| For many years we have entertained rabbits in the back yard. It was a daily task to toss carrots toward the woods in an effort to draw them out and nearer to us. They did come. They came right up to our feet. We gave them the respect they demanded, and in return we had an opportunity to gaze upon their uniqueness, learning something about being still, solitary, and just a bit mysterious. For a couple of years the rabbits didn't come. I was encouraged however, during our last snow of the year, for in the parking lot on my way out for a walk, I glanced down to see tracks! Prints left for my eyes filling me with excitement! And driving home from work, I saw a small bunny hopping out from under the shrubs. Some think they are a nuisance. We have always found them to be our friends. With that thought, I offer you The Rabbit Lady, by Suzanne Adanna. Keep your eyes and ears open. You never know when something magical might happen to you! |
