The commissioning ceremony was part of activities marking the governors third year in office.
Among the roads commissioned were the 1.4 kilometer Relief Market road, the 2 kilometre Works Layout road linking Okigwe road junction and the Standard Shoe Industry owned by the state.

Alhaji Atiku commended governor Achike Udenwe for constructing the access roads which were very strategic in the economic development of the state.
In the case of Orlu-Urualla, Akokwa Federal Road, the Vice President noted that the Federal Government always reinbursed states when they repaired such roads and urged the state government to forward the bill for the construction of the roads to the Presidency.
