Our Strategic Focus for the year 2008 includes:

1.    Communication

We will be in regular communication so that all are fully informed. Communication is two-way so we also expect suggestions and feedback so that we can collectively move the association forward.

2.    More Inclusive Association

Participation in activities of the Association, especially meetings, will be increased by reaching out to as many Senators  as possible. We intend to seek the support of members and NJC Secretariat in reaching out, especially to the older Senators.

3.    Business Networking

Networking will also be encouraged among members. So we expect that more members will bring business, employment and related opportunities to Members' attention, through the mailing list. We will also encourage discussion of Business Opportunities among members.

4.    Support to JCI Nigeria

We will continue our support to JCI Nigeria in the areas of Secretariat Development and Awards and resolve all issues for the successful take off of JCI Nigeria Foundation
We also propose to revisit the Annual Reunion issue so that  past members can be drawn nearer to the organisation.

5.    Support to African Senate

We need to be more active in the African Senate as the largest Anglophone nation. Meetings are attended more by the Francophones. It is so bad that sometimes they consider translating to English a waste of time for less than 5  Anglophones in a meeting of over 30 people. Can you really blame them. There is obviously strength in numbers. Please, plan to be in Burkina Faso in May this year. We will be keeping in touch with the person in charge of Senate Programme at the Conference and forward all information to the list.

As you are aware there are also Senate meetings at other JCI Conferences and World Congress. You will shortly be given information on these  for 2008.

Let us be guided for this year by the quote that " There are no speed limits in the pursuit of excellence. "
