Barger, WaltElectrical EngineerSomerset, NJ"I got involved to experience what my Great-great-grandfather felt and something about this time period has gotten into my blood. The "moments" where you feel that you are back in the 1860's are incredible!"
Friedman, KenBusiness ExecutiveBurlington, NJ"Belonging to the 2nd New Jersey Volunteers is a vehicle which allows me to study and experience as close as possible the routine of a soldier during that profound conflict. Please pass the hardtack."

Milligan, RayRetired Police ChiefCamden, NJTaking part in the Civil War re-enactments has given me a chance to see what it was like for my Great-Grandfather William who fought for our country with the 72nd Pa. Vol. It is a part of our history that should always remain. Being a Vietnam veteran myself, I can truly relate to the horrors of war.

Sweeney, PatRetired NavyCumberland, NJ"I've always been interested in American history, especially the Civil War. When I found you could actually reenact the battles that were fought, I was intrigued. 17 years later, it is still scary and thrilling to see large numbers of men coming at you. This really let's you experience history."
White, DaveStudentMercer, NJI got into the hobby because of my interest in military history. I figured Civil War re-enacting was the closest I could get to real combat (of the 19th century variety) without having minie balls whizzing by my head. My favorite part of the hobby right now is the battles, wherein you can get a sense of the confusion and excitement these men would have felt while in combat.
Zerr, ChipPlant ManagerCamden, NJMy great-great-grandfather was a Bavarian immigrant who came to the U.S. before the war. He volunteered and was sworn into the 7th NY Heavy Artillery. He rose through the ranks until eventually gaining a Captaincy. I have numerous original documents, his solid silver corps badge and his entire service record.
