “Alright, Mr. Summers, all right, just please calm down, and meet us at the hospital.” And the man clicked the phone shut.  The man carried Buffy over to the car, placed her in it, making sure she was buckled and everything.  Then he got in the car and started to drive to the hospital.

Angel exploded when he saw the car with Buffy in it drive away.  “Where are they taking her?” He struggled against his handcuffs and the officer holding him back.  “Please sir, let me go, I need to be with her.”

“I have strict orders to keep you away from her!” the officer said.  Angel turned on him.

“Who do you have orders from? Hank Summers? Who?” Angel ordered immediately.

“It was the Summers man you just mentioned,” the officer said timidly and reluctantly.

“God damn that bastard,” Angel turned and looked around.

And I want to thank you, for giving me the best day of my life

Buffy woke to find herself in a strange car, not remembering right off what had happened.  “Where am I?” she asked.

“You’re on your way to the hospital, Miss Summers,” the man said.

“Who…oww…sss…” Buffy felt her head and hit a sore spot.  “Who are you?”

“I’m Riley Finn, I’ve been assigned to protect you,” Riley attempted to smile at her.  “Are you alright?”

“Where’s Angel?”

“Who, Miss Summers?” Riley questioned.

“Angel O’Connor, my fiancée,” Buffy said feeling her head again.

“I’m sorry, miss, but I don’t know who you’re talking about,” Riley said driving into the entrance of the hospital, taking Buffy to the emergency area.  He got a wheelchair for Buffy and placed her in it and took her to the emergency section.  He talked to the secretary who wouldn’t let him and Buffy in because there were other people waiting, but when Riley slipped the woman a few hundred dollar bills, she immediately let them in.

Oh, just to be with you is having the best day of my life

“What’s the matter with this one?” the doctor came up to them and said lazily.

“Injury to the head in a car accident and possibly other unknown symptoms,” Riley said in a commanding voice.

“Oh, well bring her to room 13 and I’ll be right there,” the doctor all of a sudden straightened up and got very serious.

“Thank you,” Riley grabbed a wheelchair from the side and told Buffy to sit in it, which she was immensely glad to do and Riley rolled her to the room the doctor told them to go to.

“Where’s Angel?” was all Buffy could say when she placed in the bed

“I’m right here, love,” Suddenly Angel came into the room with the officer slightly behind him.

“Angel! You came for me, I knew you would,” Buffy smiled weakly.  She looked at his hands caressing her face, “Why are you in handcuffs?”

“Because he kidnapped you and took you away,” Came another voice from behind them.

“Mr. Summers!”

“You had my strict orders to keep this man away from my daughter,” Mr. Summers growled with disdain, looking at Angel with a great amount of loathing.

“You can’t keep me and Buffy apart, sir,” Angel bellowed to the whole hospital, “And you damn well know it, so just le t me and Buffy go,” Angel moved to take control of the wheelchair from Buffy, but Mr. Summers threw himself on Angel and knocked him to the ground. The officer and Riley both pulled out their guns and pointed them at Mr. Summers and Angel.

“Angel, Hank, please, calm down,” Joyce Summers came running in.  Although Hank didn’t like Angel, Joyce took a great liking to him.  She saw that he made Buffy happy.

“Buffy we’re taking you home right now,” Hank ordered.

“No!” The officer then grabbed Angel and started to hold him back as Riley and Hank took Buffy off the bed and placed her gently in the wheel chair.

“You’re coming home, sweetie,” Hank said gently then taking out his cell phone and quickly saying to the person on the other end “Get the car.”

“You can’t take her! She’s injured,” Angel struggled.

“Angel? Where are you?” Buffy said barely keeping consciousness.

“Let me go!” Angel growled to the officer.

“Let’s go,” Hank said pulling his wife away and Riley pushing Buffy out of the room.

“Buffy!” He screamed, but Buffy had quietly lost consciousness again without anyone realizing it.  The four went down to the stretch limousine that was waiting for them.  Riley laid Buffy across the long part of the limo and sat against the seats against the wall splitting the driver’s area from the passenger area. Pretty soon, they arrived at their mansion, where Buffy’s brother, Spike, her sister, Dawn, and the household staff was waiting at the windows.  The rain was now down pouring at this point.

Push the door I’m home at last and I’m soaking through and through

Buffy had slightly regained her consciousness by the time they reached her home.  Hank helped Joyce out of the car while Riley carried Buffy through the rain into the house.  They were welcomed by the staff.

“Welcome home sir,” the butler said, closing the door and taking their coats.

“Thank you, Drake,” Hank said as a 14-year-old girl and a boy looking about the same age as Buffy ran in.

“Is she home?” Dawn asked her father.

“Yes, Dawn, she’s home,” Hank smiled at his younger daughter.  Spike could only look at his sister’s weak form and have sympathy for her.  He knew exactly how she felt.  Hank loathes his girlfriend, Drusilla, just as much as Angel.  Spike winced at the memories and wished that the same thing wasn’t going to happen to Buffy.

“I’ll get some towels,” Joyce said running upstairs.

“Riley, could you please bring Buffy to her room?”  Hank requested.  Riley nodded his head and started up the stairs with Spike and Dawn following.  Once Riley had laid Buffy down, he left the room, so Dawn and Spike could spend some time alone with her.

“Hey, pet, how are you doin’?” Spike said quietly, gently taking Buffy’s hand.

“Spike, I haven’t seen you in so long,” Buffy smiled.  “I should be asking how you are.”

“Been better,” Spike grumbled. “The lousy bastard that’s our father has decided to have Dawn home-schooled.”

“What? No! They can’t do that,” Buffy attempted to get up but immediately felt severe pain come to her head and reflexively put her hand up to it and laid back down on the pillows.

“’Ere pet, maybe this’ll make you feel better,” Spike ran his fingers along her temple and ran them to each side of her head and started circling his finger backwards.  Buffy sighed and smiled in reply.

“You always know what to do to make me feel better, Spike,”

“Buffy, do I have to be home-schooled? I mean what’s the point? You still have to do work, and their no friends or anything,” Dawn sighed.

“Spike and I’ll make sure that you’ll not be home-schooled,” Buffy used her other hand to lightly stroke Dawn’s face.

“Buffy!” Joyce came running into the room.

“Hey, mom, long time no see,” Buffy attempted to joke.

“How are you feeling?”

“Well, headache, bruises all over my body probably, my fiancé taken away from me, having a bastard for a father, take all that away and I’m doing just dandy,” Buffy said her strength slowly returning.

“Fiancé?”

“Did I mention that Angel proposed to me?” Buffy lightly smiled.

“Oh, honey congratulations!” Joyce smiled and then grimaced, “When’s the wedding?”

“I don’t know if there’s going to be one at this point,” Buffy sighed.

“Does that mean you’re going to go away again?” Dawn asked in a sad voice.

“Well, not at the moment,” Buffy told her younger sister.

Then you handed me a towel, and all I see is you

“Mum, I had an idea,” Spike said to Joyce.

“Yes?” she replied handing Buffy some towels and dry clothes.  Her bathrobe and pajamas were now ruined beyond repair by now.

“I think we all need to get away from him,” Spike said referring to Hank. “We need to get away from him.  Then Buffy can be with Angel and I can find Dru and Dawn can go to a normal school.  And I see the way he treats you, don’t deny it, mum. He’s trying to make us like him and I know you want better for all of us. You deserve better, we deserve better.”

Joyce simply smiled with tears in her eyes, “I wish it was that easy, Spike, but it’s not.  We’d need supplies and clothes and a place to stay.”

“I know a place,” Buffy chipped in.  “Where Angel and I have been staying. It’s big enough for all of us.”

“See?” Everything would work out!”

Joyce pursed her lips together and thought for a moment, “Well, it could work, but Buffy will need to get better first before we do anything.”

“But you’ll think about it?” Dawn said happily.

“Yes, sweetie I’ll think about.  Oh God, I love you all so much,” she said looking upon her three children.

And even if my house falls down now, I wouldn’t have a clue

“I want that boy taken far away from here, George,” Hank’s voice could be heard over the telephone. “I don’t want him near my daughter ever again.”  And then the phone clicked to signal that he had hung up.  The officer, George, sighed.

“Please sir, don’t take me away from Buffy,” Angel begged. “She’s my whole life, and I couldn’t bear to live it without her.  I’m barely holding onto my sanity right now.”  George looked at Angel with pity.

“All right,” George said. “I won’t take you away, but I take you back to your apartment.  Just keep low for a while. I won’t say anything.  I tell Hank that you’ve been taken to Northern Canada.”  His cell phone rang again. “Hello? Joyce! Joyce slow down, I can’t understand what you’re saying”

Angel looked down but strained his ears to attempt to hear what Joyce was saying.

“When? At Angel’s apartment?” George turned to look at Angel. “In a few days?  Joyce keep it quiet, you don’t want Hank to find out.  I’ll help, of course. Fine.  I’ll talk to you soon.”

“Well, apparently, they’ve made a plan.”

“They?”

“Joyce, Buffy, Dawn, and Spike.”

“What is it?”

Because you’re near me and I want to thank you

“Ok, George has agreed to help us, we…”

“Joyce!” A voice from the stairs rang. “Are you in Buffy’s room?”

“Yes, Hank I am, I’m just seeing how she is doing,” Joyce sighed as Hank opened the door and came in.

“Buffy, darling, how are you?”

“I’d be better if you weren’t around,” she said, which was a mistake because the next second a hand came flying across her face.

“Don’t you ever talk to me like that young lady,” he barked.

“Hank, please, she’s weak and needs rest right now,” Joyce pleaded, hating seeing her daughter abused.

“Just so you know before I go, that boy of yours has been taken out of this country,” Hank smirked and left the room.  Tears stood in Buffy’s eyes.

“Sweetheart, I’m so sorry,” Joyce came over to her daughter and started to comfort her when her cell phone rang.

“Joyce speaking,” Joyce said.

“Joyce, it’s Angel,” his voice came over the phone.

“Where are you?” Joyce whispered fearing Hank might still be at the door listening. “Hank just told us you’re out of the country.”

“I’m not, George is nice enough to let me use his cell phone and take me back to his apartment,” Angel explained in a rush. “Is Buffy there?”

“Yes, hold on,” she said handing the phone to Buffy who had a questioning look on her face. “Whisper, sweetheart,”

“Hello?”

“Buffy,” Angel sighed in happiness at hearing his love’s voice.

For giving me the best day of my life

“Angel!  I thought that they…”

“No, my love, don’t worry about anything, we’ll be together again soon.”

“Do you know about the pla…”

“Yes, I do, now get better for my sake, for your sake, and for everyone else’s in that room with you sake.”

“I’ll get better faster now that I know you’re all right,” Buffy smiled and still whispered.

“I must go but I shall call again soon, be safe,” Angel said.

“I love you,” Buffy started to sob.

“I love you too,” Angel said, “I must go, talk to you soon.” Buffy broke into complete sobs after Angel hung up.  Dawn, Joyce, and Spike all came around her and hugged her.

“We’ll be outta here soon, pet, just remember that,” Spike smiled.

Is having the best day of my life…

~*-End of the first story-*~

I didn’t put the extra verse in at the end because I couldn’t think of anything to put with it.  The next story, Hunter will probably come sometime in January, unless I am very lucky and have a huge inspiration for the next story and I can get it done before New Years.
