Uniform Guidelines:
The following are the 2nd New Jersey Uniform Requirements for all members. The vendors for each item listed have been qualified by our Command Staff to be of superior quality and have reasonable delivery times for said quality.

Perhaps one of the strongest distinctions between the 2nd NJ and some of the other outfits out there is that we are very well researched and all have the same uniforms and gear. To those units in the field who know the score, your uniform and gear are a very telling display as to the structure of your unit. Therefore each of us must set the standard for the company. As such, we have taken the time over the past few years to research who makes the best reproduction of the uniform the 2nd NJ was issued. We require all new members as well as our veterans who need new gear to get their items from the following sutleries:

Minimum Necessary Uniform:
� Forage Cap: Vendor per Unit guidelines
� Sack Coat: 4 button, lined or unlined acceptable. Vendor per Unit guidelines
� Trousers: Deering pattern. Vendor per Unit guidelines
� Braces (suspenders): Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Booties (shoes): Black leather upper with leather sole, preferably pegged together. Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Shirt: Domat flannel (military issue), Canton flannel (relief/aid issue) or civilian (homespun). Vendor suggestions available through Unit

Minimum Necessary Accouterments:
� Leathers: Waist Belt, Cap Box, Cartridge Box, Cartridge Box Sling, Bayonet Scabbard (Springfield Style). Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Brass for Leathers: US oval belt buckle, US oval Cartridge Box Plate, Eagle breast plate. Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Canteen: Smooth side (Early War model), covered in Brown Jeancloth, leather sling with Japanned black buckle. Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Haversack: Tarred canvas with Japanned black buckle. Vendor suggestions available through Unit
� Rifle: Springfield model 1861 preferred, Enfield model 1853 acceptable. Vendor suggestions available through Unit
