“Angel, what about the curse?” Buffy said pulling away. “We can’t . . . “

“I know Buffy but, you’ve been gone so long, and I want you so bad . . . “

“Angel, you were the one who broke up with me in the first place because of this, and now you’re willing to do the same thing again? Knowing the risks?”

“So I see you’ve gotten a little more . . . uhhh . . . lawish since the last time I saw you,” Faith said looking at all the law books in Gunn’s room.

“Yeah, ole’ W&H gave me a law brain, so now I’m the firm’s top lawyer,” Gunn grumbled.

“But why, wouldn’t that mean they need you for something?” Wood, Faith’s boyfriend and ex-principal of Sunnydale High, piped in.

“Maybe, maybe not, personally I’d like to wait before I find out,” Gunn sighed and sat in his chair.

“So Fred, you are the head of the sciences department?” Tara asked, “That sounds cool!”

“Yeah, but it’s a much harder job than it looks like,” Fred smiled and sighed.

“It doesn’t look that easy,” Willow said looking at all of the different test tubes.

“I’ve learned a lot already, but still so much to see, to learn,” Fred told Willow and Tara.

“So Sunnydale is gone?” Cordelia said. “All right! I mean no, not good . . . “The phone on Doyle’s desk rang and eh went over and picked it up.  The others continued talking.

“I think now’s a good time to tell you something, Anya,” Xander said.”

Actually no it’s not but if I don’t say it now I’ll never get it out again.  I know it didn’t work out last time, but I think this time it’ll go correctly.”

“Oh my God,” Anya said as Xander kneeled down. “No, no . . .”

“Will you marry me?” Xander said shakily and presented her with a diamond ring.

“You’re going to leave me at the altar like you did last time I know y0u are,” Anya cried.

“No, Anya, I’m not, I swear to God this time, I spent a lot of time thinking about and you are the one for me,” Xander tried to calm her.  “I won’t do what I did, and I was an idiot for what I did then.  That demon convinced me that we wouldn’t be happy together, but he was wrong . . . I was wrong, I should have had more faith in you . . . in us.”

Anya looked at him for a moment, “Xander Harris,” Xander looked like the most nervous man on earth, “I would be glad to be your wife.” Xander got up and smiled and put the ring on her finger.  “But if you do what you did last time . . . “

“I know Anya, you wish I was never born,” Xander laughed slightly.

“Oh my God, you two are getting married,” Cordelia shouted happily, “I have got to help you pick out your dress, Anya!”

“Guys,” Doyle said hanging up the phone, “We got trouble.”

“I know, Buffy, but there’s something that . . . “Angel started to say before Doyle, Cordelia, Xander and Anya stepped into the room.

“Boss, we got trouble, and this is big,” Doyle said in a panicked voice.

“What is it?” Angel asked urgently.

“There’s a human-killin’ demon right outsida’ town,” Doyle quickly told him. “I think ya better go.”

“But it’s . . . “Buffy started to say.

“Buffy, there’s no time, Angel’s gotta go,” Doyle told her.

“Then I’m going with him,” Buffy firmly stated.

“I don’t think anyone’s going anywhere,” Spike growled in game face, holding one of the W&H workers.

“So Wes, how’s business?” Faith asked him.  She seemed to bounce from room to room.

“You’d think crazy as crazy can get, but here, it’s worse than that,” Wesley told her.

“What kind of big bads you guys got here?” Faith started to ask but then paused.

“Faith, it anything the matter?” Wesley asked coming closer to her.

“There’s a vampire here,” Faith sensed.

“Of course there is . . . Angel and Sp . . .” Wes started to say but was cut off by Faith.

“Not souled,” Faith said running out of the room towards Angel’s office.

“Spike,” Angel said walking slowly towards him, “Put him down.”

“I soddin’ well not,” Spike growled threatening to bite him.

“Spike,” Buffy said, “Why would you do this, not to mention you can’t because you’ll feel guilty and you have the chip in your head.”

“There’s where you’re wrong, bit,” Spike smirked.

“Don’t tell me you . . .” Doyle started to say.

“I did, ya drunken Irish-poof,” Spike snapped.

“Hey,” Angel said, “He’s not the only Irishman in the room.”  Buffy just looked at him. “OK, so I didn’t say that I was Irish? And drunk before I became a vampire?”

“Well, then that makes two of us,” Doyle smiled patting Angel on the shoulder. Angel kind of glared at him, making Doyle remember the situation at hand.

“Gimme what I want or I kill this guy and not give one damn,” Spike said.

“Spike please you have to . . .”

“Buffy, don’t try it, when Spike has gone bad, he’s gone bad, like me,” Angel said ready to negotiate.  “What do you want?”

~End Chapter Two~

Next Chapter: We’ll see what Spike wants, and if Angel will give it to him. Also, what was Angel trying to tell Buffy before Doyle came in.
